"After being promised a table next to the window for our anniversary dinner, we arrived and waited 20 mins before being seated right next to the bright, noisy kitchen at a table with 10 inches of space on either side. We would practically be eating dinner with the ppl next to us. When we requested a better table, we were seated at an even worse table that was practically in the kitchen. We decided to leave, and told the manager why and he was really snooty about it. We weren't about to pay $200 and sit at a noisy table where we can't hear each other talk. I always loved the glowbal restaurants, but being the 3rd time this has happened I have no desire to go back to any of them. There are too many other amazing restaurants in Vancouver."

"I'd recommend the fusili lunghi. It's fusili in oregano cream and panchetta. The fusili was firm, so if you like softer noodles, request to have them cooked longer. My friend raved about the Ochi from lupo, but I didn't find it that satisfying despite of t lamb and sausage. My other friend didn't like her margherita pizza. I didn't like it either. The ingredients were fresh, but it was bland. Italian Kitchen did call me for feedback and they are taking care of the pizza the next time I'm in there."

"Every few months, when I go back to Italian Kitchen, I am reminded not to go back because of its terrible service. The managers are great, but the servers are terrible. The food is delicious, but the servers make the dining experience terrible. One time, the server literally ignored my friend and I. This recent time, the server was busy popping open a bottle of champagne and was unfriendly to me. Whenever I said "thank you," she would not even bother to reciprocate this common courtesy. The only time she said "thank you" was when I paid the bill. She did not follow up with asking "How was the food?" or any standard kind of small talk. In fact, I was given the impression that she didn't even want to serve me. Terrible. Unacceptable service."

"If it wasn't for the Staff I would give this place a lower rating. For the same price or less, there are several other restaurants around that focus on real Italian food. Presentation is very important here but the focus on the actual quality of the food is lost."

"First time coming to this restaurant,, which just happened to be on a holiday. The atmosphere was pleasant and servers were very friendly. The menus had good variety and the large wine menu definitely caught my attention. We had appetizers, pastas, wine, and dessert. The food was very good, but the dessert at the end was definitely the best part of the night. I highly recommend giving this restaurant a try!"

"This was our second time eating at Italian Kitchen. We had the pasta platter, a good way to try 4 different types of pasta. Daniel was our waiter that evening, and he was very accommodating to our requests. We will definitely eat at Italian Kitchen when we visit Vancouver again, and try the rest of Glowbal's restaurants.
We have to mention something about the noise level - it was energetic, but one table (actually, it was one man) made it very unpleasant by talking (more like shouting) very loudly. We could see other patrons were not pleased either."

"I have sampled several of the Italian Kitchen's pasta dishes over the past few years and all have been excellent. My favourite is still the spaghetti with their signature meatballs. The staff are upbeat, friendly and courteous. At lunch time, if you are in a hurry, they can get you in and out in less than an hour even if you don't order the items which they promise a 45 minute turn around time for. That said, if you have time, savour the food and pair it with a glass (or two) of wine from their many selections."

"Went for a pre-show dinner here and ordered the pasta platter for the 3 of us. We only managed to eat half of the platter, but all the pasta was really good, especially the pesto gnocchi & linguine gamberi! And the meatballs were awesome! We got to chatting a bit and unfortunately learned that the meatballs are best eaten when hot! The only thing that prevented a full 5 stars was the spacing around our table was a bit squishy and we are by no means large people! We were seated downstairs so maybe upstairs is a little roomier?"

"Our party of four were seated next to three people who were extremely loud and loud - did I mention loud? Really took awya from n otherwise great evening. I would have thought that the waiter might ask them to quiet down a bit but that didnt happen. "After being recommended to try the Italian Kitchen by a fellow foodie I was looking forward to some great Italian cooking and in this way I was 'teased' appropriately. I ordered the Calamari as a starter and LOVED it! It was tender, perfectly done and had some great flavors! I was therefore really looking forward to my main dish which was the spaghetti and Signature meatballs ... the spaghetti was OK but the spaghetti sauce was a bit bland. I therefore looked to the meatballs to redeem my dining experience - the meatballs had some spice (which I liked) but totally lacked flavor and were very dense and dry (had to dip them in the sauce to eat). Definitely a disappointment after the rave reviews and recommendations I had received ...."

"Excellent service and fabulous food! Highly recommend the meatballs with truffle spaghetti. Our waitress was personable, friendly and very professional. Seated upstairs near the window overlooking Alberni St, it was a bright dining experience with no ambient noise from the bar below. We had two birthdays in our party that night and the staff came out with complimentary desserts and gave us their wishes. Overall a very enjoyable experience and will definitely be a returning customer!"

"We came to Italian Kitchen to celebrate our 35th Wedding Anniversary and had a wonderful time. The food was excellent, the staff were very friendly yet professional, and we had a lovely corner booth on the main level so we were able to have privacy. We shared the Seafood Platter which was wonderful and had a lovely bottle of Italian Pinot Grigio. Because it was our special Anniversary, our server arranged for a delicious Prawn Appy, brought us each a lovely flute of Champagne and finished off with "to die for" Tiramisu and fresh, hot doughnut holes - we could not have had a nicer experience. Many thanks! Also, we really liked having the Valet Parking. Where else can you park downtown for $12 and have the luxury of that service?"

The service this time around was on queue. Joe the server was very energetic and attentive to our needs. "Everything we had, from mocktails to side salads were delicious incarnations of the menus promises. Their caprese salad is far beyond any capreses salad you've had outside Italy, thanks to house made varieties of mozzarella. The pastas we had were fantastic. Big portions."

"I am a regular patron of the global family. The service was the disappointing part of my usual experience with IK. The lunch hour started off great, until I brought out the complimentary appy. The smile became more of a grin. Until the bill came and we then presented a discount that was offered for lunch and I used a GC to pay for the meal, the server demeanor completely changed. The smile was completely gone and the attitude was way up. Upon departure of the restaurant, not even a good bye or a good day was offered even though she was right at the door. The hostess on the other hand gave a very warm goodbye. This made it more pronounced on the change in attitude from our server. Good news, this experience won't stop me from coming back."

"Our experience was fantastic; right when we arrived we were seated at a nice table. The server soon after greeted us and brought us water. He was very friendly. Our appetizer, an insalata mista, was served in the right amount of time. We really enjoyed it. I was very thirsty that evening and our waiter refilled my water steadily, keeping a close eye on my glass. Then we had the pasta platter which had a great selection of pastas to try. We loved it. We couldn't finish it all so our waiter offered to pack it up for us which we appreciated. We were too full for dessert so our waiter brought us the bill in a reasonable amount of time. We were very satisfied with our dinner at the Italian kitchen and we will be back again for sure."

"I was excited to visit the Italian Kitchen as I had heard so much about it. I made a reservation for my husband and I for our 35th wedding anniversary. Unfortunately the food did not meet our expectations. We had the pasta platter and the only thing good on the plate was the truffle spaghetti.
The service was outstanding and we had no complaints there. We even got a lucious dessert sent to us complimentary. Too bad about the pasta - I am not sure that I would head back there. Maybe it was a one time thing?"
