Valentino
Veteran restaurateur Piero Selvaggio, known for cultivating one of the finest wine cellars in the world, brings his famed Los Angeles restaurant 'Valentino' to The Venetian. Valentino at the Venetian showcases an innovative menu that is faithful to the Italian culinary tradition. The cuisine is contemporary Italian focusing on the quality of ingredients, revisiting traditional recipes, and adapting to the local market. Many of the ingredients in the kitchen are imports from Italy, including white truffles, fresh porcini mushrooms, burrata cheese from Puglia, and Mediterranean and Adriatic Sea fish. Breads are baked fresh daily.

"We had a special celebration and the food was disappointing. The my wife took only one bite of the sea bass and would not eat the reminder. The calamari were the worst I have ever tasted. My veal chop was very good. Overall, I would not return nor recommend this restaurant. Thank you"

"We'd never eaten in the 'back' part of Valentino. We'd dined at the more casual part out front, and every time we did, we noticed that people going to the back were dressed elegantly. But that was many years ago. Since we found out they are closing in July, we made the pilgrimage. The first thing we noticed was that the patrons in the back were dressed as casually as those out front! We had THE best waiter, and the food was wonderful. Now we are thinking about heading out to Santa Monica to try the original Valentino!"

"We were seated in front dining area which was quite condusive to table conversation. The food was excellent, the waiter quite knowlegable about the dishes. Requests for tweeks to the dishes were made without question. The only downside was the slow removal of dishes from the table. All in all, a very enjoyable dining experience."

"My wife and I visited this restaurant about 6 years ago and was blown away from the level service, food and ambience. Our experience this past Saturday night was the opposite. Our Waiter was flippant and didn't disclose that their was a entree fee for larger portions just took it upon himself to upgrade my meal to that size without recommending that to me. It used to have an elegant feel to the restaurant now it is now confused multi-colors. I brought my complaint to the Manager as I left and he stated "thank for bringing it to my attention." We definitely won't be return to this restaurant!"

"I love this place for a nice dinner with my wife or a great dinner with a small group of friends. Very good food and wine list. I would recommend the tasting menu and the wine pairing. Enjoying the tasting menu can take almost two hours on a busy night, but it is worth the tasteful ecstasy."

"Ordered the Prime Rib for dinner and asked for "medium rare" - I was a little disappointed that they charred the outside a bit too much that it caused a bitter taste to the meat and cooked the meat more than I wanted it to be. Then for dessert, I ordered the Vanilla-Chocolate creme brulee served with Pistachio Gelato....the creme brulee itself could use more vanilla bean flavor and the chocolate was just plain old chocolate tasting.
As a foodie, I was expecting more from this restaurant as it had been awarded a James Beard award."

"It may not be fair to the restaurant, but we went on a TravelZoo speacial - I assumed they did this to get exposure. It was very embarassing, as they said out loud "oh, you're with the Travel zoo speacial?", and then proceeded to sit us down in the back, and give us a very small menu, and explain out looud that as we were there on a discount package, we got less. I couldn't get out of there fast enough, so their efforts to get people in are not working...
I would think if you agree to give out the special, treat the people as potential repeat customers and not white trash..."

"We had dinner here because it was in the dining guide plus we received a 20% off coupon when we checked in. I made the reservation on line through Open Table. We both had pasta and soup. The lentil soup had one scallop and was good but a bit expensive at $16. The pasta dinners at $36 and $39 were very small but tasty. Mine was a bit dry, but having just been to Rome less than 4 months ago, I had been spoiled by some great food there. Service was good. Water was refilled promptly, and the crumbs were scraped away. Our total with two entrees, two soups, and 1 glass of Pecorino wine at $12 a glass with tip was $125 after the 20% discount on the food (a savings of 21.400. I doubt I would eat here again because there are so many options."

"All I can say is that it was ok. The best thing about the whole night was our waiter, he was friendly and we had a chat about football when the meal was over - best thing about the whole night. The food was average and the wine was good, the place was empty which should have been a warning to us. Don't waste your time or your money going here. Personally, I think they should just shut the place down and try something else. Absolute waste of $300."

"I ate twice at Valentino at Palazzo, once for dinner, and once for lunch. I cannot imagine two more different experiences.
The dinner was beyond spectacular; every bit on par with the Santa Monica original for quality, service, and experience. The vegetable risotto was mind-blowing, and I don't often use mind-blowing in the same sentence as vegetable risotto. Our waiter was terrific.
Lunch, however, was absolutely dreadful. Though the restaurant was empty, the service was slow and confused. Our entrees were served before our appetizers. The pizza was a tasteless soggy mess that we had to send back (they offered to "crisp it up" for us but it was not something that could have been salvaged). The Grand Lux Cafe would have been better"

"We had the taste of the menu prixe fixed meal. It was enough food for a week so don't order this unless you have a huge appetite. We did get an appreciation for the food on the menu and know which dishes to order the next time we got to Vegas but this was too much food and we will order a la carte the next time we visit."

"Made my reservation like ~3 hours before with no problem. Our waiter (his name was Chris) was corteous and funny, the food was amazing and the tiramisu was incredible. The prices are very reasonable although we were given a 20% of the bill by the hotel since we were guests at The Venetian. Overall, I would recommend this place if you are looking to avoid the long lines at any other place PLUS you won't regret it, great experience!"

"Made a reservation for 730 didnt get seated untill 840.. asked for a booth, the then told me the best seat in the house was opening in 15 min would you like to wait longer, said yes,WAS NOT THE BEST SEAT IN THE HOUSE!!!! ABSOLUTE WORST SEAT NEXT TO THE KITCHEN!! If the food wasnt so good would not ever go back but the food made up for it... Sad I got the worst seat in the house since the place is using my families name!!!!"

"We were seated in a "hallway" between the servers' station and the main dining room, so there was constant traffic past our table. As my wife and I were enjoying our appetizer, the server showed up with our salad and soup course. I asked him to return the dishes to the kitchen until we had finished the appetizer. He left with the dishes, and we never saw them again.
When our entrees arrived, we asked the server about the missing soup and salad. Soon the waiter, the maitre d', and the manager showed up at our table and apologized. They offered to bring the soup and salad after we finished our entrees. I refused the salad, but they insisted on bringing my wife's soup, which they did not charge for. Overall, a very disappointing experience."
