"I wanted to take my son who just graduated from The School of Mines back to the place I took him the night before we had to say good bye his freshman year. There were six of us, including his 2 remaining grandparents, that joined in on the celebration on this night.
My son and I have visited several of the Chart House restaurants over the years, with our favorite being the Portland, Or. location. The views of Mt. Hood & Mt. St. Helena was spectacular. I recently remarried and had to take my new bride to teh Vegas Chart House in Vegas.
Thank you for making our last night all together in Golden Colorado one to always remember!

"I took my Mom and my wife to Chart House for Mother's Day dinner, hoping for a special meal for Mom. It was anything but special. Food was poor and very overpriced for what you get. I had the crab stuffed shrimp. Crab was stringy and dry, shrimp was over cooked and tough.
This was my second trip to Chart House in the past few months, first trip I had a steak that was poor. But I thought I would give them another try because my past experiences were good. Well, no more.
I noticed that Chart House has been purchased by Landry's Seafood, so that may have something to do with it.
If you are looking for a special meal, look elsewhere."

"Short ribs were were more like pot roast and the wild caught king salmon special was more like a fish stick that was over cooked. The kitchen forgot to include asparagus, which was included with the short rib dinner. Wine list was shallow but not wildly overpriced. Service was cordial. Ambiance was the best part of the experience. We've been to the Chart House restaurants in San Diego many years ago and remember them warmly; however, this recent experience disappointed us."

"Josh was a great waiter. Food ordered was 3 dinners, Talapia, Shrimp special dinner and salmon.
Talapia, hard to ruin this fish but you did. This was my meal, I did not eat it.
Shrimp - breaded and it was wet and mushy - bad shrimp maybe?
Salmon - dried out, left on plate.
Sides of mushrooms and asparagus, both good.
Get some training for your food prep guys, they lack the ability to prepare good seafood!

"We have been going to the Chart House for years. Once Landry's took over the quality took an enormous tailspin. Portions are incredibly small. A thin sliver of salmon, a small maybe 5oz. Portion of halibut at full price. Would suggest Pappadeaux if you want good healthy portions of fish. They had no bernaise for an oscar topping. Service average not great. The menu has become extremely limited."

"Although we enjoyed our night at The Chart House, I was slightly disappointed in the food and my martini. I ordered an expensive special "cucumber" martini, which was supposed to have "fresh cucumbers in it" and when it was brought to my table, it was just a tad over 1/2 full with no cucumber and no garnish. When I asked about it, the waittress said "Oh, we are out of cucumber!" I think I should have been warned about that sooner. I ordered halibut, which I swear had to have been mahi mahi or another type of thin filet of fish. Halibut is usually a thick piece of fish, more like sword fish than like trout. This filet was probably about 3 oz., very very thin and very flaky. Way too small for the price."

"I have been dining at the CH since it opened, 1983.
Always loved the food and experience. Since it became
part of the Landry corporation the food is nothing
special. The location and views are the same fabulous vistas.
The food is over priced. I am so sad. My favorite dish, Ahi Tuna,
is not affordable. I eat at WillieGs, a Landry restaurant, and they
are more reasonable for the same food."

"Three prime rib plates were served extremely cold...I have never returned a meal, but this one was cold beyond being edible. All three were returned to be warmed and they were returned cooked to well done when ordered medium rare. Although staff removed the three plates from the bill, I never ate an entree as the rest of the table was done with their meal by the time the prime rib was returned.
Not impressed as this was our second trip to the Chart House...Other than prime rib, your steak choice is a New York strip. Calamari was soggy and bland. Artichoke dip was spot on.
We eat out at various restaurants from high end to everyday kitchens and likely will not be back to the Chart House. Unfortunate...."

"We went on Easter Sunday and have been on many occasions before. This time it was not as good as in the past. The service was excellent but the food preparation was off - probably due to the high volume of customers. The Caesar salad had very little, if any dressing, my wife's salmon was overcooked and the potatoes cold. It just wasn't up to their regular standards."

"Overall we enjoyed our visit to the Chart House. We found the table very small with barely enough room for four settings - it seemed rather too cluttered to easily access the shared appetizers in the middle. We were a little put off by the "salad bar" option which would be more fitting in a more moderate restaurant. The table service was excellent and the food delicious. With so many great restaurants in Denver, I don't know that we would go out of our way to go back."

"I haven't visited a Chart House since leaving San Diego in early 90's, but having driven past the Genesee location countless times on trips to the mountains, and my wife never having been (she is a Denver native), I thought it would be a nice surprise for her 36th birthday. I read some of the recent (past year) reviews online, and was a bit skeptical. It was the start of a spring snowstorm, so a view of Denver would be impossible. We were lucky to have a corner window table when we arrived at 6:45, and had a very nice view of the snow falling throughout the evening. Custom take-home menus w/ my wife's name and "Happy Birthday"on the top was a surprise, and our service and the food were all top-notch, exactly like I remember from SoCal"

"Loved the Chart House. My two suggestions for improvement:
1) Select a more destinguished style music for better ambiance
and
2) Spread the tables out just a little more--it is a little tight to move around

"My fiancée and I went here the night we got engaged. The view was amazing, the service was excellent, and even though she is new to seafood and was hesitant to try something new, she loved the dishes she tried. For anyone getting engaged in warm weather, Lookout Mountain is only a few miles east of the restaurant."

"A very special place for a special occasion. For such a special place, I'd say the price wasn't bad. Food portions were very good, (not just one shrimp and a sprig of decorative greenery, for example, I had ate too much but it was too good to waste. My husband took home leftovers. Salad bar also had plenty of fruit and a caviar 'bar'. The wait staff is very professional and non-invasive. We'll go back, soon!"

"Chart House in Golden, CO was very pleasant. Food was good. Ambiance and views of the city were beautiful. Service was outstanding. It was a little pricey for the quality of the food. Our group of 6 was running a bit late and they called at our reservation time to ensure we were on our way and didn't get lost trying to find the restaurant - nice touch!"

"Our first trip to this restaurant. Just one more outstanding feature about Colorado!! We moved from Houston in October- Thanks be to God! Food and service was great. May be even better . More trips to Chart House will clarify this. I have enjoyed the Chart House in New Orleans 100 times in the past. I like Golden location better!!"

"Dining at the Chart House was a wonderful experience. The ambiance, food and service were exceptional. The courses were perfectly timed and the food came out just the right temperature and the presentation perfect. Excellent wine and drink selection and the Lava Cake was incredible. This was a special occassion outing for us and it did not disappoint. It was quiet, romantic and truly a special place."

"The food here has been hit or miss, this last time it was a miss. The salmon special with pico de gallo was burnt on one side and they fogot the pico when they brought it out which caused the food to cool before consumption. Service was great , she tried to do her best. The kitchen manager needs to get in the game."

"Our first trip to the Chart House was really great. The food was excellent and the service was spot on! However, our second trip was not as good. Our trips were about 1 year apart. The food was not quite as good and the service definitely lacked a bit. I had the fillet both trips. For the price the food and service should be consistently excellent. I do love the atmosphere, quite and romantic."
