"Was looking for a fun place to take one of my best friend's since high school on her birthday and this was perfect for a girls' night. We dressed up and ate like queens! We're convinced that every meal should start with calamari and end with warm chocolate lava cake. Love the comfortable, easy-going ambiance. We stayed for more than two hours catching up and enjoying a night out without the kids. Parking was easy. Definately a neighborhood gem!"

"Beautiful modern surroundings, well lit and not noisy! Beautiful outdoors in the summer; with heat lamps in the winter. Great pastas and pizzas, but with a much more interesting menu that a group with varied tastes could enjoy. Lively bar crowd from 5-7PM with lots of tasty appetizer dishes. A well-managed and well-maintained neighborhood gem off busy Olympic Blvd just west of the 405! Great location with street and valet park."

"This restaurant takes itself more seriously than it deserves. The food was nicely presented, but nothing tasted truly outstanding. I had lamb-chops, the most expensive main course ($30) and was surprised to get 2 and a half fairly small chops. That's right, the third chop was sort of rump. They were covered in gravy, which hid the meat from view, detracting from the presentation. When I cut into the meat, I found it gray--sort of medium. I had asked for rare. I tasted some of the fish that others had, and it was OK, nothing special.
There were 7 in our party and, after tax and tip, it came to $80 a person, which I thought was high for what we got. It was not a bad meal, by any means, but at that price I expect something better."

"Typically I love this restaurant. I ordered a chicken breast dish that was grilled. I took my first bite and almost chocked on the amount of salt. Since we had invited some friends to go with us, I decided not to say anything and took another bite. There was no way that I could eat anymore. I called the waiter over and explained that I am salt sensitive and I ordered a starter scallop salad. When that was delivered, the scallops were so soaked in butter... Maybe it was an off night. I will give it another try as I have loved this restaurant in the past."

"My favorite menu item at Il Moro is the Pumpkin Tortellini. On our most recent visit I had the Fettuccine with Venison Ragu. My friend had the Salmon over a bed of lettuce. Both dishes, although beautifully prepared and presented, lacket seasoning. It was quite apparent that the pasta was not cooked in well salted water. I don't mind adding a touch of salt to my dish, however, having to add so much table salt was unexpected. Being as I felt my meal would have been more appealing to me)I asked for a side of tomato sauce. However, that was definitely the wrong acid and seemed to have a tinny taste. I believe lemon may have been a better choice. I could not rate the service higher as they ignored us after an hour."

"I was surprised by how mediocre the food was. The pizza crust was like a thin tasteless cracker and the toppings not very tasty. The bread was even bland and tasteless, maybe even stale. Meat was fatty and the accompanying vegetables were bland too and the sauce from the meat ran into the vegetables and didn't go together at all. Overall a very disappointing meal."

"The food is generally very good except the pizzas. They are horrible. The ravioli with goat cheese and asparagus was beautifully presented but too salty. "We have eaten at Il Moro on several occasions. The waiters are very helpful, and last night suggested that we try a special pasta instead of one they regularly have on their menu. It was delicious.
There was a private party going on, which was enjoyable to witness. We loved hearing Sajar and having some of the birthday cake. Il Moro is a true Los Angeles gem."
