"We had friends from Austria who speak no English visiting, and they were delighted with the experience of eating at Anthem. We arrived 30 minutes early, and the hostess and server accomodated us without blinking.
they serve Sam Boston Brick Red, a rarity in town.
After a minor disappointment in cooking of a steak, the manager was very sympathetic and helpful.

"Anthem is a gem. I've been there about four times with my girlfriend and we love it. I've had the clam chowder, tacos, lobster roll and a few other dishes and it has all been amazing. Highly, highly recommended. Definitely check this place out."

"Accommodated my friend's bachelorette party with no problems. Had our own corner upstairs and it was a great time! Food was delicious - I got the Parmesan Crusted Cod. Ambience was lively. Once the Bruins game was over, fans started trickling in. I highly recommend Anthem for a fun night!"

"Myself and my family enjoyed our entire experience. We ordered three appetizers: the hummus, the calamari, and the fried pickles. They were all delicious. I especially loved the fried pickles. I hadn't had fried pickles that good since Beale St. in Memphis! We also all shared cups of the wonderful Clam Chowder. I'm pretty sure we devoured the entire bowls. Each of us ordered a unique entree: chicken, steak, meatloaf, Greek salad, Bahn Mi, cheeseburger. All of them were wonderful and shared around the table. They were savory, unique, flavorful, and seasoned to perfection. Yes, all of them! This was my second visit to Anthem and I will have no qualms in returning for more appetizers, drinks, entrees and desserts!"

"Had a very nice dinner at Anthem on Saturday night. Menu was good but not stunning. Chowder was delicious and Fondue was really good too. Had a lobster roll and my husband had the steak and blue salad. Service was so-so. Our 2 year old was welcome and they had a nice little children's menu. "We went there for a business group lunch. I ordered the Salmon, which was delicious with beautiful plating presentation. We all ordered clam chowder since it was awarded the Clam Chowder Festival winner of 2012, but it was a bit salty to me although my co-workers like it. We also ordered two Salad. The lettuces are in one piece from lettuce head, which was NOT cut into pieces like most salads do. The cucumber was peeled into a long thin piece, but not cut into rounded thin pieces like most restaurant does.Sorry to say this - but it looks very lazy, unfinished and disappointed. My co-workers didn't even know where to start eating because of the whole big pieces of rounded lettuce on the plate and not bite size. LOL."

"I usually do not write reviews but did not have a good experience at Anthem. Both meals were completely incorrect, making it seem like our waitress did not pay attention when we were ordering. These were not complicated orders either, one was a side substitution and one was not to have something on it. We waited a long time for our meals to come out and when they actually did, both were incorrect. Our waitress was no were to be found and by the time she did come we were basically finished. They eventually brought over the missing side item once we were finished but by that time we were ready to leave. They did take one meal off the bill which was nice but overall not a good experience."

"Anthem was exactly what I was looking for. Our son came into town unexpectantly and I wanted an elegant/casual restaurant in Boston where 5 of us could carry on a conversation. It was perfect. We had a corner table and with the glass walls I felt as if we were outside. The food was very good, especially the crab cakes and ravioli. "We were called by the restaurant the day before to confirm the reservation. We aren't sure why, since when we arrived we were escorted to an empty room upstairs. When we asked if we could be reseated at an open table by the windows, we were told that it was "probably reserved for another party", which never arrived during our time there. Since it was Easter, we came specifically for the advertised brunch. The French Toast was undercooked, the Eggs Benedict was poorly done, and portions were small. Our server was fairly attentive, though given the dearth of other customers that would be expected. We were never asked about the food once we had it. Overall very negative experience."

"We were seated upstairs tucked away in a corner. The server was very absent for most of the meal. He never came to check on us once after the food was delivered.
