"I love this place!!!! The best part - people who work there- all of them.
We were late for our reservation - i mean 2 hours late due to the traffic and snow. The hostess was very nice to keep our reservation when she learned the problem, even the place was packed. We did not make it easier when we finnally arrived- we had less than an hour for the dinner, including 2 dozens of amazing oysters. My Duck Confit was perfect, so is the rest of dishes. Service we received was the best.

"We had a reservation for 2 and when I arrived asked if they could accommodate 3, even though they were clearly jammed they managed to do so us and were wonderful about it. Staff were just awesome from start to finish, food excellent, beautiful wine."

"We go to Biff's from time to time even though it is in downtown and we live uptown. Parking is easy underground and you only pay $2.- you don't even have to go outdoor to access the restaurant, this is a great plus considering the headache in parking downtown.
Food are always good. They serve oysters for $1.- which is a great deal even though it's a small one.
Chicken liver parfait is smooth and flavourful, lamb belly melts in the mouth, smelts are crispy. Next time, we'll try the crispy pig ear which looks great on the next table.
Wine list covers old and new world extensively and are priced reasonably."

"We have been to Biff's Bistro many times. That in itself is a recommendation as we have many restaurants within a couple of blocks of our home. Friends joined us on Saturday night and everyone had a wonderful evening with great food and wine delivered with the highest quality service. Highly recommended for almost any occasion,"

"Its been over 5 years since I was last at Biffs and it didn't disappoint my group. The food and the service was great. My 87 year old mom normally complains about restaurant food but she said it is the best meal she has had in a very long time. We will recommend and definitely be back! thanks"

"We dined at Biff's Bistro mid-week before a Toronto Maple Leaf playoff game and had a wonderful time. The receptionist sat us at our table as soon as we arrived even though we were about 15 minutes early. And our waitress (Leslie) was very helpful with the French wine list and dinner list. The food was very good and brought to us in a timely manner. A great experience!"

"Decided to pick Biff for before the hockey game for a nice bite, drinks and happy hour osyster. The wine and food were nice, but server tells us the osyster isn't ready for another 40-45 mins. It was already 535p and happy hour starters at 5p. I felt like they didn't wish to allow us to order happy hour osyster as well, enventhough we spent over $100 between two people."

"I've been to Biff's a few times and each time the service is some how bad, and yet we still go back.
We had a lovely waitress, who confirmed with us, if we would be attending the show at the Sony centre, we informed her yes, thinking this would help us make sure we'd be on time.
We ordered our meals starting with oysters, which were so good. We got those and my husband had a salad it was a good start.
45 minutes after that we had still not received our dinner, 7:10-15, my husbands dish was deliecious, I got the special Halibut, you'd think simple easy to cook, not so the fish was over cooked and quite dry. By 7:50 we still didn't have dessert and when it arrived we had to shovel it in and run. why bother asking if we have plans."

"The service ruined the experience for me. I thought the food was amazing and the service just killed it.

"A girlfriend was visiting from Vancouver so we went for late drinks & oysters last night (Monday) We arrived @ 9PM and waited 1hr for our oysters... I am not sure why it took so long, as the restaurant was very quiet, and the few tables that were there already had their meals, so the kitchen couldn't of had been busy? In the time it took to get the oysters, my friend ate her appetizer & meal. We also had to pour our own wine, as the server was no where to be found most of the time. However, the $1 oysters and delicious bottles of wine made up for the lack of service. We ended up staying until 1AM, and the staff was gracious enough to not kick us out, even though I am sure they wanted to close up."

"The evening started with a very friendly greeting from the hostess and the manager. Our server was fantastic and spent time with us going over the menu and answered our many questions. The fois gras appetizer was to die for. Unfortunately, when our steaks came out they were the wrong ones. But....no problem. Mistakes happen. We weren't in any rush, and we were surprised when the manager offered us a bottle of wine on the house. We had 2 bottle's of Biff's wine and really enjoyed them.

"Two of us had the seafood soup - boulliabase type soup - we found it overpriced, and one that included a small amount of seafood for the price. Having had a number of similiar dishes as this across the city, we noticed that the dish was bulked up with potatoes, rather than seafood - a real dissappoinment for sure.

"In a French restaurant you would expect the Steak Frites to be excellent. This was not the case here. 60% of my steak was not edible due to the poor quality of the cut. The service was good and the waiter and chef agreed that my steak was awful...it was taken of the bill.
Restaurant is open concept and tables are very close together. That, combined with the overall noise level makes it very difficult to have a conversation."

"Food at Biff's is always amazing and I really enjoy the atomosphere here. However, this is the third time I've been to Biff's on a weekday and I must say, service from the wait staff is extremely slow because they are short staffed.
On the weekends, it's fine because Biff's actually staffs properly.
PLEASE staff properly on weeknights!!!!!!"

"Food was excellent, a nice variation on bistro cooking. Our group of 6 sampled a wide ranges of dishes, and enjoyed all of them -- though we were disappointed that they had run out of oysters by 8pm!
A nice extra touch, was the tray of reading glasses of different strengths that they provided to help, when one of us discovered their own were left at home!
We also used the "bring your own wine" option to bring some special wines and this was handled well."

"I was totally caught off guard. Biff's has always had good service. While it was the lunch hour the restaurant was far from full and it took over 45 minutes to prepare a club sandwich, a slice of the daily quiche & a medium rare steak & frites. I figured the quiche was first up as it came stone cold. The server's comment was, "we're very busy today". Unfortunately by the time the food did arrive there was only a handful of tables still with diners. I guess the staff all went for a break & "turned" off the warming lamps,"

"A classic dining experience! With the trend these days toward loud, flashy restaurants it is very pleasent to go to Biff's for dinner. The staff is professional and attentive but not intrusive. The food is excellent with a focus on freshness and taste rather than showmanship. While the restaurant was busy, it was a pleasant background buzz and we were able to have a nice dinner conversation without feeling the need to shout. Interesting mix of people there just for dinner as well as the pre-theatre/hockey game crowd. I had the classic steak frites which, while not an adventurous choice, was excellent and one of the best in the city. My wife had the rabbit with prunes and it was outstanding."

"We ate in the lounge area and it felt very private and quiet. The food was amazing, but even better than the food was the service - very helpful and friendly, there right when you needed them, but not hanging around making you uncomfortable.
We used the corking service to bring our own wine and were worried that the service would be lacking because of this or that they would be reluctant and want us to buy their wine... this was not the case and they were more than happy to serve the wine we brought, and chilled the white at the table.
We were late arriving to our reservation time and took a long time to eat our meal (almost 4 hours for 4 courses) but staff was very understanding and we never felt rushed.
Definitely recommended."

"Our waiter was exceptionally knowledgeable and attentive without being intrusive. This was a pre theatre dinner which he noted, timing our service so that we were out at precisely the agreed time, while still providing a relaxed dining experience. The food was superb. Excellent quality and flavours in each of our meal choices. The Fixe Prix menu is very good value. I had the rabbit, well worth straying from the fixed menu......mmmm sumptuous. Don't miss the chicken liver parfait for a starter....a silky melt in your mouth pate. Our first time at Biffs, but not our last for sure!"

"Rib Eye Steak was over cooked (ordered med rare) and waiter didn't know own beers on tap. Messed up the bill (added something we didn't order) but quickly corrected it. $1/oysters were small but good and I'd come back just for that. Definitely wouldn't do a steak again. Not a bad experience but nothing spectacular."

"Excellent service, and $1 oysters were amazing. The house wine wasn't that great, with a slightly older crowd. The service was absolutely fantastic, and multiple people came to check up on us often. The waiter was courteous, and the staff were extremely friendly."
