"The scene at Kenichi is great, but the fantastic food is what keeps us returning. Bhodi put together a summer starter with watermelon, maytag blue cheese and a melange of spices and sauce that made the taste refreshing and unique. He always delights the sences."

"It was the first visit for my wife and I to Kenichi. The prices are somewhat high, but meal was excellent. We got one of the curtain booths which made the experience that more enjoyable. Although you get the vibrant energy from the folks in the restaurant, you are almost to yourself because of the curtain. Our server was top notch. Did not like that for party of two gratuity was already included, but I would have given him the 20% anyway. Other than that (gratuity included in final bill), it was a terrific experience."

"Executive Chef, Bodhi Durant, is always able to amaze. From the Amuse Bouche to the delicious entrees, he is one of the best chefs in Texas. The sea bass was moist and buttery and the yellow-tail appetizer was spicy and flavorful. Try the Snow Maiden Saki. I highly recommend this restaurant."

"Too loud! Diners had trouble communicating due to the very loud music. This restaurant does NOT need a DJ. Ambiance would have been nice otherwise. Outstanding sashimi, pricy wine by the glass."

"Service was not good. Restuarant was not very busy but there was still a long wait for our waiter to come by our table. Ordered the hot rock in which a cold rock was brought to the table. it was replaced with another cold rock. Took four rocks in all."

"Service and food was ok but for the price I would rather go to Nobu for the overall experience. Parking is expensive due to the close proximity to AA Center."

"Restaurant seated us at the best table in the house and we were very appreciative. The food and service was great! Sushi and Miso cod outstanding. Baby back ribs and short rib dinners - just wonderful flavor. All in all, delicious but overpriced compared to other restaurants of similar quality, genre, and menu selection.
Even though the music was awesome, it was too loud to have a conversation at the table without yelling....but then I'm old, LOL!
Will try again combined with an event at Victory Park."

"Went to Kenichi before the Mavs game. Was 30 min. late to reservation because of wreck on highway, but had no plroblems getting seated. Being tight on time, the waitress did a great job making sure we got everyhting we wanted to eat with pleanty of time to enjoy it and still make the game before tip-off. The food was amazing as always,. Great timee, will go back."

"It was good and the ambiance was nice, but it wasn't the best sushi I've ever had. I wasn't really impressed especially considering all the rave reviews this place gets. Plus, the servers were nice but rather slow. It's worth a try just don't expect a life changing experience."

"Kenichi never disappoints! Now our FAVORITE Dallas restaurant. Everything is top notch-the food, the staff, the management etc. Every dish we've had is unique and totally delicious. No, no one paid us to say this! This has to be in the top 10 restaurants in town!"

"Very good seafood and sushi, to be expected as Kenichi is a well known "brand". Top quality means you pay for it, too, which is fine if you understand that you don't want "bargain sushi" on the cheap. Straightforward, nothing too adventurous, but the quality is always fresh. Great Sake list."

"I have to admit the first time I ate at Kenichi a few years back I was not that impressed. Food options seems overpriced for what was delivered. I was hesitant to return but recently returned with my uncle on Valentine's Day for a last minute reservation. I was very happy with the service and the food. Everything we had from the sake to the sashimi was wonderful! The Blake roll was amazing and the Fried Oysters (I think this was a V-day special) were to die for!"

"Went for a special treat on Valentine's evening. Waiter started out pleasant, knowledgable and attentive, then dropped off during the meal. Very little attention after food was served. I also noticed that as soon as he took our order, he went to the next table to discuss food and wine options... before putting in our order. We had to wait a while for the check, despite that we were ready to leave.
My partner's sushi was fantastic -- the reason for going. I ordered a steak. Flavor was really good, however, the meat was overcooked. I ordered medium, which has a fair amount of pink. This steak was done and was even served sliced, so the waiter should have noticed. Added 20% gratuity without telling us."

"The food was fine, but in no way outstanding. Accustomed to TAO and Nobu in New York City, I was expecting Kenichi to live up to its favorable comparison. It did not. Our server, Richard, was attentive and he comped our "anniv" dessert. We began with spicy edamame and gyoza, both enjoyable. The rolls were very good but not superior. The seared "jumbo" scallops were excellent though a total of three (3) scallops is insufficient for the exorbitant price charged. What really killed the experience for us, was the Saturday night dance party that swung into full force by 9pm. Definitely NOT the "vibrant bar scene" we hoped for; more of a hip-hop freak show, half the men dressed too casually, while most of the women dressed like, well, "pros." Ug."
