Deli-by-day | Seasonal Bistro-by night and Specialty Food Store in between.
Deli Counter: Huge sandwiches, made with house-roasted and cooked meats, poultry and fish and artisan baked bread. We make our own mayonnaise.
Seasonal Bistro: NO culinary boundaries & NO pretense. "Come and be who you are" atmosphere. Always fresh and as local as possible for produce and proteins from lamb to chicken. We make our own pasta, cut our fries to provide a true artisanal dining experience. The dinner menu changes regularly, and often daily, to match the seasons and give our chef's creative freedom. Our wine list is esoteric with over 25 wines by the glass. Our beer list is a broad mix of micros to innovative custom brews from around the globe. 6 beers on draft and always changing.

"We made reservations late in week before Mother's Day. Website did not show the price, which was a big surprise at $30/head as the menu is not that expensive. Food was very good, even though it was a buffet of which we are not a great fans. But all appreciated the variety and quality, but the surprise was the price. Did not think it was THAT great!! Learned to check more thoroughly and make reservations for Mother's Day earlier."

"We ate here on a Monday night. The place was pretty busy, but not full. Server was nice, but very slow and seemed overwhelmed. Kept asking for water. Large tables on either side were LOUD...we could hardly talk, and we sat outside since we thought it would be quieter. Why do people have babies out at 9 pm and expect them to behave? Clueless parents. Would have liked to sit in the cool wood paneled bar, but it was full.
Food was very good. Loved the shrimp and grits. Quinoa appetizer and pimento cheese were also great."

"I think Muss & Turner took advantage of the fact that it was Mother's Day. The price was high, the food was just okay, nothing to brag about. They set it up for a Buffet with the bar tables pushed together and at 5'6", I stood on tip toes to see the food. The noise level is very high. Probably a good bar place; so sorry we spent so much money for such poor quality and poor selection for what maybe my last Mother's Day with my Mother who is 91. I would not go there again nor would I recommend it to anyone."

"The only complaint that we had about this restaurant was the service. We sat there for a good 10 minutes before anyone acknowledged us to take our drink orders. Other than that, and the noisy kids at the table next to us, we have no complaints! The bar in the back is fun and the food was fresh and original. We will definitely be returning!"

"Mother's day brunch was overpriced. Did not include drinks and buffet barely any breakfast items. We normally like M&T's for lunch and dinner but definitely wouldn't go back for a special event/holiday buffet. Also, buffet was set on high tables so it was a little difficult to get food especially for shorter people. Staff is always nice."

"Went on a date t miss and turners last week. Excellent food and service. Menu is split between affordable sandwiches (10 bucks) and more premium entrees like steak, or past, trout, chicken, etc ( 17 to 30 bucks). Get the fries and truffle aioli as a side.

"I've never been able to rate a restaurant in so many categories! Muss & Turner's is a MUSS-T! I live in the Metro DC area surrounded by many great eateries and visit Atlanta-Smyrna often. I have never gone wrong with the food here - the small bites are just fantastic and well thought out. The deviled eggs are always on my list of must-eats. Desserts are small or large - I opted for a caramel mousse 'drunken' brownie cup today - it was served in a small cup and I almost wanted to order another. Tonight, we sat in a 'romantic' table in the speakeasy portion and it was really wonderful. Bartenders are imaginative - almost as much as the chefs ;-) - and it's just a great place that you know will consistently delight!!!"

"Service was phenomenal. We had one vegan diner in our party and our server went above and beyond to make sure that the chef could put something together for him. The chef even came out with his dish and explained what she included in the dish. Our food took a but longer than normal due to the special accommodations, and the restaurant sent out a complimentary hummus plate for us to snack on. Server was attentive, helpful, and so, so nice. The food was delicious, and even the small plates were of generous portion. Also had some great draught beer -- and I think the list changes every few weeks. Would definitely recommend coming here, and will be back soon!"

"We've been loyal patrons of Muss & Turner's since it first opened as a deli/sandwhich shop. The main dinner menu constantly changes although certain items, such as the sandwhiches, are always on the menu. I would describe it as upscale bistro style. Sandwhiches are excellent, and the burger may be the best in town. They offer a nice variety of entrees for both foodies and less adventurous eaters. They do a particularly good job with the grilled/smoked meats. More recently they've incorporated some Asian and middle eastern flavors to great effect -- the ras-el hanout wings are smack-your-mama good. Last, but not least, the hidden bar Eleanor's is a treat and the cocktail program is on par with any in Atlanta -- yes it's that good!"

"As usual, Muss & Turners did not disappoint. I enjoyed all of the food and the beer that I consumed. I enjoyed it so much that I will be back twice later this week. "The atmosphere is lively and loud-great for a fun and relaxing time. My husband and i were seated immediately with our reservation and the place was full. Staff were attentive and exceptionally pleasant. We had exceptional food, the Dan Dan Noodle dish was amazing! The duck was exquisite and the sauce beyond outstanding. I crave this again already! "We ate lunch off the Muss & Turners menu back in the Eleanor's speakeasy bar area. I loved Eleanor's but I do get a bit nostalgic thinking of the old M&T bar area. Food was first rate as always. Only miss was the bread pudding - not used to having it served cold. Loved the grass-fed burger. Prices seemed high but I guess that is typical Atlanta dining. Wonderful place to spend the afternoon."

"Menu varies daily. Features a nice variety of craft brews and notable wine selections. Staff REALLY know their menus and can describe virtually any item in great detail. It was clear they enjoy working there themselves. Casual attire welcome, but a mix of more elegant attire fit in also.The hangar steak was perfectly prepared, as was the pork loin, and an very nice stuffed flounder prepared in a pastry bag to seal in all the yummy, and delicate sides.Yesterday's soup (always different) was over the top good!"

"We have now been to Muss and Turner's twice and have enjoyed both of our experiences very much. I love the burger and pommes frites (french fries). There menu changes to reflect fresh season items. The dinning area is small and open which leads to a more cafe type experience rather than an intimate, quiet dinning experience. The service has been great on both occasions that we have visited."

"I use to be an employee here, but I do take dinning seriously so my opinion still counts. I went to Muss & Turner's one time and 3 months later was working there. The employees are amazing and so are the patrons. This place is family through and through and that is why I applied in the first place. I moved to New York and had to leave this wonderful place, but still go back for all my special occasions and to say hello to my home away from home and all the people who are there. The food is amazing and so is the atmosphere. I say go... you may find yourself working there after!!!!!!! AMAZING PLACE AMAZING PEOPLE!!!!!"

"We were at Elinors for the first time and found the speakeasy concept to be very fun. My mussels were good but not hot yet they were very accommodating an d quickly warmed it up for me. The grilled veggie of the day was drowning in oil so I didn't enjoy it and should have sent it back. My husband had the Reuben and enjoyed this as well as the hand cut fries. I loved the atmosphere so we will definitely give it another try b"

"This is quickly becoming my favorite restaurant and the crowd tells me that I am not alone. Food is fresh, innovative, and delicious. We tried to get in the freezer but it was full so we out in the front. Its rather noisy there. Service was good. Found a nugget of a wine, Volver temeranillo, on the list."

"We ate at M&T for the first time on Valentine's day. I asked to be seated in Eleanor's, the speakeasy under the restaurant. You walk in through the casual deli part, then through the freezer door on the wall and down to the bar. We enjoyed the dinner and sampled the cocktails which were all very good. They use local produce too which is a plus. We spent a lot this time ($60/each for the fixed holiday menu, plus cocktails, but it was four courses so not too bad) but you could eat there and spend significantly less. Friends in Vinings that had eaten in the regular restaurant part did not know about the speakeasy part so it was fun being in on the secret."

"I have been traveling to the Smyrna area for business for over 6 years. Muss and Turners has been one of my favorite places to dine. They have a great beer and wine selections.
I love IPAs and there always a nice selection.

As for the food, it is always delicious. M&T has 5 or 6 featured items on their menu monthly.
On my last visit I had the Venison Ragu which was simply amazing.
All of my co-workers also enjoyed their meals and for a few of them it was their first time at M&T.
I can't wait for the weather to warm up as it is real nice after work to dine on their outdoor patio."

"This review is actually for Eleanor's - the speakeasy cocktail bar hidden deep in the bowels of Muss & Turner's. The decor is dark and cozy - no windows (you have to enter M&T's, go to the back of the restaurant, through a freezer door, and down a few dark hallways flanked with cabinets full of beer and wine to get there.)
The cocktail list ranged from refreshing gin-based drinks to smokier, bourbon-based ones. They have a small, but good beer selection that includes local craft brews from places like Wild Heaven.
The food was good, and the service was friendly, but could have been a little more attentive. All in all, it's definitely worth a try for small groups or couples looking for a private-feeling getaway for date night."

"We enjoyed our dinner, but the restaurant was a little more casual than I anticipated. We had the pimento cheese and the mussels to start. The pimento cheese was good, but not quite as spicy as I like. The mussels had a bit of curry in the broth and were fantastic. The beet salad was good, with whole hazelnuts on top. My husband had the burger and he said it was good, but not the best he's had. The Corpse Reviver 2 cocktail was unusual, but really good. Overall, I would go back again. I would get the mussels again, and I would try some other dishes. The place has a nice, casual atmosphere that is nice for a couple, but would also be great for a group of friends."

"This was my first visit to M & T. My friend arrived ahead and called to say I would find him through the cooler door! Sure enough, that door led to a darkly lit corridor that made a few twists and turn until I arrived at the bar! Very interesting set-up. The food was good...fries were yummy! Had the BBQ and friend had the burger. Both were very good. My java stout was delicious. We were on a tight schedule as we were going to a concert. The service was a bit slow, but the manager came by and when I asked if he would check on it, he did and we had the meal shortly afterward."
