"My buddy, whose last name is the same as the restaurant, was in town so we had to hit this place -- actually twice during the week, once with two other buddies. Interesting pasta and seafood dishes, service was very good. The party ordered pizza and soup/salad but I had the halibut (I think) which was served over some mashed with a rich sauce that was just right. I should have had a salad too as there were only some half cheery tomatoes on the plate. But it is Italian! I had a nice seafood pasta and salad the first night and both were very good."

"I was expecting a bit nicer place as I booked for Mothers Day Brunch. Felt like a diner but without a counter. Not exactly a "date night" restaurant.
We waited a good 5 minutes for anyone to come to our table. Our drinks and food arrived quickly (except that he brought the salad after all the other food). But our water glasses were empty and no one refilled them without our asking - a cardinal sin! Food was good. Eggs Florentine was delicious, as was the French toast and the chicken panini sandwich. Champagne above average. Would I go here again? Yes, but not for a special occasion."

"You felt like one of the family. From the moment you walked in to time you left. The wait staff made sure your every need was taken care of. Our courses were served in a timely manner, ensuring that you didn't feel rushed, but didn't feel like you were waiting. Everything was Fresh, hot and was full of flavor. I will make it a point to stop in again next time we're in the San Francisco area. You will not be disappointed."

"We had 2 double rooms at the Tuscan Inn for a family wedding reunion so meeting at piscatore was a great option the staff was good...we've eaten here for years and enjoy most of the newer redesign, the menu no longer has polenta available it used to be my favorite brunch...well things change. We ate 2 breakfasts for 7 there and one dinner for 2...it was good."

"Pescatore was nice dinner find for a tourist family of four with 2 teenagers (who eat pizza for every meal). The kids enjoyed the pizza. We were able to have fish. The restuarant is quite comfortable...a bit "Cheers" like. The service was very good: friendly, attentive, but not overbearing. This restaurant is in the same building as the Best Western and it was evident that several tables were "hotel regulars" who are looking for easy, comfortable, with decent food. And these are the reasons to dine at Pescatore."

"I went there with a colleague for dinner. I had the tuna tartare which was a bit too sour for my taste. For my main dish I had the Bianca pizza which was good, but not the best. The service started a little slow and wasn't that attentive. However, at the end one of the servers greeted us and gave us a free desert and thanked us for our business. That individual touch made it a much better experience, hence the 5 stars on service. I would go again and may try something else."

"On our visit to San Francisco we made a reservation at Pescatore for dinner. We both ordered the rib eye steak, one medium and one medium rare. Rib eye is one of our favorites because it is so flavorful. When the steak arrived, I could not believe how thin the steak was. At first I thought perhaps it had been pounded down to 1/4" tenderize the meat. We were each only able to eat 1/2 of our steaks because of the gristle.
One other issue, although minor. There was mention in a review and also when we booked on OpenTable of a "surprise." If the surprise was not the poor quality of steak, then the surprise whatever it was did not materialize."

"Our reservation was for 4:30pm and a party of seven. For some inexplicable reason we were placed adjacent to an entry door and, worse, a busy service area. Open Table reservations deserve the best available seating, not what we were given. Our location required at least three members of our party to view the busy service area during their entire meal. And, on one occasion, I had to manually pull the entry door closed to shut off the cold draft. Our table location was probably the least desirable in the restaurant. Hard to explain why we were placed there."
