Grille 29 is Huntsville hottest new concept in upscale-casual dining. Located in the heart of Providence Grille 29 offers diners a wide variety of dinner choices in a classy comfortable atmosphere. The specialties of the house are in the "From the Grille" menu section with tender cuts like our 8 oz. Filet Mignon and 12 oz. New York Strip Steak. "Went my with hubby, daughters and friend ( age range 18-22) Enjoyed the food, Max was a great server and menu was varied without looking like it was trying too hard. I had chicken with sundried tomatoes, artichokes and pasta which tasted wonderful altho the chicken was a little tough. My girls had shrimp and grits, tilapia stuffed w/ crab and the tilapia special and seemed to enjoy it!
Hubby had salmon and thought it was good. All in all a nice Father's Day dinner with the family!"

"I have been to Grill2 29 two years in a row for my wife's birthday. We go because we know the food will be excellent as will the service. The food is excellent and the service is pretty good. I will say that Grille 29 is a place that we would go only once or twice a year because of its pricing. Not to say that the food is not worth it, but one must be selective during those special occasions.
The portions are quite large, and it is wonderful how they offer sides with entrees while other high-end restaurants charge for sides a la carte. The cheese grits are amazing."

"I love Grill 29, but I have to ask, why, when you have an early reservation, and the whole place is just about empty, do they seat a party of five right by the kitchen. Our reservation was for a birthday and a nicer location for the table would've been good. The food was good and the server was very good. I would not recommend the hummus appetizer."

"We are only in Hunstville for a week and this was our first stop based on it's Open Table score. So Happy we came. My husband the Rockfish. It looked awesome when brought to the table! A nice sized fish fried crispy with head and tail all curled up on the plate! The sauce was spectacular! If you like fish we think you will love that dish! I had the Filet - Soooo Tasty! We had the triple Creme Brûlée for desert. The Vanilla and Caramel were the Stars of the desert for sure! The chocolate was a little rich for my taste buds but still pretty nice. Drinks were reasonably priced and strong! The service was EXCELLENT. A GEM for sure! We will definitely be back before the weeks out!"

"I have eaten at Grille 29 a handful of times thus far since relocating to the area. I really love the unique tastes on the menu--they add special twists to classic choices for something really great. The atmosphere is romantic and elegant and both the indoor and outdoor seating options are comfortable and cosy. The only thing I would change is that the service can be a bit slow and the wait staff are a bit too "pushy/gushing salesman"-esque at times. It's really not a big deal though; I can't wait to go back :)"

"Went for mothers day and it was one of the worst meals I have ever had there. To top off the bad meal, we had to wait an hour to get it. I finally had to find the manager to get our meal. We all ordered steaks with varying degrees of done ness and only one was cooked correctly. Unfortunately, that's not the first time we have had a subpar meal there, so this is the last time we will eat there."

"The only thing that bothered us was the time that we had to wait to get my wife's salad. It was supposed to come out with our appetizer, but it ended up taking longer. I know that our waiter, who was a very nice gentleman, was a little busy but it would have been nice to receive a few more updates on what was going on rather than us just sitting there wondering what was going on."

"This is one of my favorite local restaurants. I love the lobster bisque, but wanted to get out of my box so I ordered the fish tacos. OMG. BEST fish tacos I've ever tasted! Blackened mahi mahi with some sort of mango salsa I think? Absolutely delicious! I also had the sliced fried portobello mushrooms as a side & they were yummy too!

"Went for our anniversary dinner. Waitress Laurel K was fabulous. Food had to be re-cooked because someone was in a rush, but the second time around it was great. If you like the fillet, don't get the Fillet29 with the cheese on it, totally overtakes the flavor. Just go with a fillet with bacon wrapped. It's good enough by itself. Our desert was fabulous as well and the staff added Happy Anniversary in chocolate, which was pretty cool. They helped make it a special day. Thanks!!!"

"Best restaurant dining I've had lately. I've been somewhat disappointed with other "fine dining" in the area since Pauli's closed, but Grille 29 filled the bill! "Bad experience for the most part. Entrees arrived about an hour after they were ordered with no visit from waiter to update/apologize. I could understand if restaurant was full on a Saturday night but it wasn't. Also, I'm pretty sure they had a gratuity included policy for 8 or more. We had 7 adults and a 6 month old seated in her stroller. Of course she wasn't served. They added gratuity to the bill. Silly. The food is good but with a little added competition in the area this place will struggle to make it."

"Grille 29 is, by far, the best restaurant we've ever been to. We had went for our anniversary, and when our waiter brought out desert, they had written happy anniversary in chocolate on our plates and had placed a lit birthday candle on each. Our waiter was wonderful and kept our drinks full and the table cleared. I would definitely go back!!!"

"They had a really good offering -- Seared Halibut -- but it is offered only on the evening selections. When I asked about it at our lunch on sunday, our server said I believe I can get that for you. -- and he did for me and my wife. Excellent service, great food and willing to go the extra step. My favorite place in Huntsville AL to dine at anytime."

"It was a special evening for us. My boyfriend proposed to me...however, the table they sat us at was by the kitchen entrance and we watched waiters and waitresses walk back and forth, management coming in and out of the back and the wait staff check tickets in...for the romantic part of the evening pre-proposal it was very busy and hectic. Once my ring was shown I could not tell you what all was going on.
overall, it is a very nice restaurant...you just might want to think of figuring out a way to calm some of the chaos of seeing the "behind the scenes" stuff."
