"Not too well organized. Service was slow. Staff was very pleasant. Server brought bread to table, after a long delay, and not enough for everyone in our group. Food ho-hum. Did not get the sense that there was manager/maitre-d there making sure things worked well."

"Recently had dinner here. Food was good, but took far too long to arrive. The place was not busy, so no excuse there. Would not recommend unless you like very long/slow dinners and have no plans afterwards."

"Very dissatisfied with our Mother's Day brunch. Not only did we wait almost an hour for our meals but, When they arrived one was lukewarm at best and two overdone. Wait staff was slow as well. The saving grace was the beautiful view of the Willamette. My suggestion is to come for a drink at the bar, enjoy The view and save your money."

"We had a reservation, but arrived very early with the desire to sit outside on the deck and enjoy the view. We were allowed to grab a table outside and spent two glorious hours enjoying the ambiance, sipping wine and people watching before the rest of our dinner party arrived. The service was outstanding, the food divine. Do not hesitate to spend a happy hour or meal here!"

"We went here because we were staying at the Edgewood Hotel. I ordered the pan seared scallops, potatoes, and cauliflower. I got 3 scallops, one cauliflower leaf split in fours, and hash brown like potato shavings that did not amount to even half a red small red potato. I thought they mistakenly given me the appetizer. My mother-in-law preferred the same. It was $23 dish. My wife ordered the the Pasta With Spelt noodles and the dish was colorless and all beige. My daughter ordered the buttered noodles with cheese. It came out as buttered macaroni noodles without butter. The waitress insisted it had cheese in it. Finally, she brought out some grated Parmesan cheese to add to it. I will NOT go back or recommend it."

"We visited this restaurant with a Sharing Spree Voucher I had purchased. It is common knowledge in Portland now that sharing spree is not living up to their contracts. Auariva honored the voucher for it's face value which I understand. The waitress was excellent throughout!"

"It was a pleasant experience. The food was good, our table next to the window looking out at the river was great, and noise level was quiet so we could have a normal conversation. Both the bet salad and the raspberry salads were fresh and tasty. The roasted chicken was done perfectly. It was tender and juicy inside while the skin was nice and crispy. The rack of lamb was very tasty with the tomato pesto. Prices were reasonable for what we were getting. Overall, we were happy with our meal and experience and would definitely return again to try some of the other dishes."

"Great view of the Willamette river. Food is very good and not overly expensive. It is a "fancy restaurant" so prices reflect this. We had crab, avocado and cheese omelettes that was chock full of good fresh Dungeness crab for only $15. Had flat breads with carmelized onions and cheese at happy hour recently. It was delicious. And I must repeat the view is spectacular."

"We had not been here since it was the Rusty Pelican. Parking still is an issue. Kara our server was great. She was friendly, very knowledgeable of the menu and wine/beer list and attentive and gracious to every table she served. We split a number of items to be able to have room for dessert. The portions were small but delicious. Home made pheasant pasta was superb. The pork tenderloin was excellent. Kara suggested the triple chocolate cake and it was a great choice. We definitely will go back once we figure out where to park!"

"This is about my 5th time to Aquariva for brunch. All my earler visits went just fine. We were welcomed with the news that we would have a long wait for a table even though I had made reservation more than a week in advance. We did get seated fairly soon as I was not willing to accept the snub. Service was very slow and we could see most waited long for bar and food service. Our food finaly was served but all looked and tasted dry as though it had been sitting too long before served. The Bloody Mary Bar never did have bacon or shrimp as all previous visits did."

"The service was good and the food was really good, although of 6 oysters, only 1 had been completely disengaged from the shell. The beet salad was absolutely amazing. I was disappointed that the only Sauvignon Blanc wine on the wine list was apparently not available, although the following day the barman, Shea, told us that there had been plenty available the night before. We went back for happy hour the next day, which was great. And Shea was an amazing barman. I would definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone visiting Portland."

"The food at this restaurant seems to be declining. I've been here many times and the food used to be fantastic. The last two times I was there, I was very disappointed. The Valentine's Day prix fixe dinner was bad and my brunch this last weekend was just okay. It's really too bad. The waiter on this last visit was not very good, but he was new and tried very hard to make up for his problems. I do love the location and interior though."

"We stayed at the River's Edge Hotel & Spa, which is next door to Aquariva, so we dined there several times and had a different menu selection each time. We also enjoyed Sunday brunch there. Every single item we had was nothing short of awesome!! The service was excellent, as well. Our favorite server was Alexandra. She was so attentive and fun, and treated us so well at each visit. We would highly recommend this restaurant!!"

"Creative menu with fantastic flavor combinations. Good wine list, beautiful setting, friendly, courteous service, especially from our server, Maggie, who was very professional but also warm and genuine. We intended to go somewhere else the second night of our stay at Water's Edge but went back to Aquariva for another great food experience. Portions are not large but neither are prices. Gives you room for appetizers."

"Romantic setting, excellent service. Fine beet salad and salumi starters, though we would recommend thinner slicing of the the meats. Entrees tasty, and cooked as ordered (duck and lamb rack). Passion fruit gelato for dessert was flavorful, refreshing, and not too sweet. Reasonable corkage."

"We both ordered the rack of lamb for we both enjoy lamb. We also ordered 2 glasses of wine. When the wine showed up it was a little uneven on the serving. One glass had about 3 oz. in it and the other had about 5 oz in it. When we got our meals witch were plated very nice but the lamb was sliced very thin and the rack looked like it came from a baby lamb. Very small pieces of meat on the bone. One bite compaired to a regular rack that you can get at least two to three bites off a bone. For $35. it was a dissapointing and a let down for a special night out."

"I would have given 5 stars for the food and overall ratings, however the desserts were disappointing. Of the three we ordered, one was great - the red velvet cake - but the other two were just not very good. We sent one back and the other just sort of nibbled on it.
However, the salads & main entrees were fantastic.
Wait staff was great."

"The food was very good. We had the filet mignonette and rack of lamb. Cooked perfectly! Portions were fine. Wine list, while lots of choices, was a bit expensive. Service was very good, attentive, but not hovering. Tables are too close together, did not like sitting in the narrow strip of the main dining room. Would definitely request a booth or window table. Great place overall for a special occasion dinner."

"The address as listed for Aquavira was incorrect. The management stated they were sorry but there are 3 different addresses for the restaurant!(?) Once we arrived, I ordered a Wild Turkey with a splash of 7 but it came back as something quite different. The server "Maggie" told us that their mixologist evidently ran out of Wild Turkey and attempted to substitute something else without saying anything to her. Later, Maggie came back to our table to tell us that the mixologist was really impressed with me because he tried to substitute something else but he got caught!? Is this how to run a business? I called the manager later that evening and she apologized. She offered to buy me a free drink if I came back in sometime (20 miles?) Wow"

"We arrived for a 5:30 dinner reservation on a Wednesday. The bar was decently busy and people appeared to be having an enjoyable time. We dined in the restaurant. The menu is typical NW fresh with a little something for everyone. Our server appeared to be new but eager to do a good job; if it had been a busier evening or time, she may have had some difficulty. But this was not an issue for us, everyone has to learn sometime. The view at this restaurant is nice, even in the winter months. I'm a native Portlander so I remember when Aquariva was The Rusty Pelican. Overall a pleasant experience."

"I've been here twice, both for anniversary dinners and have loved it both times. There has not been a single item on the menu that I've been dissatisfied with. The service was friendly and timely. About my only complaint is the parking situation but that has nothing to do with the meal itself. I highly recommend this restaurant and I hope it's around for next years anniversary."

"We always enjoy Aquariva. Their Happy Hour is great. Last night's dinner was very good, though the lamb osso bucco was on the small side. Maybe a woman would have like that size portion, but for a guy, it was piddling. Thank goodness we had Happy Hour to start. The Beet Salad is one of the best in Portland. Cream of Potatoe and Leek soup with bacon was perfect for a cold winter night. Filet was cooked perfectly. So other than the skimpy portion, as always it was very good."
