"Went to CG to celebrate an IU graduate; food was very good. Service was good though at times a little inconsistent. They acknowledged the celebration with a card, a photo and a free dessert. Nice touch. Sides were outstanding, salads were solid but not memorable. Mains were very good as well. Overall a solid steakhouse for reasonable prices."

"This was my first time at a Capital Grill. A friend that loves the place recommended our conference group try this place for a nice dinner out and we were not disappointed. Compared to Ruth's Chris, I'd give this place a much better rating. The dry-aged Kona rubbed sirloin was out of this world. I had the best cosmopolitan I've ever tasted and their extensive wine list was impressive. Service was really beyond great. Our server was energetic, friendly and open with his recommendations. I had ordered a bottle of the Joel Gott wine blend but didn't realize until we finished the bottle that we had received the Cabernet Sauvignon. It was fine, but the server comped us the bottle to make up for the error. Overall easy 5-star experience."

"A friend had recommended the Capital Grill for my birthday so a friend and I decided to try it. Had a reservation for 5:30 that was easily made on line. We arrived a half hour early of the reservation time and so we asked if we could be seated earlier and they gladly let us. The food was AMAZING!! We both had the Filet Oscar and it just melted in your mouth. Best Filet I have ever had! The Lobster MAC & Cheese is a must have. It was to die for! The wine was incredible also. Our waitress, Stephanie, was outstanding!! We did not know what wine to order, because there is so many to choose from, so we trusted her recommendation and it was spot on!! It was truly an awesome birthday dinner and would definitely go back again!!!"

"All the sides were delicious but of the 7 of us that ordered steak 4 of us had to return them bc they were overcooked despite them initially telling us what the temperatures meant to them. I got a porterhouse and asked for it Med Rare which they said had a cool red center and it came to me barely pink. When I asked for a new one they brought one to me that wasn't seasoned and still not med rare. The cook came out to talk to the others and he was extremely condescending. I will never go back"

"What I liked best about the restaurant: the service. I felt pampered walking in and continued to feel pampered until I walked out. Coat checker, waiter, sommelier, even the busboy all knew our party name. They were all intent on ensuring that we had a terrific experience. Regarding the food, if you're a beef lover, this is the place for you. We started with French Onion Soup and Caesar's salad. Both to perfection. Dry aged steaks prepared exactly how you asked for them. I had the Bone-In Kona (coffee) Crusted Sirloin with Shallot Butter, companion had Steak au Poivre with Courvoisier Cream with a side of roasted mixed mushrooms. Neither of us is a big beef eater, but we enjoyed these very much. We finished with sour cherry sorbet. Yum!"

"Having frequented many nice downtown restaurants, our family was eager to try a new place. What we found was over priced food that was mediocre at best. From fish to steak to shrimp, none of us were impressed. The best part of the meal was the cheesecake and even that was nothing to brag about. The restaurant was also quite drafty. If you are looking to spend this much on a nice dinner, just go to Shula's."

"I forgot to let our server know but I had the dry aged rib eye and it was the most tough unappealing steak I have had in a long time - very dissappointed in the ribeye and meant to point it out to our server not to complain but just to let him know. Everything else was great, rest of the food service, etc. - little put off that the server was chatty but hey really no big deal"

"The first time we dined here we loved it. The service was excellent and so was the food. This time the service wasn't up to par and we had to send our side dish of au gratin potatoes back because they were still raw in the middle. When they arrived the second time we were finished with our steaks and the potatoes were luke warm at best.
Our reservation was toward the end of the evening on a busy night so maybe that was the reason for the inattentive waitress. An example, we ordered a bottle of wine but ended up refilling our own glasses throughout our dinner. Needless to say we were disappointed. At these prices I expected much better."

"The food is exceptionally wonderful! There is no better service in Indianapolis.....well Indiana, for that matter! BUT the noise is deafening; I mean patrons (who may have had a bit too much to drink) are actually yelling at each other. It made dinner conversation less enjoyable."

"Had a great time at the Capital Grille. The food was execellent and I was impressed with the service. Our coats were taken at the door, we were seated promptly and our server welcomed us shortly after being seated. Most notable--we weren't rushed at all. It was a very relaxing evening and never did I feel like I needed to hurry up and order or hurry up and eat (much like I felt during a past dining experience at St. Elmo's). Well worth the money, plus they had a few nice touches for Valetine's Day (a rose and chocolates for the lady plus a printed picture of the couple) which was nice."

"We have enjoyed Capital Grille for several various occasions. This past visit was during Devour Downtown week. Our service and food was just not the norm that Capital Grille always puts forth. I felt the quality of service and food served was not the topic quality that we have always received during previous visits. More than likely, we will not dine during Devour Downtown week again. We will be back to Capital Grille to try for another wonderful meal like we've had in the past."

"I just love Capital Grille. Whenever I have a special occasion or a reason to celebrate, I want to come here. The service is always fantastic and the food is amazing. We went for our anniversary and when we were brought to the table, there were rose petals and a sign stating "Happy Anniversary". We also were brought complimentary champagne. Now that's some customer service! Our server, Julian, was also great. He was friendly and just the right amount of attentive. My steak came out a little over done and when I mentioned it to Julian, he quickly took it back and fixed it. It came back a perfect medium rare and was absolutely delicious. Overall, I think the food and service are outstanding. Thanks for another wonderful meal!!"

"Great food, service was sub par compared to past dining experiences. As soon as we asked for the Devour Downtown Menu the server checked out. No drink refills and no check ups on us. We did order a few bottles of wine and 4 lobster tails so it is not like we were going completely cheap. Either give good service for Devour Downtown or do not participate. The staff that brought our food out was exceptional as ever giving everyone sides. I have been to Capital Grill with exceptional service, was embarrassed to take people from out of town with the service we received. Overall experience has always been OUTSTANDING every other time I have been there so I will leave overall at 5 stars."

"My fiancee' and I tried the Capital Grille for the first time during Devour Downtown, and we could not have made a better choice! Everything I ate was outstanding: clam chowder, fillet, lobster tail, mashed potatoes, cream spinach, and creme brulee. Delicious! The restaurant was rather loud and our server seemed a bit scatter-brained, but I am willing to overlook this as it was Devour Downtown and the food was so amazing. I hope to come back sometime at try the lobster mac n' cheese."
