"We stayed at the Westin across the street, and when we were tired of trudging through the rain, wanted a good meal close by. Osteria came through! Good food, busy but not crazy. Very attentive service. Drinks average for being so pricey, but food portions were just right. The bowl of olives to start with, along with bread and olive oil, was a really nice surprise."

"We visited the restaurant for the second time this weekend while in NY on a weekend break. The food was delicious with plenty of fresh ingerdients. The menu contains lots of options that are suitable for vegetraians which was an added bonus. The wine list was also very good as was the great selection of olives and breads that we received before the meal arrived. Cannot find fault."

"Very slow service and it wasn't busy -- I don't get it?? My son and waited 20 minutes before being approached for drinks and menu. It was a Sunday at 1:30 , 3-4 tables with diners and servers seemingly available. Go figure."

"Our waitress was very attentive, as opposed to some of the reviews I read before eating there. We were able to make a reservation on-line and were seated as soon as we arrived and received wonderful service. We had two seafood dishes--the frutti di mare pasta and the pizza. The pizza was a little spicy, but the pasta was wonderful. We lived in Italy for several years and visit often and finding Italian food that is up to par is difficult, but the pasta could have been served in a restaurant in Italy. Dessert was very good, as well."

"The food was good but, unfortunately, the service was lacking. We were two. We asked for more olives (the only thing they placed on the table) when giving our order, but the waiter forgot or ignored us. Had to ask again. Had to ask for bread. Wife and I ordered lasagna, and no one offered any grated parmigana cheese. Waiter never came after the food was served to ask if the food was ok. Ample staff, but we were invisible except when placing drink and food orders and requesting the check. It's a shame how little things like that can ruin what otherwise would have been a pleasant dining experience. This is not our first visit, but we are not inclined to go again."

"We loved this restaurant. It was so convenient to the Westin, just a walk across the street. The decor was very cozy on a cold winter night. The food was fresh and delicious. "Very nice find. Right across from our hotel but a very pleasant surprise for a February dinner. The food and service were both excellent and they happened to have live entertainment the evening we were there."

"My lunch guest & I enjoyed the food but the service could have been better.The waiter serving our table seemde to be new & was easily distracted. At least twice, his co-workers stepped in to service us when they sensed that we were becoming impatient."

"I am usually a fan of Osteria Laguna, but not on Valentine's day: musical show was no good, volume of the audio amplifier at the back area of the restaurant was way too loud, and the waiter just could not do anything about it. The food took ages to come, obviously the kitchen was way overloaded."

"During the week, Osteria Laguna is a very popular lunch spot for the business crowd. They have just added a weekend brunch menu in an effort to attract weekend diners, which is a very smart move. The menu is very diverse and offers something for everyone. There are cheaper restaurants in the area, but Osteria Laguna offers authentic and delicious meals that are well worth the price. The service is also very good, whether you dine at the bar or at the tables. Wines by the glass or by the bottle are also very affordable."

"Overall outstanding meal. The staff was gracious in providing me an alternative dressing for my salad, a citrus dressing that was probably the best salad dressing I have ever had. The Fish and the Pasta specials were perfect. But the highlight of the evening was the Meringue cake, exquisite definitely worth it. There are so many good restaurants in New York that it is difficult to justify going back to any one for a second time, but Osteria Laguna is one of them."
