"I have been to the chart house before. Many years ago it was a superb dining experience. A couple of years ago I went with my family and really didnt enjoy it. The service was slow, the prices high, and our bill was miscalculated (it was later corrected after I called the manager). I decided to give it a try for my daughters college graduation dinner. We were a party of five and although the server was very courteous, it took over 2 hours to get though our meal. Some of the things we ordered weren't available, by the time we were finally finished dinner, we had to wait another half hour for the dessert we had ordered with our meals! And bottom line, it was too expensive! The view of the water was nice and the cocktails were good too."

"This was the 3rd Mother's Day in a row that we ate at the Chart House, and each time, it's gone down hill.
2011 was great, 2012 was marred by a late arriving appetizer that showed up about 1 minute before our meals.
This time, it took 1 hour and 45 minutes to have a kitchen manager come over to tell us that the "kitchen was backed up" and that he was sorry for the delay.
We said no problem, as long as the food was hot.
10 minutes later, the food arrived, and while it wasn't cold, it wasn't hot either.
Pasta should be steaming upon arrival--it wasn't.
We complained to the manager, who apologized, and said he could re-cook the 2 cold meals, but it would take just as long to prepare them.
He comp'd 2 meals. Not really what we wanted."

"We made a reservation a month ahead of time. Table did not have a view of the water and I was disappointed by this. Our waiter seemed overwhelmed when he saw our table of 9. He took a drink order and brought us water but 25 minutes later we still did not have our drinks or appetizers. I asked at the hostess stand for assistance, then our experience improved and the rest of the evening was pleasant and the food was excellent."

"We went to Chart House for Mothers Day brunch and I'm sorry to say it was a disappointment . I've been to several Chart House restaurants in various cities and I have NEVER had a bad meal. The food was average at best and what made it worst is the service was nonexistent . We were never told about the omelet service that was offered and to pay $45 a head at least one orange juice complimentary ."

"My reservation was for 4:45 p.m. on Mother's Day . We were immediately seated and given menus , our waiter arrived promptly. We gave our menu choices and immediately went to the salad bar , but we didn't get our food until 6:17 p.m. Maybe the longevity was due to the fact it was Mother's Day . We dine at the Chart House numerous times during the year and food is brought to the table in a prompt time .We didn't leave the restaurant until 7:37 p.m. The food was good as always , The waiter was knowledgeable of the menu and made helpful food suggestions ."

"We had Isaac. He was awesome. He was so accomodating to us. He has the best personality for that type of work. He went in the kitchen and got ice cream for my 2 year old grand daughter. Which means a lot to me."

"I have been going to the Chart House for years. This restaurant has always been one of my favorites.
I must say that this last trip was very disappointing. Service was slow and the food was not very good. No matter what was ordered it.

"Our waiter started out terrific. He was knowledgeable on the menu and could recommend dishes quite well. Our appetizers came out quickly along with bread and refreshed bar beverages. Once our appys were cleared we waited 30 minutes for our entrees. No one refilled our water glasses the entire night. Dinner was delicious. Once cleared, dessert came right away (we had to pre-order this at the start of our meal). The waiter put three plates on the table, said all looked well and literally ran away. We did not get a chance to ask for coffee or after-dinner drinks! Our waiter did not return for the duration of our meal, until he brought the check! The last half of the evening was so disappointing."

"I love this restaurant. We went there for a company outing 3 years ago, and when I was planning the outing last night, I wanted to make sure we went back. We picked a 3 course meal deal. My dish was one of the best fish dishes I have ever had. They gave a seat next to a window, and because we work on the Camden Waterfront by the Aquarium, we were able to see our offices. The only downside, and if I could give a 4.5 for service instead of 4, I would, was I had to asked twice for a soda, and dessert took a while to come out. The mud pie was absolutely delicious!! Make sure to come to this treasure on the Penns Landing Waterfront in Philadelphia."

"...when we got it but it took extremely long for just our salads and appetizers to arrive. The waiter was excellent in the beginning but by the middle and end of our experience he became mediocre at best. He wasn't as attentive and took care of his other table more than ours, even though we were there the longest. I guess he judged a book by it's cover pertaining to what he thought that we would leave him for tip. He was absolutely wrong, we had a waitress at the table with us so we know how to tip and we know good service and she just wasn't impressed. He's lucky he received a tip at all. Overall, I would definitely come back: the food was awesome and the service was good in the beginning but I would definitely request a different server."

"I always wanted to try the Chart House in Philadelphia so bad and I finally did. The food was amazing! I had Shrimp Cocktail and Crab Cake. The crab cake had large lumps of crab and was presented in a very well fashion. It was very exciting. My girlfriend also loved her lobster bisque. For entrees, we had the Shrimp Fresca and the Filet Mignon. And for dessert, we had the Chocolate Lava Cake. The cake was to die for. It took a few minutes, but it was nothing like I tasted before. Would definitely go again. Also, our waitress Natalie was one of the best waitresses around. She had extremely good manners, but I liked that fact that she realized we were a young couple and treated us a young couple. I would definitely go again in the future."

"If you are in the Penn's Landing area and like to watch water while eating a delicious meal; Philly's hottest waterfront dining spot is The Chart House. Located just over the edge of dry land, this place has everything. Multiple levels, tranquility, amazing Lobster Bisque, great service, cocktails strong enough for your dad to enjoy... Think you might still be hungry? Then just place you order for Chopped Challenge. It's that thing where you have to order your dessert 30 minutes ahead of time so chefs can turn their basket and pantry items into a chocolate memory that will have you smiling as you leave."

"The service was horrible. I made a reservation and even though the place was emptyThey did not have our table ready. We waited 15 minutes when we walked inBefore anyone even came to see if we were helped. We waited another 20 minutes once we Were seated for someone to take our drink order. And this is all while the place was empty!The food was ok. "I ordered Dynamite Mahi-Mahi which was exceptionally good; my wife had the grilled seafood sampler, which was good, but not great. However, we had a table by the window on a gorgeous day at sunset. We were allowed to take our time in between courses (certainly not a gimme at many restaurants these days) and enjoy our bottle of wine during and after dinner."

"This was a date night late birthday celebration visit for my husband. the food was good. My husband had the filet mignon. It was a little overcooked but he like it. I hand the Alaskan King Crab which was very good and served with Baked Potato and drawn better. The drinks were good. I had the Peach Tea and My husband had the apple martini which we both enjoyed. This is a nice place and it has a very nice view. The service was OUTSTANDING! Issac our server was attentive, friendly, and very prompt. We did not order dessert but Issac bought my husband a dish of fresh fruit with freshly made whipped cream in honor of his birthday which was awesome!!! We would visit again."

"This resteraunt has an outstanding view and elegant dining ambiance. The server was very attentative and had a great attitude. He was quick and very proffesional. We had a very romantic time and I was impressed with the food. The only issue we had was that the food came out a little quick and was only warm, still deliciouse but only warm not hot. It was well worth the money spent. I asked my now fiance for her hand in marrigae and this was a great start to the evening."

"Dinner was special for my wife's birthday, just the two of us. We have been to this Chart House before, although not for two years.
Ambiance on Delaware river, late evening into the night is beautiful. I was especially pleased to find on arrival that using the Open Table reservations (first time ever) was absolutely acknowledged and respected by the front door staff. In fact, we arrived early and were shown our table 25 minutes early! Our service with Sebastian was great and our entrees (salmon and prime rib) were the best we have had for a long time anywhere! (We travel frequently throughout USA) And a cheesecake birthday cake with candle was nice final touch. Even the coffee pleased my birthday girl! Will go there again for sure!"

"Food and services was wonderful. And the views (almost all tables)of the Delaware river at sunset were pleasant.
After dinner there was an unexpected sales pitch for some "dining & savings" club which seemed out-of-character with the restaurant. But then, we had previously joined and, without our card, our waiter went the extra mile and was able to apply our bonus.
On the not-so-good-side..the "stains" on the tablecloth as we were seated were annoying."

"Food was terrible. I used to work at a restaurant and I know when food is left under a heat lamp for too long. I was not appetizing. The server however was wonderful and informative. Our seat though was facing Camden NJ and the view was terrible. We love the Chart House in Weehawken, but this just was not up to par."

"The restaraunt was understaffed with servers. In fact, I had to find a server to let them know we were seated and were expecting service. After the initial delay things improved, but the server was strectched to thin. He seemed to have disappeared for moments on end. I had Eggs Benedict and the eggs were undercooked. But the scenery makes up for the shortcommings. But I was reminded why I did not frequent this rest. and it seems the service challenges, that existed for years, continue to this day. It's a shame because there is so much potential with the location."

"Easter Brunch was relaxing, food was good, Brunch(food) was average, portions were small, the beef at the slicing table was fatty in my opinion. The shrimp was excellent, the crab legs were tiny, un-appealing too eat. The breakfast "french toast" not great, but Ok.
Overall, I would go back, my son and his girlfriend really enjoyed the afternoon and that's what counted too me. Their Dinners and their cocktails are #1."

"Food is always amazing and we kept on coming back because of it. We never had complaints about service until this last time we ate at Chart House. Waitress took her time for every round - we waited for water for nearly 20 minutes and bread was brought in about 15 minutes after the water. She mentioned that she will bring a spoon for my pasta, which she initially forgot, but never actually gave it to me. Unusually for the place, staff looked distracted. Whether there were other reasons for it, it was a really unpleasant experience for us."

"When we dine out for a special occasion, we want the whole package: good food, attentive service and great surroundings. At the Chart House, we got it all. The food was delicious! We don't care if it's Philadelphia's best, but in our opinion it was perfect so who cares if Craig LeBan(sp?)loves it or not. The view is to die for, and on a beautiful evening, we were enchanted. The Chart House made our little celebration as good as it gets. We plan on celebrating many other occasions there where we were made to feel special."

"After reading mixed reviews on The Chart House I was skeptical as to dining here or not. With that being said I can only chalk the bad reviews up to some sad outlooks on life. From the moment we entered the door we were greeted by the most pleasant young lady named Melisa who was more than accommodating when we arrived with an extra guest, and then again when we requested to move to another table to avoid the noise of the kitchen. Our server Eric was attentive and helpful with several wonderful recommendations! The wine list was quite extensive which I found as a pleasant surprise. The food was flavorful and delicious. Hats off to the chef for preparing such amazing dishes. Will definitely return!"

"I enjoyed my evening at the Chart House. When making my reservation, I made mention of the day being my Birthday, and that I wanted the experience to be very memorable. Upon arriving we were greeted by a valet, who did his thing with style. I was greeted with "Happy Birthdays" from practically everyone we came in contact with. The food was great. We started off with an amazing appetizer, that was recommended by our waiter, "Sharaque". The main course was different, but enjoyable, and honestly we did not have room for desert, and just ended with some hot tea. Overall, the night was one to remember, I enjoyed myself immensely! I have always enjoyed dining at the Chart House, but this night was one to definitely remember."

"Was there for Sunday brunch on Easter. The salad bar was fine, but the food buffet was awful and not nearly worth the $50 per person price. Additionally, the dessert table was terrible; all stuff out of a box from the supermarket. I felt like I had been ripped off. I like the Chart House, but I will never go for a brunch buffet again."
