"I arrived for my 8:15 reservation on time and was informed that I had to wait 10 min while they found me a very good table. This normally wouldn't bother me but after about 15 minutes the proceeded to seat my girlfriend and I right next to the kitchen in an overly crowded room where I couldn't even hear our waiter. The service was good and the food was great but I expect more out of reservations when I am spending over $100/person."

"My husband and I went to Carnevor for out 11th anniversay. It was perfect! Dinner was delicious!!!! The service was excellent too. After our dinner, our waitress came by and gave us a little envelope. When i opend it, they had made special menus for us that said Happy 11th Anniversary and our names on them. I thought that was so nice, then she came back with some cheesecake for us to enjoy. I will definately be going back."

"Another great steak at Carnevor. We went with another couple and it was their first visit. All the steaks were done to perfection. The server actually suggested what they call medium rare plus. It's just a little beyond medium rare and works well with steaks that are bone in. We were going to the theater after dinner, and they timed everything perfectly without making us feel rushed, so we made it out on time."

"The food was great. However, save up because it will cost you. We had asked for a table near the window and the response was, no. When I asked why they said they were all reserved (every one was open). Then we were seated in direct line of the door, so every time it opened, we got a cold breeze. The service was ok, however the waiter always seemed like he couldn't get away from us fast enough and several times I had to raise my voice to get him to come back. The shining star is the food. The steak was perfect, the brussel sprouts couldn't have been better. Save it for a special occasion."

"This was our first visit and Will took the time to explain the philosophy of the restaurant...no smoke and mirrors...the food speaks for itself. We started with the Lobster Bisque and Corn Chowder, which were delicious. Then our meat came out on the plate all by itself, no fancy presentation. We took our first bite and it melted in our mouths, then we understood why the steak was standing alone on the plate. The truffle mashed potatoes and roasted veggies were also done to perfection. We are HUGE fans now and will definitely be going back."

"My wife and I visited Carnevor to celebrate her birthday. We were expecting a great meal, but our expectations were easily exceeded. The wine list is extensive and diverse. The attention to detail by the service staff is unsurpassed, and the food itself was flavorful and done to perfection. Our experience at Carnevor was, without question, one of the best we've ever had at a restaurant in Wisconsin, or anywhere else for that matter."

"I reserved a table for two online. Waited an additional 15 minutes for my table. The restaraunt itself was on the smaller side and the place was busy. Staff was very friendly. Food was very good. I had the dry aged new york strip. Pricey but good. My girlfirend and I enjoyed ourselves. We will definately dine at Carnevor again."

"This was our 2nd visit to Carnevore. We do not live in Milwaukee, or we would go there more often. Everything was oustanding. The staff attentive and friendly. It was just a romantic night out, no occasion, and I had flowers sent to the table using the opentable flower service. Every staff person that came by our table congratulated us or asked what the occasion was. The opentable flower service is also outstanding. I recommend it for making a night out really special. The food at Carnevore is excellent. I had the corn chowder, which was the best I have ever had, and the steak and lobster and rissoto. My wife had the small tenderloin with vegetables, which is fantastic bargain at $39. Great deal on a French wine."

"My husband and I had the pleasure of dining at Carnivor last night to celebrate his 50th birthday. Though we had difficulty finding the restaurant because of it's signage, our dining experience there far exceeded every expectation. The hostess was welcoming, and service was attentive--yet not overly. My husband thoroughly enjoyed his wet-aged ribeye, and I found my barrel cut filet mignon to be the best I've ever eaten. Both were cooked perfectly. The roasted corn chowder was scrumptious, though the portion was smaller than expected being priced at $10. The beignets/donuts we had for dessert were delicious, and a wonderful way to end our meal. We will definitely be back, and found it to be the perfect place to celebrate a special occasion."

"I've been to Carnevor approximately 5 times, and every time has been a great experience. The food is incredible. Their truffle mashed potatoes are the best potato-related dish I've ever had (sorry Mom). I'm in love with their 60-day dry aged, bone-in ribeye. Service is always outstanding. It's a perfect place to take a significant other for a special night out, like Valentine's Day.
There is an "upper" area, accessed by a staircase, and a "lower" area at Carnevor. The "upper" area is considerably quieter than the "lower." I try to get seated up the stairs whenever possible. The only other negative about Carnevor is the price! Items are ordered a la carte and my beloved ribeye costs $75. But as a special occasion, it's worth it."

"The food was great. It is one of the best steaks I have had in my life. The service was very polite and stayed on top of our drinks. They had a good drink menu and the wine list was on par with other highend locations. The decor is starting to feel a little old, but that is what happens when the decor is trendy. If you like modern contemporary designed than you will love it. Overall a great resturuant an worth the money to dine there."

"This reservation I made actually for a guest of ours ( I am the Concierge at the Intercontinental Hotel) - but my husband got invited from the SURG Group restaurants for a tasting dinner about 2 weeks ago on a Wednesday night. We had Shaun as a server and he was fantastic. I usually do not eat steak, but since we were at Carnevor I figured I should try some- Shaun recommended the Filet Mignon, we ordered a asparagus, mashed potatoes and sauce bernaise with that. It was the best dinner I had in a long time.
I will definetely be back- for exactly the same Dinner!"

"From the moment we arrived we felt we were well taken care of. Bartender friendly and prompt. We were seated at our reservation time and liked the way the waiter mentioned and gave us a special menu for our anniversary. The crab cakes were very tasty and crisp. Loved the Tomato and Mozzarella salad.The Petite steak was done just as I asked and felt the vegetables complimented the delicious steak.We felt the dessert popovers were astounding and so generous an offering for a special occasion.It was refreshing to have something offered for dessert other than the usual tiramisu and cheesecake!"

I noticed all age levels there, but my 19-year-old nephew and 28-year-old niece and her 33-year-old husband commented to me that I chose a winner, which I've never heard from them before. Excellent food and service. Plus, we had my 84-year-old mother and her 89-year-old boyfriend there, and they both enjoyed Carnevor."

"Absolutely loved our experience here. Took my wife here for our 10th anniversary, and every member of the staff congratulated us! They even custom printed the menu to congratulate us! (nice touch guys!) The menu is simple and straight forward. You know you are going to get amazing food, just have to figure out how much you want to pay! The steaks are tender and cooked to perfection, and any place that will add a fried egg on top of the steak is cool with me! Took our servers advice, and ordered the brussell sprouts and asparagus, delicious!"
