"First time dining during Eddie's Brunch. There was an EXCELLENT selection of food. I thought the food could have been a bit warmer, but I know "buffet style" isn't really their speciality. Service was good. The bloody mary's were TERRIBLE, but that's just a personal taste, I thought there was way too much horseradish. Over all it was "good", especially for a Mother's Day treat, but I probably wouldn't return for a brunch special. It was a little pricey for the quality...4 Brunches, 4 Bloody Mary's and 2 cups of coffee was $200."

"This the second year we have taken my Mom to Eddie Merlot's for Mother's Day brunch. The food is always excellent and the staff is great. The complimentary valet guys were great and very helpful with taking the wheelchair out of the trunk and helping us into the restaurant. We had a wonderful time."

"We had a memorable experience at Eddie Merlot's. Considering that we eat out often, that's pretty rare. Our requests communicated through Open Table were completely and discreetly handled. Our waiter was very attentive and professional. He made excellent recommendations when it became difficult to make choices from a menu that had many attractive options. The food was excellent. One reason I chose Eddie Merlot's was because of their children's menu; in fact I cancelled another reservation after comparing on-line. I don't really like the decor -- it's a little too garish for me, but the layout is good and tables are appropriately distanced. It looks like they have a nice small plates menu, too."

"Great steaks, but the special entrees really shine. Sides are large enough to share 1 between two people. Great chopped salad. It's a little pricy, but not terrible. About 120 for a bottle of wine, salad, two entrees, and two sides. It is much more modern than other steak houses in the area, and a cool feel. Request a side booth, they are cozy!"

"I enjoyed Eddie and Merlot tremendously. It was my second visit after about 5 years. I definitely don't plan to stay away another 5 years I will be back next week or sooner. The amosphere is very elegant, romantic and classic. The food is exceptional as well as the service. Ask for George he knows his stuff."

"The Steak Diane prepared tableside was delicious and Janet provided knowledgeable and attentive service. From the wonderful salad to the after dinner coffee with extras including a cinnamon stick, whipped cream and chocolate chips, every aspect of our dining experience exceeded our expectations!"

"We celebrated a 60th birthday and had two children with us. Normally I would not suggest small children at a nicer restaurant, but Eddie Merlot's was wonderful. Very willing to have fun with the children by setting the smoke filled shrimp cocktail in front of the 4th grader who was amazed. They also brought a children's crab cake out early for our 14 month old grandchild, who LOVED it and wanted more. Dinner was excellent as always."

"Food was just average for price as wife's lobster tails was cool when served and potato was still crunchy. Waiter that brought food dropped a serving spoon and instead of going to get a new one and bring it back he just took it and never came back! after waiting over 10 minutes figured out he wasn't coming back and had to flag down another waiter to get us a spoon. For the cost and the service we received their is better places like Peterson's and others on North side."

"I was there on Easter Sunday for dinner; Sundays are usually slow, but it was very slow. I ate in the bar, which was empty. The service was excellent and the food as usual was also excellent. The pork chop I had was cooked perfectly and it was very meaty and flavorful. The wine choices were outstanding and since they will cork the wine for take home, it pays to get a bottle. Once again a great eating experience."

"Eddie Merlots has been one of my favorite restaurant for several years and I was really looking forward to Easter Brunch there. I specifically chose a time that wasn't at the end of their serving hours(1:00pm), since many buffets are at their worst at the end. The food, in general, was not hot (some dishes were actually cold)as many of the sterno flames had gone out. Out of all the desserts that were offered, only bananas foster was left. We ordered coffee to go with dessert, but were finished with dessert by the time we got the coffee, as they had to wait for cups to be washed. Thinking that they just hadn't planned well enough, I was stunned to see fresh food/desserts being delivered to the buffet tables at 2:00 pm. Very Disappointed!"

"First time we have had bad service. We usually dine 2-3 times a year there, food and service have been outstanding. It was very obvious that unless you were drinking alcohol our server and the manager considered us less than those who endulged. That was disappointing."

"Third visit 5 weeks. Service 2 of the 3 visits (same waitress) the service was horrific; not poor, horrific. A waiter serving tables near ours helped out on the last visit. He knew there was a problem and tried to rectify. This was a special occasion and as the hostess I was unhappy and embarrassed. We spent over $300 and left unhappy. Once is unfortunate. Twice, simply unforgivable in a high-end restaurant. Won't return!"
