"The food was great as was our waitress, Irish. It is a little pricey but could have split the salad as well as the dessert as they are huge portions. Had to wait at the bar for our table and was ignored by one bartender completely but once we moved to the other side were served immediately. Would recommend"

"Here's the skinny on Oceanaire. The food is great. The service is impeccable. The prices are severely inflated. The wine list is extensive and I expect to pay a bit of a premium at a nice restaurant but their prices on wine were flat out insane! I love a good bottle and good food and I'm willing to pay for it but not those prices and not at this restaurant. The biggest disappointment was the scallops. 5 scallops for 35 bucks?!?! I was told by the server to be prepared though because they are the big one. Okay, 5 BIG scallops for 35 is more tolerable but they weren't even close to large scallops. You can buy bigger scallops at the local Whole Foods. In fairness, they were cooked perfectly and delicious but WAY overpriced."

"I was really disappointed by our Mother's Day experience. The food and drinks were great. It's downhill from there though as our server took 20 minutes to take our drink orders, another 20 minutes to return with our drinks and to take our food order, and then we waited another 30 minutes to eat. There were no apologies but there were cheesy smiles and attempts at familiarity. Ick! I won't be back."

"The staff certainly made my wife feel welcomed and special on Mother's Day. We came in with 4 kids not really sure what to expect. The atmosphere was wonderful, sort of a 40's Art Deco feel. We were very pleased with the appetizers (good sized and tasty), not so much with the main courses (a little bland and too sophisticated for kids). The ultimate question we ask ourselves is would we come back? Based on our experience, yes, though this place would be bested suited for just the 2 of us and we'd look forward to coming in to enjoy a few drinks and appetizers at the oyster bar."

"Mom and I went to Oceanaire before seeing a play at the theater. This trip we decided on appetizers and they were delicious! Highly recommend the Tequilla Shrimp Ceviche and the Pomegranate martini! Our server was Ryan, HE definitely deserves a 5-star for outstanding service!"

"We had dinner here on a Friday night before a show at the DCPA. The food was very good and the server was aware and attentive that we had a show to make. However, service overall could have been better. We did not order alcohol and she made it very clear that she was ticked off that we didn't order any alcohol. I don't appreciate being given the cold shoulder just because we didn't order any alcohol (code for a higher bill)."

"We were late and our table was held. Our server was great as well as the food which came out in time to make the show with plenty of time to spare. We valeted the car which they kept until the show let out. They made the night very enjoyable."

"I know, one should try new things at a favorite restaurant, but I CAN'T. Their crab cakes are the best I've ever had (and we lived for years on the East coast). They use lump crab and with barest of filler, just to keep the form, and they absolutely melt in your mouth. By the way, watch out for the bread, You could definitely make a meal out of it. Will we return....Oh yeah."

"We celebrated a family birthday at Oceanaire and it was just what we wanted. An interesting and varied menu meant it was hard making choices, very good wine list. This was a Sunday evening and the restaurant was relatively quiet but even so the service was really good, the wait staff listened to our questions and preferences and made recommendations when asked. The quality of the food was outstanding. All in all it was a very enjoyable evening."

"I am a single diner. I do not bring a book or iPad - I want to enjoy the ambiance. The Maitre d' did not stick me in a corner at the worst table, but instead (even on a very busy Saturday) seated me at the banquette with a view of the whole dining room. How wonderful. Plus the food was very, very good. I noted another single lady receiving the same lovely treatment. Good for Oceanaire!"

"Waiter was very attentive and knowledgeable about the menu. The food was very good. The spinach salad was excellent and can definitely be split between 2 people. I had the Halibut with the dynamite crab topping. Excellent dish. My husband had the Costa Rican Mahi Mahi which was also excellent and cooked perfectly. The new mac and cheese dish was to die for! The wine list is a little too pricey. Need to have a few more medium priced wines on the list."

"Three friends had dinner before a lecture to celebrate a birthday. Each menu was printed with a "Happy Birthday XXX" at the top, nice touch!

We chose an appetizer of conch fritters and shared two entree's: halibut, scallops, + French fries for the BD girl. Each was great.
The service was perfect, thanks Scott!!! Scott provided answers to every question we asked, made wonderful recommendations and made certain that we were well taken care of (without hovering). At the end of our meal we were presented with a Baked Alaska as the birthday dessert. We are all cooks & were very impressed with the slight, but distinct, uniqueness of this dessert. Bravo!

Thanks for an absolutely wonderful evening. Of course, we'll return!"

"Our waiter was amazing and very attentive. The food was good, but our dessert (the chocolate caramel brownie pie) was a little overdone. Our waiter promptly apologized and removed the items from our bill. A little pricey, but great for an Easter Brunch."
