"We had a great Sunday breakfast. Extensive menu with wide selection of delectable dishes.
Our server Armando was attentive, yet allowed us to be at our leisurely pace.
The lanai was a perfect setting to enjoy glorious weather and beach scene.
We enjoyed the ambiance of casual romantic elegance.
We'll definitely be back for more good food, great service and one of a kind location."

"Food is overpriced and tastes horrible. My sandwich was bland and my friend's burger meat tasted weird like something was wrong with it. She told the waiter and he took it off the bill. It sits on the beach but its not a great view. The restaurant is set up cute but they need to work on better food."

"HTL is a very nice, scenic place to eat dinner on the beach. Very professional service and ambiance. This was my 2nd time eating here in the last few months. And for the second time the food is very underwhelming and, therefore over priced. The experience is tolerable because of the view but if you are expecting a top notch dinner, be prepared to be disappointed. I had the mixed grilled seafood dinner. No taste, rubbery lobster, scallops and shrimp. The fish wash reasonable. For $42, not good. FYI, I am usually tolerable to less the desireable restaurant experiences. But in this case, just be aware. Soak up the view, grab a snack later, because youll still be hungry.

"Ocean-view, quiet, and kinda pricy. Staff was good. Service not so bad. I had made a special dessert request but they couldn't do it. I guess because the pastry chefs weren't available yet because we didn't come for lunch. We came for breakfast. So that made me disappointment because they couldn't meet my request nor at least substitute for what I requested. Food... good to come here occasionally."

"Hau Tree Lanai was recommended to us and I make the same to others. Took college grad to celebrate completion of school. Had a perfect table at beach edge of restaurant. Had 6:00 pm reservations which was perfect to watch the sunset. Each ordered different fish and followed waiter's recommendations. Each were excellent and the portions were perfect."

"That was my first time to have an egg benedict in my life. We had an egg benedict kaimana and an egg benedict salmon flourence. Both are really fantastic! This restaurant was smaller than I had thought. But it has very nice view. Also, it was really quiet. In this restaurant, you can have an unforgettable brunch!!!"

"I heard about his place since years, finally got a chance to go. It was beautiful to sit vitually out on the beach, so very nice and soothing live solo guitar music in the background, nice timing, food was perfect... really nothing to complain about. I can't even really think of anything they could improve on. Great overall experience and will certainly be back!"

"We arrived for our 1215p reservation a bit early (1155) to find the restaurant wasn't even open yet
Their sign said open at 1145a
We waited about 10mins along with about 20 others who were there
Finally seated the food wasn't very good & prices were expensive
The view of the beach was nice..plenty of other places that can be found..."

"The view alone is worth dining here. You sit on a shaded outdoor patio that has hau trees for shade. You have a beautiful beach view of the San Souci ( without care) beach. These are the same trees that have been here for over one hundred years and were on the porch of a royal Hawaiian beach home decades ago. We both had the furikake ahi sandwich with a fresh pineapple side. That is the best grilled ahi (tuna) sandwich I have had anywhere in the world.
Anybody that complains about this place has something very wrong with their being."

"The Hau Tree Lanai has been a family favorite for 30 years. Situated right on the beach with the beautiful Hau tree above your head it's a wonderful way to start the day. The Eggs Benedict comes in several variations each one delicious. The poi pancakes with coconut syrup are outstanding and the corned beef hash is the best. The service is always gracious and attentive."

"Not enough character to write a full review. I posted on Yelp.
Food and Beverage Manager was "host"-no smile, no "good morning" or "hello". He approached the podium, picked up 2 menus and asked,"What time is your reservation", walked us to the table, placed the menus on the table and left...not very warm or welcoming. Server was fine.
Food mediocre, tasteless.
Other staff were quite crude. When we motioned to get their attention, he approached our table and said very roughly "What you want?" What happened to "How can I help you?" or "Is there something I can do for you?""

"Food was outstanding. We had soup and eggs Benedict and barely finished. We both had a mimosa, nothing notable about the drinks. Our waiter was a bit inattentive and the servers kept getting water all over the table. There was a small (10 person) wedding party there, so that probably impacted the service. The atmosphere really can't be beat. You're right on a quiet beach with gorgeous Hau Trees providing shade. At night, they light up the trees with nice mood lighting."

"My patient has recommended this place for years. I'm glad I finally tried it &will make it a point to dine here each time I travel back to Waikiki. It is my favorite restaurant in Hawaii. The food was phenomenal, the lounge music was fabulous. Our waiter was great but the female waitress handling beverages forgot my son's drink, finally came back with it 30 minutes after she was reminded about it."

"With a second home in the Honolulu area, we are always looking for another outstanding restaurant. This one hit the mark! As the sun set, our table gave us a perfect view overlooking Ka'amina Beach. There were 5 of 6 choices in their fresh fish with 4 different choices in preparations and flavorings. Not set in one of the newest fancier hotels, we found this hidden gem a better bargain, less touristy, better service and incomparable to most. Desserts were the let down. Almost store bought quality, suggest an alternate in this department. Definitely will return for dinner! Ask for one of the ocean view tables."

"現地到着後、3日前にスマホで予約しました。平日だったせいか、待ち時間はなく、希望通り8：00にビーチサイドのテーブルでした。
エッグベネディクトとフレンチトーストをオーダーし、どちらも美味しくいただきました。
食べ終わった後もコーヒーを飲みながら海や空や太陽やビーチを眺めるという至福の時間が過ごせました。
料理というよりも、雰囲気を味わうためにもう一度行きたいレストランです。
たしかにほぼ日本人でしたが、それほど気になりませんでした。"

"Breakfast was good. Staff is friendly. View is awesome! Price is like everything else in Honolulu...Ridiculously high. If you understand that going in you'll be fine. There aren't too many places near here to eat within a short walk (closest is about 1.5 miles) and they know it. Don't drive either, there isn't anywhere to park in waikiki. BTW, the hotel charges $24/day for valet parking."

"DO NOT dine at Hau Tree Lanai if you dislike impeccable service, superb food, killer wine and beverages, romantic guitar music,to die for Ambiance and out of this world sunset, sunrise views dotted with mainsails skimming across the horizon. From Jay's warm and cordial welcoming to the excellent service provided by Alan, our dining experience was simply the best we've ever had. That is saying a LOT for two people who have had a decade and more working in the food and hospitality industries.

If you have a bucket list, you need to add Hau Tree Lanai to the top of it; If you don't
have one, it's time you do, and start with a visit to Hau Tree Lanai."
