"We've always enjoyed visiting your winery and finally made a point to come and eat at the restaurant. Your place is the perfect distance from Greensboro (NC) to make the trip seem special. The buffet was good and reasonably priced, even if you add in the 4 bottles of wine I had to buy the wife afterwards."

"Many of the hot food bins were extremely low. I went back three times and faced the same thing. However, this would not deter us from coming again.
On the upside, we have Celiac Disease. The chef was extremely helpful and pointed out that a large number of the patron ate wheat and gluten free. It was a comfortable event as my wife is extremely cautious. We ate with great pleasure with no concerns for health.

"Makes you feel like you are in Alsace-Lorraine in France. The building is designed to model a French chateau, henace the name. They have a wonderful set of wines from their own winery and since the owners are dog lovers, all the wines have dog-themed names and labels. That said, the wines are quite good and go with the splendid menu. We sat outdoors on the evening before father's day. I made the reservation on Thursday and the only choices left were 5:45 and 8:00 - so book ahead. We took the early seating, which was great for beautiful views and pictures. The fried green tomatoes were wonderful, then salmon and smoked chicken dinners, then key lime pit and cocount cake, Worth traveling and staying in Meadows of Dan to experience."

"The service and food have been very good upon each dinning experience we have had a Chateau Morrisette. You can dine outside or inside and each gives you a special dinning experience. We drive thirty five miles to enjoy the great food and wine. You will not be disappointed."

"Dining on the deck in warmer months is a must-do. The views of Black Ridge and Buffalo Mountain are definitely worth it. Also, a wine tasting in the winery building before the meal is a great way to choose a favorite wine to complement the excellent cuisine.
Overall, the restaurant has great food at reasonable prices. It is great for both families and couples, is not too loud, and offers a good range of foods. I highly recommend it."

"We were disappointed in our meal at Chateau Morrisette. The bread was old and dry. French onion soup was rich but salty. My husbands ribeye was thin and tough. My filet was much better than his but not memorable. Vegetables were bland. The restaurant itself was warm - the doors were open and I overheard a staff member say 'I don't think our air conditioning is working' The highlight of the evening was the wait staff - our waitress was Sherry and she was wonderful."

"We arrived for our 1pm reservation time and were told that several walk-ins had recently been seated. We were handed menus, taken to a couch and offered free wine. After 10 minutes we were led to our table only to wait another 20 minutes for the waitress to take our lunch order.
The back wait, however, was awesome. He brought us two baskets of bread, kept our water glasses topped, and even provided non-iced water for my European in-laws.
The food is terrific and the view amazing, but don't come hungry."

"26 for brunch is a bit expensive but well worth it for a thick slice of tasty prime rib, fresh made in front of you omlet or pancakes, delicious other options and the best dessert bar i have ever had. Great for special occasions but make a reservation as sometimes they can get very busy."

"I've always loved the CM food but on this last visit, I discovered very little that I could eat. I.e., fewer vegetarian entrees.
The veggie quesadilla was not available. I don't do dairy either, so that was certainly a factor.
I would suggest the chef consider a tofu or tempeh substitute for the meat in some entrees. Would certainly make me visit more often."

"We took my sister here for brunch on her first Mother's Day and were thrilled with our meal; my sister felt well celebrated. Our server was friendly and attentive and the food was delicious - diverse with all the old standbys (pancakes, omelets, etc.) and some unusual new favorites (some sort of corn bread salad - surprisingly good). The best part of course is the outstanding view of the Blue Ridge Mountains via the massive windows in the dining room. Don't forget to follow up the meal with a wine tasting next door!"

"We had friends out of town for the long weekend and took them to Chateau Morrisette. We had multiple kids of different ages with us. Even though we were there 10min early the table was ready and the staff was friendly. We really liked the food (we were there for Sunday brunch) - it was outstanding and even for people with dietary restrictions there were plenty of options. The brunch was one of the highlights of our friends' trip."

"I've been to this winery multiple times,and I love it. My family and I visit about 4 or 5 times a year. Its a gorgeous drive, and we love the wine! We have eaten in the restaurant a few times, and found the prices to be reasonable, and the service great. This past visit we made reservations for the restaurant, however, we were unaware they were only doing a buffet for the day until we sat down. We weren't really in the mood for a lot of food, but we were already there so we decided to stay. When we found out it was $30 a person for a mediocre lunch PLUS gratuity for non existent service, we felt a little duped. I was really disappointed in the whole dining experience this past weekend."

"The room felt like we were in the room held for the Rotary meetings (nothing against Rotarians). There were chairs stacked in the corner, the other furniture was worn and torn. The floor was not attended to and there was food and other unidentified items under chairs and around tables.
I'm VERY attentive when out so some of this may seem petty but:
Server was very pleasant.
Sommelier spilled BOTH glasses of sparking wine as pouring (Accidents happen but then he didn't clean the table).
Electric boxes painted over and visible on walls (hang a picture!).
Food was good but just shy of great. Word in the dining room and in town was "new chef".
Seemed to lack overall management and a vision of if they want to be fine dining or just okay."

"Have been here for Sunday Brunch 3 times and Lunch once. Can't wait to try it for Dinner! Food is nicely prepared and presented and not cold when supposed to be warm! Wait staff is very pleasant and helpful. Right off the Blue Ridge Parkway, the view is awesome! We especially like that a variety of meat is offered. This past Sunday my husband had a piece of salmon, some catfish and a small piece of prime rib all of which he said were very good; I had prime rib and baked chicken and I was able to get a thigh which I much prefer over a breast. My husband went back for seconds on the Collard Greens which he declared "wonderful". None of our party had the Virginia Ham, or Quiche. All of the other dishes and desserts we tried were very good."

"There are not many dining options in this area of Virginia, and this restaurant does a good job with a variety of menu items. It won't be the best restaurant you've ever dined in, but it certainly won't be the worst. You would think with it being a winery that the wine would be good. In my opinion, the wine is decent at best.
The restaurant staff were very pleasant and accommodating."

"Our son just graduated from VT in Blacksburg, and we were looking for a nice restaurant to take our group of 6 to celebrate. A friend of ours who is from the area told us 4 years ago when our son started VT to go to Chateau Morisette if we had the chance. We are happy we went. The food, from appetizers to dessert, was great. The server was very attentive and knowlegable. She didn't steer us wrong on any of her suggestions. The only negative of the whole experience was the drive to the restaurant. The last 6 miles of roads were very narrow and twisting (it is in the Blue Ridge Mountains) and fog set in. We had a very enjoyable and lesurely 2 1/2 hour meal and were very satisfied with the experience."

"This was my first time to Chateau Morrisette and it was totally enjoyable. My only disappointment was that we got there a little too late to have wine tasting at the winery. We enjoyed our meals and bought a bottle of wine and a wine glass to bring home.

"I recently graduated with my masters from Virginia Tech and decided that heading to Chateau would be a great way to spend this afternoon. I came there with my friends and family and had a great time. everyone that provided service was happy and very helpful. My waiter was extremely enthusiastic about the food and made everything seem exciting before even trying it. Once we did actually have our food it was clear whywhy he was so enthusiastic. From the bread to the dinner to the desert to the wine everything was great. I will look back on my graduation day with happy memories."

"Third time here the food is good, the view is excellent. My parents were in town and we brought them, they liked it. They have changed the menu a bit since I was last there, it didn't seem to be better or worse than the old one. There were a ton of giant groups for graduation weekend but the resturant did such a good job managing them you could barely tell, they managed to quarantine all the noise quite well."

"This was my first trip to Chateau Morrisette, and I fell in love with it! The dinner was absolutely delicious and served attractively. The setting was lovely. I can't wait until it warms up a bit to go back and have dinner outside with that lovely view. Our waitress was impressive with her memorization and sweet nature. "You have to travel a quite treacherous journey in order to get to Chateau Morrisette. The winding roads are enough to make you drink the wine! Our service was extraordinary. The wine was amazing. I would absolutely recommend this restaurant to anyone. It's located in a beautiful area and the inside of the restaurant has a very romantic feel. Their ice cream is die to for! In fact, all their desserts are delicious."

"Was greeted with a smile and welcome when we entered. Was seated quickly and immediatly provided water and a bread basket. Excellent waiter who was very friendly and knowledgable. Food was excellent with ample portions. Wine was served at the proper temerature. Deserts are made in house and to die for!! The prices are extremely fair."

"The Sunday we went fog and rain covered the mountain top. The temperature was a balmy 39 degrees.The view was non existent due to the fog. Inside was warm and cozy making us want to linger over brunch. Now to the food, the prime rib was excellent and the omelets cooked just perfectly. The dessert table was another favorite with many rich pastries. The only thing missing was music not loud obnoxious music but more the chamber type quiet and soothing. We had a wonderful time."
