"I think it was a bit drafty being in the lobby of a hotel close to the main door. But it was quiet and nice to be able to chat with my friends. The place felt comfortable, not crowded. There was a wait ordering and the food was so so. My dish did not seem fresh or hot enough."

"Business lunch works well here as the tables are farther apart than at most lunch places and the dining area is set away from the street. Food was fine, but the quiet was most appreciated."

"The resturaunt atmosphere was amazing a great place to relax and have an amazing meal. We started the meal off with one of the house flight of gin, being my first time trying gin it was pretty spectacular. We had three appetizers lamb sliders, oysters and most notiably the pâté. Any one of these is a great way to start a fine meal my favorite was the pâté. For my entree I had a perfectly cooked ribeye. The steak came from a local ranch, so the steak couldn't have been any better. The service was impeccable, we had multiple people constantly checking on the table. I would highly recommend this restaurant."

"Two of the three dishes arrived cold and dried out -- as if they'd been sitting under a heat light and then not. Very disappointing food, especially compared to Silks."

"I was pleasantly surprised by Brasserie S&P. It's located on the ground floor of the Mandarin Oriental and it's beautifully furnished, with a calm-oasis vibe (except for an annoying kid or two). We came for Sunday brunch and ordered smoked salmon eggs benedict and fried egg sandwich, both delicious. Cafetiere coffee, unlimited loose leaf tea, my kind of place exactly. Service was spotless. Did I say I loved the quiet atmosphere? I will definitely keep this in mind for the future. Dinner might also be a good option, albeit a tad more noisy, I expect."

"Great place for a snack or meal before an event in the financial district area of SF. Quiet, refined, pleasant. Very nice welcome. It is a bit pricey, but if you park on Sacramento at 6PM you avoid the garage fees and can put that toward your dinner."

"The food and service managed to outshine the room which is very open and can get very noisy when full. I would suggest that they try to do something to the ceiling to absorb the sound. I loved the food, but would hesitate to return unless I thought it might be a slow night."

"Our server was very friendly and helpful. The food was just good. There wasn't anything wrong with it...It just didn't stand out. I had the spaghetti with clams which was kind of bland. My boyfriend had the turkey burger which was good but not special. The highlight was our cocktails. They were different and tasty! I would go back for drinks but not for dinner.
I gave 2 stars for ambiance because to us it felt like being in the middle of the hotel lobby. It didn't feel like a separate space."

"Brasserie S&P is probably one of the most slept on restaurants in SF. I don't know if its poor marketing by them or the stigma of a hotel restaurant from guests, but this place is not nearly as busy as it should be. The service is outstanding, and the food is remarkable but everytime I've stopped by this place I hardly see other people dining.
The highlights of my meal would definitely be the pork loin as well as their flight of gin & tonic."

"OK, OK, so yes, it is a hotel restaurant, so we weren't sure what to expect, but that said - we will DEFINITELY be back! The service was great - they even gave us extra oysters and extra portions (don't tell the manager!), poured a little extra (free!) wine, and didn't make us strictly adhere to the pre-fix menu with wine pairings. Each course was delicious!! The staff was very knowledgable about the food, making some great recommendations. They even gave away roses at the end of the night. Thanks for making our first Valentines in San Francisco so memorable!"

"Disappointed in the Dine-about-Town menu which offered no choice. The restaurants that understand the point of the promotion give you at least 2 choices of entree and one other course as they know that essentially they are auditioning for your continued patronage. I have used D-a-T for the 12 years it has been available and have had the fun of trying new restaurants which I have then returned to or recommended to friends. It is a lovely restaurant and would be great for lunch or brunch on weekends as it is conveniently located and blessedly quiet enough to be able to hold a conversation with your dining companions. Other items on the menu looked interesting and our added appetizer of duck liver was excellent and the highlight of our meal."
