"The food is absolutely amazing. I've dined here several times now, and have always been blown away at how remarkable the food is and the excellence of the wait staff. Everyone was very genuiely polite and outgoing. A great place to go when you need to impress."

"Four of us went for a birthday dinner; service was generally good; however, the server was very slow in refilling wine glasses & since they kept the wine off the table, we weren't able to do it ourselves. As we were getting ready to leave, other guests joined us for a glass of wine; which the server filled from our bottle which we assumed was empty since we weren't served it. She advised it was 'leftover'. Hmm, I wonder who would have drank it if our late guests hadn't shown up? The main courses were disappointing, from not very interesting to heavily over salted. We wouldn't rush back."

"It was because of the gift certificate that we went here.
Most things were just ok. A glass of wine for my partner, at $12.00 was too expensive, but the glass of water at $0.00 was just right( I don't drink alcohol)....The main couses that we had at $34.00 and $36.00 we thought were a bit too expensive; and definately too much oil.....we didn't have anything else on the menu and went to another establishment for desert.
I'm not usually much of a tipper as I generaaly think that remuneration of employees is up to the employer...In this case I tipped $6.00 but did not enquire whether this went to the employer or staff that served us.....No "thank you" came from our server but we did receive a few "thank you"'s as we left."

"Great restaurant. We chose the taster menu and totally enjoyed it. Every course was an adventure. Portions were just right. The staff was knowledgeable, skilled and courteous. The service was prompt but not rushed. The food was fabulous. I would recommend this restaurant for special occasions. Bring your wallet."

"Having dined here nearly 10 years ago with one of the most amazing experiences I was curious if it was still just as great. It was better than I imagined! "Everything was perfect. Food was awesome, service was good. My mom and I were very impressed and the price was reasonable considering the upscale feel.
The only bad thing I could say is that we, and I think everyone else in the restaurant, could eat the kitchen call out orders. I realize that helps the kitchen communicate but it is very distracting especially at a brunch service when it's so quiet.
Also would like to say the restaurant is beautiful and will be back for a romantic dinner!"

"It all came together for us. The perfect booth snuggled into the corner provided outstanding ambiance. The service was impeccable and the food delicious. We paired our Chateauneuf Du Pape, Homage a Jacques Perrin, 2001 with the lamb and it worked magnificently. All in all a most perfect evening. The only minor caveat was the fairly small portion for the main. Do indulge on the truffle popcorn! Well done, Muse!"

"If I could change one thing about this restaurant it would be the dining experience downstairs. If you're old enough to remember the suburban rec room it's a little like that. The decor and the seating arrangements are not on par with the food and wine list. The foie gras starter was especially delicate and tasty as was the duck with grains and broth poured at the table. The albacore tuna was slightly more than seared (read overcooked) and the wine list by the glass is brief but good and they even had ice cider from Quebec, a real treat for dessert."

"We are new to Calgary and we are interested in restaurant within a walking distance of our condo in the Calgary West End area. The muse has an excellent menu choice while not extensive. The atmosphere was relaxing with nice bucket chairs and a fantastic waitress. The price is a bit on the high side but well worth it."

"We needed some dietary requirements, that we had not mentioned when we booked our reservation. As we were going to try the 'tasting menu' the Chef recommended we order from the al a carte menu and also suggested a couple of items that would best suit our requirements, (which were excellent). In future we will definitely add our requirements to our reservation next time we eat at Muse.

"Took out the lady friend for a romantic dinner after golfing all day on her day off. After a quick cocktail and some oysters accompanied by the fantastic ambience provided the 18 holes I enjoyed was quickly forgotten by the pretty lady. Our server was knowledgeable and prompt on all courses served which helped the meal flow naturally and easy. The wine pairings were very well put together and complimented the flavours on our plates wonderfully.

"I ask for a special seating area with a nice view; we were seated in the basement and it was so dark (had dim light and a couple of candles); but it made us felt sleepy. I kind of mentioned that, but we weren't ask if we like to sit elsewhere.
The staff that confirmed my booking said there will be champaigne served for our party of five (for my gf's Big 40th); but they didn't bring it. I think that I spoke to Grace when she called me on Sat to confirm the Sunday's dinner. Otherwise, the food and service was great."

"The husband's birthday dinner at Muse was a great success! Our choice was the eight course planned menu and the staff were easily able to accommodate our respective food sensitivities. I don't know there was a favorite as each course stood very well on it's own but the foie gras and the chocolate were absolutely divine and those two choices alone were worth the visit. In our opinion the length of time between courses was longer than we liked but that is simply a personal preference."

"The food was lovely but the service as mixed. This was a very special occasion (my father's 85th birthday) yet we got off to a bad start when we were left alone for too a long time with without a drink. When we called a hostess over, she did bring and open our wine and the waitress came later to take our order. The meal was pleasant enough from then on but it ended on a low note as they forgot it was his birthday and didn't even bring a candle. All in all, it missed the mark as a place for a special occasion (which, I would have thought, for a restaurant of Muse's standing, would be their specialty)"

"The food was all excellent - we ordered items ranging from Duck to Bass. Everyone left satisfied - the type of meal you can't stop eating until it's gone. It's pricey, but not over-priced for the quality. We ate on the second story looking over the lower part of the restaurant, it has a very cool, dark atmosphere. We definitely enjoyed it and would recommend,"

"I have rated the food as only "good" as my husband's meal was not to his likely. Choices are very limited if you're a beef lover. My meal was very good. Portions are smaller, so it was perfect for me. Popcorn - fabulous! Dessert - disappointing. If you didn't have the course dinner, you could only get certain desserts. The table next to us had a fabulous looking dessert. However, we were not able to have it since we didn't order the special dinner. Overall, pretty pricey. Not my first choice of restaurants."

"Having been to Muse on several occasions in the past, we decided to revisit the location once more. Frankly, it was a bit of a rushed decision. Nevertheless, we quickly booked a reservation via their website and were on our way.
Upon being seated, our waitress did note that the kitchen was closing @ 11pm and politely noted that we should place our orders promptly. The service was great, the food was delicious as always, and having been the only remaining patrons in the restaurant, near the end of our meal, I think we received more attention than on my previous visits. However, I did find it a bit troubling that they would book a dinner reservation for the same time their kitchen is set to close. Had I known that, I would not have booked"

"We had never been to Muse, but had always heard about it. I'm glad that we finally made the trip, because it was delicious. It was one of those places where every bit was delicious. I was also happy with the service. I love when a server is knowledgeable and present but not over-bearing. I felt very relaxed and comfortable at Muse, something I can't always do in a busy restaurant. But I knew I was in good hands. I'll be back!"

"We tried the Muse Restaurant after hearing about the change in ownership. The staff were very friendly and attentive toward the guests.
We tried the five course special with the wine pairing. The wine pairings were very well choosen complementing the individuals courses. We found one of the courses a littlel too salty for our tastes. The portions were sized appropriately and even then it was difficult to finish the last course. Throughout the evening the staff were receptive to our comments about the various courses.
Overall a very cood experience and the bacon and egg soup was fantastic."

"A restaurant that focuses on all the right things. Unique and amazing food, excellent wine list (with reasonable pricing) friendly knowledgeable staff in a beautiful environment.
Our group enjoyed all the dishes (Lamb, Duck, Pork and Bass) and left feeling comfortable and not "weighed" down by a overly heavy meal. I also like Muse over the other fine dining restaurants because I don't feel you need to whisper and thats nice. We had a great time and experience with our friends.
Lastly, I think its important to note that ownership is in the restaurant and checked on us throughout the evening. They made us feel important. We will be back and I will recommend Muse to friends and colleagues."

"We really enjoyed our evening. My two criticisms would be the restaurant was a little cold and the service was a little slow, especially considering the restaurant was quiet. That's not to say the service was bad, our server was knowledgeable and polite but it did take some time for her to arrive at our table when we were first seated and to fill our water glasses for the fist time (after the first time they were kept topped up very efficiently).
The meal itself was outstanding, garlic popcorn is a genius idea and the perfect way to liven the palate. I would definitely recommend this restaurant as a romantic spot for a night out with your beloved."

"Unique experience indeed! The food was amazing! We ordered the Lamb and the Duck breast, and let me tell you, they honestly melt in your mouth!
We sat by the window on 2nd floor, where we can look out the street of Kensington, the lighting is a bit dark, but not too dark to see the menu. We also got the Foie Gras Torchon as an appetizer and it was delicious. It was full of flavor and recommended to have it with the almond cookie, together.
The server was polite and friendly, she refilled our hot water without us asking, which was pretty amazing (don't get that a lot in other restaurants)
Overall Muse was an unique and awesome experience, Will come back again with my family/friends."

"It had been a while since we had all been to Muse and none of us had a poor experience prior however the food this time was awful. Two of us in our party of 4 choose the duck and I love duck but after this experience it has turned me off soo badly it will be some time before I can eat it again. It was poorly cooked and the texture absolutely awful. When both of us returned it to the waiter with only 2 bites out of it he said nothing. So at $37.00 each it was extremely disappointing. There was no offer to do anything about it. We will not be going back to Muse. Menu was very limited and food poorly done."
