Tucked away in a sleepy side street in the heart of Buckhead, Anis is located in a converted house that has been renovated to look and feel like one of many little charming restaurants that you are likely to find in the Provence region in the south of France.
The menu is deeply rooted in the ingredients and aromas that give dishes from the French Mediterranean region their unique flavors.
Anis is comprised of an inside dining room and an outside patio area that is available for seating year round, and a charming little bar where you may enjoy a meal if you wish.
Widely known as one of the most romantic dining spots in the city, Anis is a great place to meet up with friends and can cater to large parties with ease.
Reservations are accepted and encouraged.

"Not a real "foodie" but our dinner was wonderful. We had mussels and I I had the evening special - Mahi mahi. My husband had the duck. Delicious meal. My only negative was that we were sitting right by the street/parking lot outside."

"We made our reservation and almost changed it when Anis called to be sure we knew that on Mother's Day they served a buffet and not a regular menu. We took a chance (I'm not a lover of buffet service as I feel the food is usually mass produced). We were not disappointed! The qualifty of the food coupled with a broad offering of choices made this a lovely way to spend an afternoon. The seared tuna was so wonderful and as we lingered among the last diners the server brought dessert to our table so we wouldn't miss out. The chef's delivery of some home made white chocolate pralines was especially appreciated!"

"Anis is a small but charming French restaurant serving brunch, lunch, and dinner. The appetizers are delicious and the service is very attentive. A complimentary valet is available in the evenings during dinner hours. I actually enjoyed the bread and appetizers so much that I did not order an entree. Dessert and cappuccino is a good way to cap off the delightful dinner. I would recommend this restaurant to others."

"Thought the food was good but not exciting as it should be for the price - $280 for four with one bottle of $34 wine. The halibut was the fish - served on a bed of corn - not particularly creative. Bread was good as was the mussel appetizer . The apple tartin was apple slices with caramel poured on - did have the flavor of an apple tartin. Duck confit was not particularly well prepared . Service was excellent."

"This was a other pleasant evening of food and friends. As the weather was dreadful the outside area was a bit drafty, the staff was very accommodating in moving our party. The food and wine were wonderful as usual. This is one of our favorite little gems to share with out-of-towners or new friends."

"Anis is on a quiet residential street with trees and older homes, so there are no jangling lights and loud noises. It is peaceful with a delightfully quirky décor. Valet parking is a definite plus. Though not a food connoisseur, I know what I like. Each meal I have had has been a taste treat. The service is outstanding. Wait staff is attentive without being overbearing. They do not rush to take your plates away, leaving the slower diner to eat with only their plate on the table. For especially important occasions when I want everyone in my party to enjoy dinner, Anis is my restaurant of choice."

"We enjoyed the charcuterie plate, and the waiter was nice enough to add some cheese. The pate was a little dry, but the cheeses/meats were delicious.
I ordered the duck confit and the portion was larger than expected, not oily, and excellent. Loved it. My friend ordered the lamb chops and they were equally delicious.
My only complaint would be the high noise level inside and unruly children at the next table."

"Anis is remarkable for its authentic French bistro food, wonderful wine list, friendly service and its ambiance. It was a golden find for us in Atlanta. The Wednesday evening was very busy but we had no trouble getting a reservation via Open Table. There is an old Deux Chevaux parked next to an extended covered dining patio that is very popular. The food is fresh, prepared to order and done properly -- the trout menuiere was flawless in execution, as was the roasted salmon. A concise wine list nonetheless has solid choices from each region of France. Our dessert -- a blueberry basil sorbet that capped a memorable evening -- was the final surprise. When we find ourselves in Atlanta again, we'll be back."

"I loved it! Delicious octopus carpacio (rare find), wonderful mussels. We all loved our meal. Brought 2 seven year olds and the kids pasta they brought was not the ordinary. Lovely light fresh tomato sauce and they added spinich to it. Lots of wonderful seafood choices. My husband loved his trout. the stacked roasted tomato salad with fresh mozzarella was not only a wonderful presentation but was very flavorful and unique. Server is a foodie/knowledgable, excellent and very attentive. I would go back in a heart beat. YUMMY!! I am rarely happy with my restaurant meals but this one was memorable."

"My husband and I tried this for the first time during Buckhead restaurant week. We were half an hour late for our reservation, but told by Arnaud, that we were right on time. The decor was whimsical, somewhere between European village and Alice and Wonderland. The owner Arnaud takes the time to seat every table, which is a really nice touch.
Our server Veronica was attentive without being overbearing. Our food was delicious. He had Merguez sausage and a Salmon entree, with Roquefort risotto. I had the mussels with garlic cream and duck confit for an entree. Throughout the meal there was a pleasant hum of conversation and bustle of activity. We will definitely return. We were thinking Sunday Brunch with our 5 year old."

"After being disappointed by the previous night's dinner, I had low expectations for Anis Bistro. But from my greeting to my goodbye, I was impressed! From the familiar and friendly environment to the really delicious food (I had the duck Confit), I was anticipating my return. This place is special and made it to my sparse Top 10 list. I can't wait to return."
