"Serious fun, damn good food." Named after the potent New Orleans cocktail, Sazerac is by far one of downtown Seattle's hippest spots. The food is fresh with deep resonant flavors, roasted and wood-fired, earthy and sensual.
"This southern-style spot is destined to be a Seattle classic." -Seattle Times
"We tried the sampling menu and everything on it was inventive and great. I especially liked the roasted beet salad with goat cheese and pistachios. I'd definitely rate it as one of the top dozen "foodie" restaurants in Seattle. (And I'm not scoring it higher than "top dozen" because we have so many great restaurants.)
We were in a rush to make a performance at Benaroya Hall, and the wait staff was very accommodating in getting us out on time."

"It was a great place for eight of us to get together for lunch for my mother-in-law's 88th birthday. We had a great table near the front window (sort of our own space) and our server, Julio or Julian, was wonderful and the food was delicious, as always. My mother-in-law raved about the whole experience. We will definitely go back. Thank you. Francesca"

"Sazerac is our favorite restaurant in downtown Seattle. It's a very short walk from Benaroya Hall and the 5th Avenue Theatre. It's perfect for a light pre-concert meal because of the large variety of tapas/snacks, salads, pizzas to share, small cheese and charcuterie dishes, and the option to choose between small and big plates for most of the entrees. It's also a great place for after the theatre. The decor is sophisticated and elegant, the food is excellent with imaginative flavor combinations beautifully presented, and the service is impeccable. The servers are friendly, knowledgeable, efficient, and attentive. Just a great place for dinner downtown!"

"My party and I arrived before the full lunch rush, but when the place was full, it was very loud. I requested a "quiet" area when I booked on OpenTable however the hostess made no mention of that, nor did she seat us in a quieter area of the restaurant."

"First, it is so nice to be able to book a reservation through open table when visiting a busy city. I am glad that Sazerac participates in this service. We are new to Seattle and like to try different styles of dining. The menu, including the drink menu, was already quite interesting. However, we almost missed the best part! Turn the menu over and there was a prix fixe menu with lovely choices as well as perfect wine parings from Washington State. The dishes came out with perfect timing as the wait staff were quite knowledgeable. The food was delicious and we finished feeling quite full. Restaurant was a bit noisy. Not crowded on a Saturday night. Very enjoyable experience."

"I had been to Sazerac for dinner previously and enjoyed it, so suggested it for lunch with a group including 2 children, and the staff was very accommodating and the food excellent -- both for the kids & the adults."

"Sazerac is a great place to go for a menu that can please a variety of different tastes and appetites. The food is reasonably priced, the environment is soothing and energetic at the same time. It looks like they have a great bar too - didn't partake. Great for business luncheons, dinner or for friends and family alike."

"Unfortunately my open table reservation was not honored. When I arrived I was told that they were very busy and only had seating in their bar. The reservation was for a business lunch and I will not return."

"Good business lunch, friendly professional service. 4 of us were seated at a comfortable table in the back with a view of the open kitchen. Two of us had the Rotisserie chicken salad and it did not disappoint. Others had pulled pork and the salmon sandwich which they said were delicious, although a bit on the messy side, not a bad thing. We'll be back."

"We tried Sazerac for the first time for Easter brunch buffet. The service was outstanding and we had a party of 9. Our reservation was at 1pm on Sunday and there weren't many others dining at this restaurant. Not sure if it was busier earlier or not. The buffet was good and a nice selection including cedar plank grilled salmon, roasted game hen, roasted pork, chilaquiles (yum), creole eggs benedict, bacon and andouille sausage. I will preface this review saying we are foodies and although of these things were definitely good and filling, I wouldn't say great for the cost of fifty/pp. The dessert bar was very good! Although the service was outstanding, unfortunately, we probably won't be going back."

"We took a work group of 11, pre-ordered (giving the name that tied to each order), and the staff were ready with beverages and appetizers almost as we walked in, smoothly transitioned to the entrees, then desserts. All very efficient, not rushed. Delicious food and a very workable lunch outing for a group on a tight schedule. (Do plan for a little bit over an hour if you want to do the appetizer, entree, dessert combination. The staff can manage it in an hour, but you want to take time to enjoy the delicious food!)"

"The staff was nice, but what's the point of a reservation if we're going to be seated by the door - a booth that gets crashed into by almost every person walking in?"

"My husband and I went here on a date-night to try some new-to-us dishes and cocktails with a twist. The pictures online seemed to reflect an atmosphere correlate to that and the food & cocktail menus seemed enticing as well. We give kudos on our food (the date appetizer and roasted almonds were yummy, scallops with chorizo were delish), cocktails (Sazerac's namesake is perfected here), our server was genuine & knowledgeable, and dessert was divine. We loved everything about this place with one exception: the lighting. Aside from the booths along one wall, the whole restaurant is lit almost like closing time in a nightclub. Not exactly the intimate ambiance we had envisioned. We will be back in the future, but probably in a group of friends."

"Overall, really great experience. The food was outstanding. It was fresh and imaginative. There are options for sharing plates, which was great. The truffles are amazing.
Our food came out quickly. The wine flights we ordered were lovely.
My only complaint was that it took quite a while for our waitress to come to our table after we were seated (at least 15 minutes). Once she came to our table, she gave us a very detailed explanation of the food. Had she come right after we were seated, that would have been really great; however we had already decided what we wanted to eat."

"Meh. My reservations were for 5pm, right when they open and wanted the Cast Iron Corn Bread for an appetizer but they did not have any ready so we could not have the corn bread. I had the steak and asked for it to be medium and my steak was more medium rare. The Housemade Green Siracha on the steak over powered the steak. The Garlicky Potato Gratin that came with the steak was not very garlicky, I had a hard time telling if there was any garlic in them. My wife had the Cider-Chile Glazed "St. Louis Style" Pork Ribs. They were much better than the steak. The Cheddar Baked Anson Mills Grits were much better than the Garlicky Potato Gratin. For me the savoir was the Oooey Gooey Chocolate cake for dessert."

"The ambiance of Sazerac was great for a date night out. I enjoyed the feel of the restaurant. The price was a bit out of our comfort zone, but the overall experience was good. The service was great, our waiter was friendly. The food was delicious. I had the pan seared scallops, which was accompanied by clams and chorizo. My wife had the grind burger. I would order either dish again."

"We ventured into Sazarac with a party of nine. The service was prompt and courteous, the atmosphere was a buzz. We did not venture past the small plates, they were the perfect stage for our large group with diverse appetites. Tasty bits to entice conversation and cocktails."

"Service was slow. Our waiter disappeared near the end of lunch and it took over 20 minutes to get our bill. We were charged sales tax on our meal and on the 18% gratuity charge due to our 8 person group. An inquiry phone call to Sazeracs about why the 11.2% sales tax charge rather than 9.5%, ended with "computer computes it automatically". Another call to the manager ended up with a credit for the overcharge, but we wonder how many people have been stung by this overcharge. Somebody had to program that computer. So if you're in a large group, go somewhere else."

"I was very impressed by the food at Sazerac. Quality ingredients, and everything was very tasty. I LOVED the skillet corn bread with salted molasses butter -- and I don't normally like butter!
The heirloom green salad was also really tasty and fresh.
The pizza I ordered was also really tasty, and I liked the thin crust.
Overall, I had an excellent meal!!!"

"Such a drastic improvement from the previous visit. The service was excellent from beginning to end. We ironically had the same server and he was very attentive and got everything right. The food took a reasonable amount of time and was absolutely delicious. The wood fire pizza really hit the spot!"

"We spend our bdays here every year and were disappointed To find the menu had changed and our favorites were gone. Need more than one steak dish too. Ribs were overly sweet and mush. Not the magic I remember. There was a time once Where the grits were so good that my husband got teary eyed. No more...."

"We had a wonderful time! This was a birthday dinner and the staff did a great job of making it feel special, bringing a couple of treats to our table and being very attentive.
The stuffed figs were FANTASTIC! So were the pork cheeks. We all had a great time. And it was very kind of the chef to come and chat with us for a few minutes, we really enjoyed that.
We'll definitely return."
