Binkley's Kitchen & Bar
From 1928 until the early 70s, the corner of Kessler and College was home to Binkley's Drug Store, which served the booming Broad Ripple, Forest Hills and Meridian Kessler neighborhoods. Scores of youngsters got their first fountain drink, milkshake, banana split and, yes, cough medicine at Binkley's. Years later, many of those same youngsters stopped in to buy their first baby formula, fifth anniversary card and seventh pair of Foster Grants. Now Binkley's returns to serve these same neighbors as a restaurant, bar, and meeting place. As did our namesake, we plan to have something for everyone, offering a full menu of home made appetizers, salads, pizza, sandwiches and entrées, and a huge variety of drink options. We're dedicated to once again making this little corner of the world an important part of your social life. We hope you enjoy what we've done to reclaim this building.

"I want to love Binkley's, I really do. Unfortunately the last several times I have visited they have let me down. I live in the area and want this restaraunt to be better than just convenient. Service is a constant dissappointment. Long wait times to order translate into even longer wait times for food. Infrequent check-ins with the table transform easy to satify needs into the focus of conversation at the table. Twice I have brought out of town guests to Binkley's, the last time we ended up walking out after waiting over 45 minutes at the table without even a drink while staff debated whose table we were.. This time (it has been 18 months since my last visit) The food was great but service was just as inattentive. But we did get served."

"The four of us enjoyed a wonderful early evening dinner at Binkley's on our way to the new Howard Shrott Center at Butler to hear the Indianapolis Chamber Orchestra. Dinner was relaxing and delicious. Our friends were able to split an entree and had more than enough with a dinner salad. My husband and I enjoyed entree salads. All was fabulous! With attentive service, as well, Binkley's never fails to saisfy!"

"Made the reservation for a low-key Bachelorette Party for my youngest. Our server was great! The food... surprisingly... not so much. One person had the breaded tenderloin. It was cold and the fries were old, cold and greasy. I had the pulled pork sandwich. Way too much BBQ sauce and the fries were old, cold and greasy too. The bride to be and her best friend both had the 10" margherita pizza. They said it was ok. No flavor. Two others had stuffed chicken with mushroom and proscuitto wrapped chicken. It was very good and the correct temperature. I was very disappointed as I was the one that had suggested we go to Binkley's. It wasn't busy, so there was no excuse for the cold food."

"Binkley's seems to be doing everything right. Great food and service. The bar and restaurant are cleanly separated. Parking can be a problem during rush, but there is plenty of street parking. This is a neighborhood joint, so many customers aren't driving anyway."

"A group went there for lunch after church services. Everyone at our table enjoyed their food very much. I believe we all ordered from the lunch (not brunch) menu. "I would like to see a few more veggie side dishes to allow for a veggie plate. Being prediabetic. I would prefer that over the fried food. Wine list on red still to heavy on tanic cab's and few merlot's I would drink. If I am going to blow my carbs it needs to be on something I really like.

"Why do we always return to Binkleys when in this part of town? Because they consistently deliver tasty meals at reasonable prices with excellent service. "My family had our Easter brunch here and my husband and I are also regulars during the week. Normally the staff are super friendly and helpful but I don't know if they were all upset to be there on Easter but our waitress was not really either of those. She wasn't rude but since they were doing a buffet we had to have fresh plates to go back up and she seemed irritated that we asked for a pair of new plates. Other than that all was good!"

"Binkley's is one of our favorites - a "regular" place to go and enjoy good food and feel like you belong. Great menu, great service, great prices. We come in from Carmel at least once a month because it is that good!"

"A very nice restaurant with some tasty food. The service was really outstanding, especially for lunch when many comparable restaurants slack off a little. Our server did a great job and really made sure that we had a nice lunch."

"We like Binkley's overall. The food has always been quite good with ample amounts. One feature we do like is that one does see people of all ages, families with small children as well as older children plus on up to seniors (which we are). Although we do not live at all nearby, it does give the feel of a neighborhood place for those who do. What does always bother us is the noise level; difficult to have a conversation without feeling the need to yell. It's one reason why we do not go there more frequently. Another problem has been the temperature; frequently very chilly. This last time I bundled because of that and we ended being seated by the fireplace :-)"

"Food was excellent! Binkley's always surprises--not just typical pub/bar food, although they have great burgers and fries. I had swordfish with bluecheese topping which was excellent. Everyone in the group had a different entree (BBQ, mahi mahi and pasta to round out our group) and all enjoyed them. We lucked out and visited on a night that bottles of wine were $10 off as well--great value. Overall, a great dining experience."

"We mostly go to Binkley's when there is a Butler game. I have used open table before when going there and it works out perfect.
Thank you and continued success. We were able to use an Open Table reservation while in Florida last month.
If we lived closer to Binkley's we would go there more often."

"This is the second time I have gone in the past week because I thoroughly enjoyed the entire experience. The food is outstanding and comes at a really good price. Their hand-tossed pizzas have an amazing taste compared to most restaurants. I went on Valentine's Day with my girlfriend, and I enjoyed it so much that I brought my parents there when they visited me from home. It has very quickly become my favorite restaurant in the Indianapolis area."

"We thoroughly enjoyed Binkley's. We had a large group, but used Open Table to reserve our table. The restauarnt was busy, but we had excellent service and the food was particularly good. Moderately priced, but large serving sizes. The ladies in the group all had left overs."

"Creative edge on basic bar food. We had calamari and then the mushroom pizza with a thin crust. The dipping sauce for the squid was exceptionally tasty. We had white wines and I am a stickler for a generous pour when drinking wine. The bar at Binkley's does not disappoint, Great service, well managed bar. A bit noisy, but we choose to sit in the bar rather then the main dining room. Overall great ladies night out."

"Binkley's has a nice atmosphere and a large variety of lunch items to select from. I love this place and their prices are reasonable. My only negative comment is the last two times I have been I had the same server who wasn't the friendliest. I am not sure serving is the right job for him. The first time I thought he was borderline rude. This late visit he just seemed to not like his job or something..."
