"Food is great-noise level was awful. too loud, could not talk across the table, the kitchen was behind, and took a long time to get the food, over an hour, Got seated at 6:25, got our wine and water right away, had to hunt down the waiter to order. Told him we were going across the street for an 8:00 show. At 7:30 still did not have our food, it came at 7:40. Gobbled the food, what we could, and the restaurant packaged the rest up for us. Had to cancel dessert, as no time left. Awful experience."

"The good - location, ambience and menu. The bad - arrogant service and missing the basics. My appetizer plate, complete with shrimp cocktail shell, sat on the table through our entire meal up to dessert. About every ten minutes we would inch it closer to the table edge in the hopes that one of the passing staff would pick it up. We were at a table for four but just the two of us by the window left plenty of table for it to be abundantly obvious - very strange for what otherwise should be a fine dining experience. The waiter acted like he was doing us a favor to occasionally - and I mean only very occasionally - check in on us. This is a really neat place for classic steakhouse ambience but regrettably the service didn't match the visual."

"My husband and I have three small children and not much time to get out and enjoy alone time. After much research, decided to try Bohanan's. I was in the mood for a good steak and a romantic evening out. Everything was perfect! The food was outstanding, the service was beyond my expectations and the overall experience was one to be remembered. Definitely plan on returning! Would highly recommend, and already have to friends and family! Just talking about it makes me hungry and want to return :)"

"Food is amazing. The Chateaubriand savory flavor was cause to just hold the piece of steak in your mouth. Surprisingly it was so tender that it seem to melt in your mouth as you held the piece to savor the flavor. The steamed fresh asparagus and carrots were perfectly prepared Al Dente. You are served a pentiful amount, which means you may not have room for some of the amazing desserts that are on the menu. The wine list was so extensive, but a skilled Wine Steward is on staff. Well, if you are rating a restaurant 5-star, you can only imagine how wonderful the service is.
This is pricy at $$$, but it is a once-a-year treat that makes you think you are in a fairy tale!"

"This place was great for my husbands birthday! We usually pass on steak restaurants since I don't like steak. Their menu has something on it for everyone. If your pettite like me or just don't eat a whole lot but want to try something new; I recomend the foie gras. It is searesd with and nicley placed atop of fluffy frech toast with a pear halve in honey glaze. The escargot was a great appetizer too. They were large and toppes with similar sizes pieces of brie."

"We were seated at a ridiculously small table, and requested a larger table. They would not allow us to move, even though there were several four tops open. The food was mediocre at best. My husband ordered his steak medium rare, and it came with a cold, red center. I ordered a dish that contained lobster. It had no flavor, and the consistency of rubber. Overall, not even close to the quality that you would expect from a fine dining restaurant."

"Waitstaff extremely attentive. Mo is exceptional! The caprese salad was the best we've ever had. Leisurely pace, never felt rushed. The candied jalapenos are amazing. We had the bone in ribeye which was very good, so slightly disappointed we could not say it was the best steak ever, but it was REALLY good. The less expensive wines we chose by the glass were still quite good. The flaky apple tart for dessert was excellent as was the tequila crema that our waiter suggested as an after dinner drink. Overall outstanding atmosphere and dining experience."

"We went for our anniversary and was looking forward to it with all the great reviews. Staff was very friendly but the noise was way to loud. Food was only at par level and I was expecting great food at the prices they charge. My husband had fresh cracked pepper on his salad and some of it landed on the table and it was never wiped up until the very end of our meal and it was only done then because the waiter saw my husband trying to remove it himself. They also have artificial flowers in the restaurant and ladies room that were very,very dusty. They need a good cleaning if you choose to use fake instead of real. I have already told people not to eat there. The bar had a better atmosphere, should have ate there."

"Having never experienced a Four Diamond Service Restaurant, I was extremely impressed from the first moment we walked in Bohanan's. My fiancée and I were treated to amazing service as soon as we sat down. The Sommelier helped us with our wine choice which made looking at the extensive wine list easier. Our Waiter, Chris, was truly there to make our night the best. If your looking for the very best food in San Antonio, Bohanan's is the place to go. "Took my wife here for our 22nd anniversary...our first foray into high-end dining after just relocating to San Antonio. WOW! What a place...the food, the service, the ambiance...I told them it was our anniversary on the Open Table reservation and we were told happy anniversary by just about every employee in the place! Rose petals spread on the table, 1st class service, generous portions of delicious food...I could go on and on! Bohanan's moves right to the top of the list!"

"Everything was wonderful upstairs except the eggplant was too salty to eat. Downstairs in the bar while we were waiting for our reservation it was not crowded but bartender sent over a Titos and soda when a Titos and tonic was ordered. And then a second round was brought when we had not ordered a second round. It was not crowded, but bartender seemed to be struggling for some reason. Service at dinner was excellent. Steaks were cooked perfectly and wonderfully tender."

"We had a wonderful experience at Bohanan's a couple of years ago and wanted to return to introduce some friends and make sure it was as good as remembered. Yes! The food was incredible, our server delightful and we had another memorable evening. We travel a lot and have to note this is one of the top steak restaurants in the country (and we're keeping track). We'll be back again on the next San Antonio trip!"

"While the steaks were fantastic, the service was not. We were rushed throughout by the waiter. They asked to remove my plate three times while I was still eating, with my fork in hand. He gave us the bill without checking if we wanted coffee to complete our meal.. We were not being slow as the people at the tables around us were all there before us. Maybe we weren't drinking enough alcohol in comparison to out neighbors?"

"This was our secont time at Bohanan's. While the food was sensational, the service was not. Our server completely neglected and ignored us and even showed an attitude the few times he came to our table. I guess we were not lucky because we could tell that all other servers were on top of things and giving their tables equal amount of their time and attention; however "luck" should not play a role at such a prestigious establishment."

"Took husband there for his birthday. Food was delicious. Wait staff was very professional and friendly. Be prepared to spend some cash though. But we had the Japanese tenderloin and all the trimmings so we were not shocked when we got our tab. Everyone should go for the experience at least once. No comps here (valet, dessert, etc) but it was totally worth it."

"A bit disappointing start, arrived early, maitre D arrived said have a drink, I'll be back to escort you. Ordered drinks, thoughts in any UK RESTAURANT they would add to bill, NO had to settle up before going to try to find maitre D to start again. Meal was great, water waiter was great,
Head waiter a bit false but OK, HOWEVER as we got to the end it changed. Looked like a couple of guys on next table were a bit upset with head waiter. The maitre D tried to calm things down. However we seemed to get the head waiters ire, bill dumped in front of my wife, no mention of was it OK, ETC, I asked for a pen and it was flung on the table again with no comment. It went from a great evening to what happened!!! SHOCKING TREATMENT"

"Well this was our first time that we have come to Bohanans I can tell you this I was very excited to go to dinner. We always go to Flemings at the Quarry. Loved the jazz music as I love jazz and loved the way it looked in the restaurant.
In our other restaurant our table gets cleaned from crumbs and any other items that are on the table. We had several crumbs and were not cleaned. My steak was not cooked medium well it had blood coming out and the tops of the steaks all three of them were black burned. I really don't understand how this could happen at this place. For what we paid for dinner that was the worst we could have had. Will I go again to have drinks and listen to jazz yes but not to dinner. I did take my steak back."
