"This is our second time at Il Posto, and we will be back many times. A wonderful menu with local ingredients and spectacular combinations of flavors. The owner is always there with a wonderful "Buona Sera" to make you feel welcome. We all had the chef's tasting this time, last time we ordered ala carte. I can't wait to see what we try next time on this ever-changing menu."

"Il posto keeps doing a great job. Everything is plated beautifully and every dish had t least one item that was unexpected (in a creative out of the box good way). I want to buy a polyscience smoking gun smoker after seeing 'smoked strawberries' in one dish! Ask max for wine suggestions as the win list is small but carefully selected."

"This is our 2nd time dining here and it matched/surpassed our first experience. Nice to the eye dishes with some surprising combinations that worked beautifully. Max helped with our wine selection & hit it perfectly...thank you, Max. Both of our fish dishes
were delicious ( Bream and Tilefish) with inventive ingredients that did not overpower but complimented the fish. A nice final touch was the birthday candle on our dessert that we shared. The nice folks at Castle Marne B&B originally recommended this restaurant 3 years ago and we made sure that we booked our evening at Castle Marne again and Il Posto to celebrate a birthday. Thank you for making our overnight stay in Denver great...again!"

"This restaurant relies heavily on serving whatever's fresh and in season, and they don't have a very wide menu. The owner and chefs are very brave and creative and the menu, which changes daily, reflects that. The only issue is that because the choices are limited and sometimes a little "out there", some people who are less adventurous may not find something on the menu which totally tantalizes them. Still, you'll probably find something good and it's an interesting experience nonetheless."

"My husband and I just fell in love with this restaurant. There was a lovely breeze coming through the large windows and the server was laid-back but still very attentive. The food was absolutely amazing and beautifully plated. The menu changes daily and we appreciated the focus on " in season" ingredients (fava beans, ramps, asparagus). We had the burrata and carp dishes to start, followed by the gnocchi and branzino for entrees. Everything was balanced, perfectly seasoned and incredibly satisfying. They also recommend a fantastic wine that paired well with all our food and was reasonably priced. The dessert was innovative and delicious, chocolate rice pudding. We already have reservations to go back next week for a birthday celebration."

"The staff at Il Posto consistently deliver a creatively crafted menu using a fresh ingredients. One of my favorites is to sit at the kitchen-side table - it is like sitting in a friend's kitchen while they cook. The Sommelier is a friendly advocate to help you navigate a diverse wine list."

"The food at Il Posto is outstanding and of hard to find quality for Italian food in Denver. The chef, Andrea has an amazing palate for simple, fresh interesting seasonal food. The best part of this is that "this" is simply how good Italian food is made, and it's not sold a trendy restaurant concept. It's hard to find contemporary Italian food created with such care, talent and simple elegance. The atmosphere is casual enough to be fun. It's a little loud inside which some might find exciting...... but who cares when it's all about the food. If you like good food without all the attitude and explanation, this is the real deal."

"My wife and I really enjoyed the food. The flavors and tenderness of our dishes were excellent (warning: portion's small, which is fine with us). However, it took us two hours to be seated (we had reservations) and to order/receive what amounted to a cheese plate, salad and two pasta dishes. Not that we were in a rush (most places around here want to clear your plate before you set the fork down on your last bite), but we couldn't understand what took so long and it was a bit ridiculous. On top of that, the attitude of the servers was very condescending and flat-out rude. Asking us how our meal was seemed like a chore, and we felt like we had done something wrong all night. Maybe it was just a bad night."

"I can see how this restaurant would be incredible if everything were prepared correctly, but since the menu changes so often, the chef really is the only trusted person who should be preparing the food. Some of the food was spot on, others were misses due to lack of seasoning such as basic ingredients like salt. There were three of us that came to the restaurant for the first time and although the first dishes were rather good, everyone of us found that the secondi dishes all could have been good, but were completely bland."

"We had been trying to go to Il Posto for a while, but it's popularity precludes casually dropping in, as the wait can be long. But making a reservation on Open Table was perfect. We got there right on time and our table was waiting -- many others were eyeing the empty table hoping for a no show. It's a small place, energetic conversation, attentive wait staff. The wine steward gave us very good recommendations. The food was excellent -- presentation, selection, and of course very tasty. Portion size may be considered small by some, but I was plesently sated. Overall an excellent night out on 17th ave with friends."

"Food was very tasty, especially the gnocchi and risotto. The menu lacks any green, leafy salad -- something with arugula would be welcome. The plates were oddly huge for the small tables and were in stark contrast to the small portions. The main entrees could have been warmer. Experience was very nice and service was very quick and friendly. We will probably go back and would recommend it to friends."

"My husband and I read about Il Posto and were excited to try it out. We had the cheese plate, some wine, a couple pasta entrees and some fabulous desserts. The restaurant was buzzing even though it was a cold, snowy Tuesday night! The owner spoke to us a few times and saw us out when we left. Great food, great service. I wish the server had offered to go over the menu with us but that is my only minor complaint. It Posto is highly recommended."

"The service at Il Posto is phenomenal. The servers work as a fluid team and always have their eye on you. We had brought in a birthday cake, and upon arrival, they took it away and then when we were ready, they cut it and served it to us with candles lit on the cake!! "Il Posto was a great place to have a nice dinner for two. The food was great and the service was outstanding. We met the chef/owner and he treated us as if he knew us for years. The menu changes each day and we will be back for another exciting dinner in the near future.
Only negative for us was that we were seated at a table for two in a long line of tables for two. We asked for a table for four but were told none would be available. Tables for four were available throughout the evening. You could hear everyones conversation and there wasn't any privacy at our table. The gentleman seated next to us spent the evening gawking at our different meal selections.

"Owner Andrea Frizzi has created a wonderful dining experience. Our wait person was very professional, subtle, and very 'menu knowledgable' in her understanding of pairing and best dishes of the day.
Portions were quite adequate without being excessive and the plating was inviting. We enjoyed the risotto, oriechette with pork osso bucco and the ono. I would have enjoyed seeing an offering of chicken in some form, but understand the menu changes daily, so may have just missed it.
A real pleasant dining experience that will certainly inspire us to return."

"As always, the vibrantly fun Il Posto was the perfect place to celebrate a special occasion with close friends. The food is deliciously creative and impeccably prepared, the wines are distinctive and heavenly (the sommelier is amazing if you need guidance in selecting a wine), and the service is friendly and knowledgeable. From wonderful tagliere, to burrata and simply devine soups, to perfectly cooked pasta and risotto, and any choice of exquisite main course and delectable dessert, Il Posto never fails. Be prepared to relax, spend some time, enjoy your friends, and savor the food and wine -- this is not a place to rush in and out of. I am eagerly awaiting the patio opening for romantic al fresco dinners and summer cocktails."

"My husband and I agreed that this was the best food we've had in years. Absolutely the dining experience we wish we could have every time we eat out. Only drawback was that parking was a little difficult to find, but that is just due to the location. This was completely overshadowed by the amazing dining experience. We had the Chef's menu and included the wine option. Every bite was delicious and the wines were spot on. Even though my husband only drinks reds and I only drink whites, the gentleman did a fantastic job and made the experience fun. Can't wait to go back and take our food loving friends."

"The best gnocchi I've ever had. We dined here for restaurant week and had a great time and ate well. The table before us was taking their time, delaying our seating. The hostess was very nice and said we could get drinks next store and she'd come get us when the table was ready. They gave us a bottle of presecco to make up for the inconvenience."

"I LOVE Il Posto so going during restaurant week (RW) was probably a mistake. While the food was great, this wasn't the amazing experience I have had at Il Posto in the past. While I didn't feel rushed, I felt like the chef's weren't on their A-game, perhaps because for RW they have to churn out so many plates so quickly? Anyway, I will definitely be back, but probably will skip RW next year."
