Buca di Beppo serves authentic Italian cuisine in an eclectic, vintage setting. Our dishes are served family-style, meant to be shared by everyone at the table. Two sizes are available: BUCA SMALL feeds up to two and BUCA LARGE feeds up to four. "First time to go Buca di Peppo and I will go back to this place again. The food was great and delish the server is very helpful recommending what is good to order. The italian drink that I got is very refreshing. Highly recommended for young and adult.
The gorgonzola salad is delicious especially the stuff prosciutto chicken. I lke them all. I was so full that we have bring to go the left overs. Yummmmy, deliciouso."

"Everyone is always looking for a great place to go for Mother's Day. This year, our family decided to do an early lunch (2p) at Buca. We were a party of 15 (10 adults and 5 kids). We were seated within 5 minutes and food came out fairly fast. The noise level was high, but there were a lot of Moms being celebrated :) Despite the large group, the loud laughs and conversation going on around us, our server was very attentive and prompt."

"The service here was fantastic, but the food I felt was extremely overpriced for what we received. Of the five dishes we ordered, four were bland, and slightly soggy (pasta dishes). It tasted a bit frozen and reheated, not prepared from scratch. There were only two or three vegetarian options. We spent close to $400 with a group of nine, and felt slightly dissatisfied while leaving with the meal overall, and the watered down drinks as well. I know they were extremely busy, so perhaps the food was rushed? Doubtful I'd come here again. But my Mom enjoyed having us all together, and really, that was the point of the meal..."

"The family style dining of Buca di Beppo was perfect for Mother's Day as we shared salad, garlic bread an a couple entrees. Our waitress was attentive, fun and efficient. We were suprised to find they were out of Lasagna so early in the evening. But we had a great time together in the perfect atmosphere for our family gathering."

"My girlfriend and I attended Bucca for what we wanted to be a romantic dinner. We spent a substantial amount of money and received what we would call "cafeteria food". My girlfriend was so displeased with the taste and quality of the food that she left half of it uneaten. Our server was polite, but did nothing outstanding or noteworthy in terms of customer service. We've given this restaurant a few tries and this was our last try! There are no redeeming qualities and the food is just awful, awful, awful! It tasted like leftovers that had been microwaved."

"I used to remember Bucca's plate was big even though it's pricey but at least we can share. but I was disappointed this time. Food portion seems to get reduced. Service was bad. I had to ask for bread twice before they serve us bread. and it was cold. not warm at all. and no butter. I had to ask for it. They didn't give us any plates. After they dropped us pizza and they just left. I had to go out to look for our server to give us plates. whatever we needed something, water, etc. I had to go out to look for someone. they just simply don't serve at all. and they forgot our salad too. I had to ask and the server had to ask the kitchen to do it. It wasn't crowded at all when we were there so I don't know why service was this bad....."

"I had not been to Buca di Beppo since I was ten years old and having been placed in a booth with my beautiful ex near a bustling ten year old's birthday, I thought I was being shot back into time. I felt young and comfortable with my ex-boyfriend that I had not seen in ages since the positive energy nearby just lit up the room. The food was delicious and filling that two dishes still left us with two boxes of leftovers. Overall, the restaurant, the experience, ambiance, and more was a delight that kept us and everyone else in the room in good spirits."

"Had a group get together and everything went great! Made reservations for fifteen but had to keep changing the number. They were very accommodating and said just let us know the final count that day. It ended up at seventeen but could have fit 2-3 more. The waitress was very friendly and helped suggest items and serving sizes. We opted to large on everything and had alot of food to take home, no problem! The cost of the meal was very reasonable.
Great food, Great service and reasonable pricing, what else can you ask for?"

"I took my girlfriend to Buca di Beppo for lunch on her birthday and she absolutely loved it. We both had wine and enjoyed the food. The waiter was attentive and fulfilled all our requests, including having to bring over some cake for the birthday girl. You will not be disappointed."

"This visit was for a very special occasion, our son's 16th birthday. We rented a limo to take him and his friends around SF and to and from Bucca. I didn't want adults to have to tag along or have the kids try to budget the meal and worry about money. So, I called ahead and the management was more than happy to work with me to pre order a set menu for them, but let them order their drinks, and I was able to pay via credit card over the phone with signature by fax. It was simple, easy and they made the kids' night go smoothly and fun. We are told the food was good, atmosphere great and it was a great night. I have been there before and have always had a great experience."

"With four kids, the two oldest being in college, it is rare to get everybody together at the same time. When we do, it is a special time and we want to have a big family feast somewhere special to celebrate and Bucca Di Beppo is our place!! The food is always top notch, service friendly, and if you are going to go out....why not go to The City. The only thing that can beat this experience, is after a full day at Disneyland, going to unwind at the Aneheim Buca. Great food, large portions, and fun atmosphere."

"I was disappointed that Bucas forgot to sing to my daughter since I did mention that the occasion was for her birthday dinner. We sat at the table for what seemed to be a long time and our waitress never brought any bread to our table.....we had a party of 8 hungry teenagers! Added to that, we had to constantly ask for water which is NOT OK to me. Will not be going back to Bucas anytime soon."

"Disappointing - the service was mediocre and the food was forgettable. We were a party of six which included two children. We were shown to a family size table with comfortable seating, and looked forward to an enjoyable family meal. After being served drinks and an appetizer, we were asked to move because a large party (30+) was arriving and they feared the group's language might not be appropriate for children. We were taken to a booth in another area of the restaurant that barely held us and were told that it was the only thing available. It made for a tense and crowded meal, and essentially ruined the evening."

"Overall my dining experiences at Buca di Beppo San Francisco has been good. I usually go with a group of people. I think the service is SO MUCH better now that they allow reservation and that we don't have to wait for ALL parties to be there before being seated. Unfortunately, my last experience which was last Saturday was not satisfactory. It wasn't due to a bad service or anything, in fact, it was because of the other guests. It isn't Buca's fault that some people have lack of parenting skills and their children behave so badly and extremely loud."

"My family and I were there for my birthday and we had an outstanding time. Our waiter was in top form. He went above and beyond. We were a party of 10,he also had 3 other tables with large groups. My wife and I have eaten in both Sacramento and San Fransisco. If we had to choose one we would choose Sacramento there food quality was just a bit better. Overall its outstanding."

"We were expecting a small group, but weren't sure on the exact number. The hostess quibbled over what size table to give us for five minutes at a time when there were entire sections of the restaurant that were completely empty. There was no need to be stingy with seating, and that just set the wrong tone for our visit.
The food and service were adequate. Beware the offer of garlic bread with your meal -- it's actually quite a small portion, and exorbitantly expensive, for no apparent reason. The chef uses real garlic, and doesn't hold back."

"We came here because we had family in town and left feeling a bit disappointed. I made a reservation asking to seat us in a somewhat private area and we were placed in a table barely big enough to fit our party and right next to a huge group. Our server did the minimum, he was not friendly nor personable and kind of dampered our experience. He did not make any effort to make our occasion friendly. The young lady taking pictures was nicer."

"Had reservation. Still had to wait 20 minutes to get seated. Slow service. Had to send birthday dessert back. Missing the chocolate sauce altogether! Very obvious. I don't know why it was brought to the table. It was a birthday! Not good for my 17 year old guests!! Our waiter Aaron was great but ten disappeared and we got someone else after the dessert fiasco. I will probably not go back to this restaurant. More of a pain with the wait and the mishap than a pleasure."

"Visited for dinner when staying nearby hotel. The waitress served friendly and efficient. Impressed with the caesar salad. We ordered 3 different pasta dishes, they are too much to finish at the table (packed for the breakfast next morning). One thing I do not agree to name as "authentic Italian" was lasagna, which I believe was American, too much cheese and too little meat."

"Fantastic service! I appreciated the attentiveness and politeness. Servers are sincere and don't have those fake smiles and attitudes. Food is delicious. With the healthy serving sizes it's best to come with an empty stomach. Love the decoration and setting. Great for family dinners and even just for two people. Love this place."

"Huge portions, tasty food. Service was at best, just "ok". Waiter had to be asked several times for items such as extra napkins, drinks, etc. Waiter was also not very friendly nor was he helpful to our group of 10 in recommending any food or portion sizes. Unless our waiter was new, the atmosphere of Buca is constant and should not be an indicator of what he can handle. However, food is delicious and service that was recently experienced is not an indicator of the usual."

"This is great place for large groups (10+) celebrating birthdays or just hanging out with friends. The food is good and the family style portions are great. We were there to celebrate my husband's birthday with his family (9 people) and everything went well. We ate the Apple Gorgonzola salad (our favorite) and the Mixed Green Salad and ordered the appetizer Seafood trio (just the right amount). For our main dish we had the Baked Rigatoni (sausage was on the spicy side) and the Chicken Parmigiana (delicious). To top it off my husband ordered the Colossal Brownie Sundae and it was plenty enough for all of us. Naturally, the staff sang the traditional Birthday song and he got the "big" birthday candle opera! All and all it was a fun evening!"
