A seasonal bistro named after Santa Monica's famous landmark, the 123 year-old Moreton Bay Fig tree, placing strong emphasis on sustainability and indigenous ingredients. FIG features a frequently changing seasonal menu, Cheese and Charcuterie Bar, approachable wines by the glass, and a signature cocktail program.
"We came to the Fig and enjoyed Mother's Day! No expensive, pre-set menu, just the normal excellent breakfast burritos and chilaquiles were enjoyed by all! We even had the Chef, Ray Garcia, visit our table and bestow Morher's Day wishes. A wonderful and excellent choice!"

"It was my wife's birthday in the spring. A great time for a trip to a famous Santa Monica hotel with a modern "in" restaurant. Expensive, but very pleasant. Interesting and unusual beet salad, fine ocean trout (akin to salmon), pretty good wild mushroom risotto, excellent wine, excellent and unusual dessert. Service was excellent and adapted nicely to our request for a different table because of the sun's angle."

"We were really looking forward to going to this restaurant as we had heard good things about it. We had the Queso Fundido- okay. The Chicken Liver Parfait was very tasty and for our entrées we had Pastaless Lasagna, Meatloaf and Short Rib. All very adequate but I think the service made everything a bit blah. We had to wait for ages before anyone came to serve us & then our waiter was hardly ever around. We poured our own wine several times. The waiter only came to see us at the end (tip time!). It’s not that I wouldn’t go there again; it’s more that there are so many other places that are better. FYI - The entrance to the hotel & Restaurant is just off Wilshire Blvd, heading West towards Ocean and valet parking is complimentary for 2 hours."

"too bad! FIG has slipped from fresh innovative , always delish to weird, uneven, not always well-prepared. we used to go often for special meals. seafood, poultry, vegetable, salad dishes all mediocre this time.
also... outlandishly loud not very good music in spite of already too loud room. waiter great. pro waiters who know food. too bad the restaurant seems to be eroding around them. however there is unintentional humor: "the chef would like to begin your meal with a complementary taste" delivered by a mgr in a suit .., turned out to be a tablespoon of roasted cauliflower crumbles in a 1/2 teaspoon of bland sauce in the middle of the app plate ...ONE FOR ALL FOUR PEOPLE.
HaHaHa ! a good laugh to start an otherwise disappointing meal."

"The food was innovative and quite good but the noise level made it necessary for us to shout to be heard. We would not go back because of the noise. we are all seniors."

"OSCAR is my absolute favorite waiter - all their wait staff should be trained by Oscar. Food is superb, atmosphere the best. Dining at Fig is a dining experience not to be missed. The acoustics are even spectacular. There was a huge party seated next to us, but we were able to converse without being disturbed. And, there was a private room on the other side of us, separated by only a curtain, and they were whooping it up, but they weren't a problem, either. Where else can you dine where you can have a private conversation and hear yourselves speak without having to say, "Huh, What?" constantly, because of the noise - and we had two huge parties on either side of us, and could hear just fine. THANK YOU AGAIN, FIG!"

"Went for dinner after drinks at The Bungalows - another neat gem if you go on a week night. I was most impressed by their starters and small plates. Specifically their bacon wrapped bacon and the duck rillete. Also ordered the pork chops which were cooked to perfection."

"We ordered the "Feed Me" tasting menu for $95 per person. This option allows the chef to choose your menu (you can specify dislikes, allergies, etc), so you don't know what you will be eating until it arrives at your table! There were 4-courses with a few 'little extras' thrown in. Overall I would say it was a pleasant dining experience. The presentation was good, we were not rushed and the food was tasty. But, if you are looking for a quiet, romantic spot, this is not it. We went on a Friday night at 8:30pm and fortunately we were in a corner, so that helped, but this is a noisy dining locale. I wouldn't rush back with so many other amazing restaurants to try in the LA area."

"This place was just TOO over priced! Portions were SO small and flavor was average! Nothing fantastic except the decor and ambiance.. I would not recommend it to anyone! Just a shear waste of money and meal! The menu is also very small and minimal.. Ordered two drinks and two appetizers and the bill was over $60!!"

"We all were very pleased with our dinner orders--scallops were great--my cousin loved his meatloaf--and the wine was terrific. Atmosphere is so-so, prices slightly higher than warranted. This was extremely convenient because we had relatives staying at the hotel. The restaurant was crowded and popular. Parking could add another $15-$20 to your dinner or park in a Santa Monica lot and walk over."

"Typically a favorite brunch destination and the happy hour is great too. The last 3 brunches, the service was lacking like there was not enough staff for the room. Once the waiter does come to the table he was very professional, but visits were infrequent. The tofu scramble lacked any visible tofu and more needed to be requested. Eggs benedict was delicious. The fresh juices and hot strong coffee are great. Always expecting better overall than what actually happens there. still, will return because I do love it."

"Delectable. Highly recommend. The food is pristine, uncomplicated and flawless. I was blown away by everything we had, from the beet salad to the tongue to the fish over root veg. All perfectly arranged and cooked. The place is popular so the noise is quite high. Lighting is moody. Depending on where you sit, you might be squinting at your menus. Service: awesome.
I would order anything they had here. It's that good."

"I have eaten here many times and the food is always fresh, seasonal and delicious. Breakfast I ordered the lemon ricotta pancakes- YUM! And dinner I opted for a quinoa salad starter, tomato soup and meatloaf. All were delicious. My 2 year old got her own plastic, colorful utensils and it was one of the first times I ordered off the kids menu because they had great options. Her Burger was done medium rare with a side of brussels sprouts. We all enjoyed."

"I have been to FIG a number of times for lunch and dinner. The service has always been good, not great. Food is always good. Saturday night, we had the worst service. Yes it's Saturday night but that is no excuse for a restaurant of that caliber. I will not take my friends there again--I was embarrassed."

"Disappointed with the bar area while waiting for our table. There should have been a dedicated bartender so they could be more attentive to customers and make sure the wait time was not very long. The food was disappointing and warm but not hot as you would expect most places. Our waiter was very pleasant however only came by our table when the food arrived and checked once and never in between to advise when the food would be arriving. It took almost an hour for our food to be served. My dish was supposed to have macaroni pasta like under my meat dish and barely had anything there. I was still hungry and the dessert wasn't that great either. All in all A+ for ambiance, everything else only OK."

"I ordered the cobb salad and the salad was missing the avocado and the bacon! I asked the waiter that I was missing these ingredients from my salad, and he brought me the dishes on the side, and it was so unappetizing that I couldn't even eat it. What happened to this place??"

"We went for Valentine Lunch. Not what I expected. It was not romantic. Sunny day but no patio heaters on so sat inside with all the business men chatting loudly. Food was very good and reasonably priced. Improvements: have heaters ready to go get decent uniforms for waiters...they all look like they have "Home Depot" outfits on in jeans and aprons with some blue flannel shirt...construction workers in the restuarant....that was the riduclous part...Last on special occassions or holidays do something special...Like a special dessert or a special little menu....These are things anyone would expect...Last I was expecting a very exclusive mediterrean menu with a name like Fig."

"Delish, Delish, Delish! And gotta give props to our waiter. My wife ordered a specialty cocktail. The waiter said that it was "smokey" in flavor. It was! Very! And my wife did not like it at all. Asked the waiter for a glass of Prosecco instead. He did not charge us for the cocktail. And then we ordered more than we could eat. We had a snack...stuffed dates, A beet salad ( too many weeds ), Kampachi crudo ( very yummy sauces ), the short rib meatloaf which was great, as was the pork rib eye and finally desert, the Meyer lemon mousse ( again the yummy sauces! ). Thanks for a great meal!"

"Probably one of the best steaks I ever had. We had 7 people and had to tell some of the foodrunners where entrees were supposed to go. Meatballs were great, brussel sprouts were slightly under cooked, but still good 12 oz NY steak melted in my mouth- as it should for $50. All in all- decent service, chill atmostphere, good food, but at ~$100 per person, it's a little steep. You're paying for the location (right on Ocean and Wilshire) but it's not like there's a view. I've enjoyed meals that cost half as much or less twice as much."

"This was our first dinner and we enjoyed our dinner very much...the ingredients and presentation were excellent. The service was very attentive and quick. However, I would think twice about returning:the noise level was deafening... we were unable to hear each other across a small table for 2, set up along the windows facing the pool. Even the waitress needed to crouch down to hear our order. All the surfaces in your restaurant appear to be hard: tile floor, marble table tops, tall windows and high plaster ceilings. The addition of decor that could absorb and dampen noise would definitely make for a more pleasant experience."

"The French Onion soup was the best I've ever had. My steak? I had to send back. It looked black and charred but I figured it was probably just seared but really juicy on the inside. Wrong. After strenous attempts to saw through it, my first bite was really bad. Very tough. The sauce was good, but not enough to save it. I asked what cut of beef it was and didn't get a really strong answer. I suspect it was water buffalo. Or a reeeeaally old, tough cow. They graciously returned it, refilled my wine and took it off the bill, which I did appreciate, but by that time I had no appetite for anything else so we didn't stay long."

"We moved, and another couple moved as the back row of seats are just on top of each other and you cannot hear a one on one conversation. If you sit on the high bar top table you have to get off your chair and move is another person wants to get up as it is against the wall. Very poorly done on seating. There was a very very loud party of 12 and they did nothing to stop the cat calls and other over the top noises that these College kids were doing. The service was extremely slow. It was 20 minutes before she took our drink order and I had to flag her down myself. The food was exceptional."
