"Food was delicious, steaks were prepared and cooked to our exact request. Our waiter Joe recommended a seafood sampler for our group of 7 that was perfect. Joe was very gracious and attentive. The carrot cake is out of this world. The atmosphere is a bit noisy but the food and staff more than make up for it."

"Our steaks (filet & NY strip) were tender, flavorful (light peppercorns) and done to perfection. Portions plentiful. Waiter, Hector was very helpful in answering questions and offering suggestions. on both food & wine selections. Only wish we would have known about the free valet parking, would have saved us $13 parking in public lot."

"say "what the _____" Take out a loan, mortgage your house, throw caution to the wind and brace yourself for the check because it will be a significant number. That said, Gibsons is great. Outstanding service, obscene portion sizes, excellent wine choices.
They are known for their steaks and justifiably so. But don't pass on their seafood. The wait staff will help and they are fine with helping you share orders ( a necessity since even the biggest appetites can't consume some of their dishes).
All in all a wonderful place for a special occasion or when you just need to say "what the _____" let's do it."

"We have been to Gibson's several times before but this time the food wasn't up to their standard (filet mignon was fatty, martinis were a bit off) Usually it is just perfect. Also the restaurant was very busy and although the staff were there very personable selves, we waited too long for just about everything - drinks, salads, dinner, and dessert we didn't ever get to order because we ran out of time. We waited 1/2 hour for to get the waitress attention to let her know we wanted to leave - she was no where to be found."

"Amazing steaks and incredible service. Travel all over the US and this is my favorite steakhouse. The quality of the meat is top notch and the way they char the outside adds a lot of flavor. Beats Peter Lugers and all of the Luger knockoffs in NY. Will make this a regular stop on my business trips to Chicago."

"If you want an example of really great service from a restaurant this is it! The food is exquisite , the only thing missing is a prime rib as good as Lowries. Come on Gibsons there is nothing like the prime rib at Lowries! Your awesome service and it is truly awesome, doesn't make up for the incredible flavor and complete mind blowing prime rib served at Lowries. At the end of the day you guys just serve a piece of quality meat with outstanding service which is very good, but only worth making a reservation if I can't get one at Lowries. While your meal would please most, it left my annual visit to Chicago a little short."

"My husband and I went to Gibson's Rosemont with another couple and had a memorable night out! The food: an avocado crab appetizer, filet, strawberry shortcake and wine was phenomenal!! Our server, Hector, was fabulous. He was attentive enough without being over-bearing and was extremely helpful with suggestions. Prior to our meal, my husband and I had a drink in the bar and the service there was just as pleasant. We would return to this Gibson's location any time!"

"This was a fantastic experience. Service was impeccable, food was perfect, and the atmosphere classy. If you're in the area I'd recommend this above all other steakhouses. The steak was the star, cooked perfectly inside, with a nice, flavorful char on the outside. The crabmeat and avocado appetizer was very good, and the complimentary bread was a nice touch. Service was unobtrusive, yet incredibly knowledgeable and friendly. A manager stopped by soon after the food arrived to check on us and left a business card with the invitation to ask for him anytime if we needed anything. Can't wait for our next trip to Chicago to visit again."

"Gibsons is excellent. The servers, who I think may be trained chefs as well, are so knowledgeable of the menu it is incredible. We had different cuts of steak as well as seafood and it was all perfect. The side dishes can not go without mention. Having eaten at a number of well known steak houses in Chicago - this is if not the best, then in top 2 for sure. When having to overnight in Chicago I choose to stay at the Double Tree and take clients to Gibsons. It is impressive."

"The open table reservation system is the best, easy to us and I get a confirmation to my email that I can forward as an calendar invite to those attending. Good food on a very busy day. It was difficult to hear as I was interviewing a potential employee.

"The staff and the quality of the beef makes this place a real treat. I have never had a server there that was not at least a 95% on the 1 to 100 scale. The quality of the beef is incredible. The sides are superlative. I go there 4 times a year, and every time it is still special."

"The food is always great. We had to sit in the bar for a while before our table was reacy and piano was loud, which caused the volume in the bar to increase to a level not conducive to conversation. My suggestion is tone down the piano; it should be background music, not the focus of the room."

"It seemed that someone at every table in the restaurant had a birthday the night we went, which means the waiters gather around the table and yell out a birthday chant. Our waiter told us what they were voicing, but it sounded to us -- each of the many times we heard it -- that they were yelling "F U, F U". Not impressed."

"We meet my mother here often throughout the year and the food and service is typically consistently great. Service not so great this time. The dining room was full and they jammed a large party at a round table crowding our table of three. Our waiter could barely be bothered after we were not interested in viewing the plate of large cuts of $$$$ meat, and ordered entrees only; no masses of appetizers etc. we watched a nearby table horrified as they ordered a piece of cake to split among four, and a five layer quarter cake was delivered. They looked embarrassed. It's one thing to be known for the enormous desserts, but this group looked douped, as first timers.
The food - always excellent."

"Upon arrival great customer service from being to end of dinner. The table was nicely set, the color was nice not to dark not to like for a romantic dinner evening. Food was excellent. We did not feel rush when eating. The waiter seem to love there job. Gibson's is the place to go."

"Great food - steaks to die for- done to perfection, Visited two nights in a row. Service was friendly and staff was courteous, was recognized second night by maitre'd & welcomed back. "While attending a convention in Rosemont, I found myself in charge of arranging dinner for a large group. Open table was a lifesaver. It was quick, efficient and user-friendly. We had an amazing meal at Gibson's. There was a mix-up with one of the diner's meals (he wasn't served what he ordered) and our sever took care of it immediately!AND gave us dessert on the house...a humongous cake that served at least a dozen people. Now, that's customer service!"

"dined in the windowed wing this time. Wasn't the same busy, energetic experience we had inside during past visits. One of the things i love most about the Gibsons experience is all the wait staff busily tending to you so expertly... without detracting from your conversation, etc...
this time we only had 2 assigned to us it was confusing if one was our waiter the other cleaning up dishes... just not the same.
Still plan to come back - always ABOVE average!"

"As always Gibsons was fantastic. My friends from out of town loved the food. Alberto our service was wonderful, great personality, and sense of humor. He made the dining experience that much better. Your bus boys were quick at breaking down the table. The host, made sure we had a large enough table just in case a few more joined us. Overall my little sister had a great 21st birthday, and we could not be more pleased!"

"Last minute reservation made for 3 of us. Seated on time. We wanted a little lighter dinner, but our waiter wanted to sell us the "big" hunks of meat. Ordered a 50 dollar bottle of wine, but he brought us a 100 dollar bottle. We realized the bait and switch was happening and made him bring us the cheaper bottle. Our meals were all nicely prepared and tasty. We were rushed through our meal, and hustled out the door. Gibsons is one of our favorites, but this meal was much less than memorable."

"Outstanding selection of prime meat. Our waiter explains the various cut of meat with a thorough knowledge. The Filet mignon was delicious and nailed the temperature spot on to medium rare. The side is very big and good for two including the desserts. The manager made sure to check that we are having a good time and our food was excellent."
