Sullivan's is reminiscent of a 1940's Chicago style steakhouse. The interior has touches of art deco with dark polished wood, crisp black linen and fresh flowers. Sullivan's serve the finest hand selected premium choice aged beef, which is cut in-house daily, along with a great selection of seafood, ranging from Salmon Steaks to Florida Stone Crab Claws and Live Maine Lobsters. "Although are reservation was for 6;30 and and we did not get seated until 7:30 making us late for our show., The staff did everything to accomadate us once we were seated. Our food, desert and check were all prepared in less then 30 minutes. Our waitress was aware we were in a time crunch and worked very hard to get us back on schedule. The food was very good in all respects. Robert Munson"

"The food and service was overall good, although the steak we ordered was pretty undercooked. That is probably the only thing that we could complain about. The chicken I had ordered was good, I didn't really care for the peas on top or the green onions in the mashed potatoes, but I am kind of a picky eater."

"I have always enjoyed Sullivans, but on this occasion, I reserved through OpenTable and included some special instructions..need to get out quickly because we were going to a concert. Food was consistently high quality and well prepared. The most notable was the excellent service by Oksana, who saw to our every need and request and made sure that we were finished in plenty of time to make the concert.

This restaurant remains one of the few top steak houses in Anchorage. An elegant restaurant for entertaining..a quick dinner before the show or a whole evening of fine dining as the main event."

"Sullivan's did a great job setting up for Valentine's Day dinner. The restaurant was set up very nice and the food was great. The Filet was cooked perfect and the goat cheese butter on top added a new taste. My wife and I had a great time."

"I couldn't have asked for better. My filet mignon was perfect, my wife's crab-filled cakes were outstanding, the staff always took care of our needs in a timely fashion without being obtrusive. while waiting for our seat we greatly enjoyed the live jazz coming from the bar, and the background music in the restaurant itself -- a mixture of 1930s and 1940s -- also gave pleasure. Our dining experience was tops."

"My entree was a bit strange, I had the New York Strip and it came off as 2 thin slices instead of the traditional New York thicker Strip that I was expecting. It did taste really good. My side was the asparagus and it came to the table cold. That was a bit strange to me, my steak was perfect temperature but my side wasn't? Hmm...my husband's Fillet Mignon was too rare, the middle looked like it was sashimi tuna instead of medium to rare steak. Our drinks didn't arrive til before the dessert was going to arrive, that was a bummer. Though the manager did give it to us on the house coz of that. I had the Chocolate dipped strawberries and I thought I would get a few more than just 3 pieces. Maybe 5 or 7. My husband's NY cheesecake was heaven."

"Arrived at the arranged time. Was told it would be a few minutes before the table was available. I inquired if we could wait at the bar and was told sure, no problem. After an extended wait I inquired of our table status to which the hostess appeared annoyed. She had checked us off as seated. That I would wait at the bar and not in fornt of her station was apparently quite appaling to her. SIMPLY TELL THE CUSTOMER IF THEY SHOULD NOT WAIT IN THE BAR AREA, which by the way is immediately adjacent the hostess station. The food was good but due to the nature of the service at the hostess station, I doubt we will visit again anytime soon."

"We went for Valentines Day Dinner. Despite having a reservation, it took almost 30 minutes to be seated. They had specials, however at 6:30 pm when we ordered they where out of several items. Our waitress was just barely compentent. At one point she was almost rude. We asked for a few more minutes to choose after being informed our first choices were not available. When she returned, she asked in a not pleasant tone of voice if we had figured it out. The steaks we had were great, however, the vegetables weren't cooked properly. Overall, considering it was Valentines Day and the place was packed, it was good."

"I am a frequent customer and intend to continue to be one. This specific experience was a nightmare with absolutely the worst service from the individual server. Forgotten drinks, long wait to be seated (well past the reservation time), mistake in food order, no water refill, request for missing salt and pepper ignored.....are a few of items that contributed to experience.

Management DID intervene and they corrected all of the defiencies. It is too bad that it had to happen that way though.

All is forgiven and I did tip the kitchen staff!"

"We enjoy Sullivans - famous for great martini's and steaks - of which they do a great job with both! We had Valentines Day dinner there, and my only comment would be that they seem to have problems seafood. My salmon came to me cooked to a leathery over-done condition, and if we were not in a rush to get to the theater, I would have sent it back. Other than that, they do an overall good job."

"Great first impression. Table bread was incredible. Service was friendly but inattentive. Very low lighting for daytime meals. Filet mignon was phenomenal! There should be a note on the dessert menu about the wait for souffles. The creme brûlée was served too soon after the sugar was torched and it was very runny. Disappointing end to an otherwise enjoyable lunch."

"The staff were just wonderful. One steak was ordered well done, and we had to send this back for more cooking, since it was not cooked well done when first brought to the table. Another order of steak was sent back because the meat smelled quite bad. The restaraunt replace this order at no charge, which we appreciated. The espresso was just divine!"

"I visited Sullivan's on New Year's Eve. The menu was somewhat limited, but the food was great. My only complaint was that the menu wasn't very kid friendly, but the chef prepared something just for my 2 year old daughter off menu. Our waitress was great, the service was prompt and again, the food was great! We had a four course menu for 50 bucks! Definitely worth going back."

"From start to finish our dining experience was wonderful. Immediately upon being seated,we were asked our drink order and then served our drinks quickly. Every stage of the meal went well, with our server providing attentive but not intrusive service, and he also had a very pleasant personality. The food was excellent. I can't think of one thing that could be improved upon. We did eat near the beginning of dinner service, and the restaurant became quite busy before we left so the servers were very busy and I don't think the customers were able to receive the service we received."

"This was supposed to be a celebratory dinner...at the conclusion there was little to celebrate besides the steak. It was a late Sunday night dinner; we were seated at 7:45 p.m. We ordered a bottle of wine and our dinners around 8 p.m. My husband ordered the prime rib and our server didn't know they were out, but she found out 20 minutes later and came back to let us know. Then 5 minutes after that she came back and told me they were out of the salad I ordered. So, it was over 40 minutes before our salads were delievered to the table. Our guests had empty water glasses throughout their dinner. We talked to a manager and he thankfully did take our wine and sides off our check, but it was a very disappointing evening."

"We arrived early and the restaurant was mostly empty with only a couple of tables occupied. The hostess proceeded to seat our party of two at a tiny table in the middle of the restaurant. When I requested one of the many open booths she "huffed" back up to the hostess stand and seated us at a booth right next to the very loud and busy kitchen. We could hear someone talking about his baby mama and other conversations. We waited a long time to be greeted by our waiter to which we had to REQUEST a wine list. He handed us a wine list and asked if he could take our dinner order without allowing us an opportunity to look over the wine list. We were very disappointed with our experience and do not plan to return."
