Open since 1989, Cafe Eccell is an integral part of College Station's landscape. Cafe Eccell bills itself as a "fresh seafood bistro". The various seafood entrees reflect multi-regional and fusion cuisines. The seafood is shipped in fresh four times weekly to ensure quality and freshness. "I bought several out-of-town business guests to Cafe Eccell and was somewhat embarrased. Cafe Eccell is usually much better - on this visit both the server and kitchen staff were clearly overmatched, I'm assuming, by the number of diners. The aps came out very slowly and the entered came out lukewarm. The menu and wine selections have been reworked, somewhat to the detriment of the diners. The fish is still very good - I had the baramundi done Mediterranean style; however the server failed to make the substitutions requested. Those in our party that ordered steaks were disappointed. The steaks were embarassingly thin and uniformly overcooked. I haven't given up on Cafe Eccell yet, but another performace or two like this and I will."

"My boyfriend and I had the most amazing time at Cafe Eccell for our Valentine's dinner. Our server, Robert, was GREAT, the food was perfect, and the whole atmosphere was just amazing. Best dinner of my life, seriously! :-)"

"I came in with a party of only six and when we got the bill I just paid it and left a tip. Unknown to me, the waiter had put on a gratuity without telling me. SO, IN ADDITION to the $75 that I left him for a tip, he also had an auto gratuity on there that he did not tell me about but I noticed the next day for another $50. Needless to say, I usually think of myself as pretty good tipper, but in this case I just feel like I got ripped off $50. So, in all, our waiter got a $125 tip, and although I am a good tipper even without getting ripped off, I can honestly say that this guy was a crummy waiter. I am new to this area and eat out a lot, but needless to say, I am never visiting Cafe Eccel ever again. Thanks for ripping me off!"

"Cafe Eccell is a great little gem in College Station. Although this town has a good number of restaurants, few are as classy and reserved as Cafe Eccell. The food is fantastic. Order anything on the menu and you won't be disappointed. Just don't leave without the Strawberry Tart!"

"I was with a group of five ladies. We arrived at noon. We ordered pretty promptly, but it took OVER AN HOUR to be served our food. We did not get out of the restaurant until after 2:00pm. It was ridiculous. I also did not think the food was worth the price. The dessert was way overrated as well. I will not be going back there for a long time! It was also FREEZING in the restaurant that day. We all had to sit with our coats on the whole time. And then some workers come in and start working on something (perhaps the heating?) right by our table. I was taking my employees for their Christmas lunch and so I was very disappointed in the whole experience."
