Especially when you add in a charming setting where it's actually possible to have a conversation while enjoying good service, and, upon request, a view of the Plaza."

"We enjoyed the "Two on Tuesdays" special and found it to be a great value. Each of us chose an entree and salad and shared a dessert with this special. It also included a bottle of wine, so it was a perfect meal!
Food was delicious and our server was very attentive. We enjoyed breakfast in this restaurant the next morning and again enjoyed our meals and received the same friendly service."

"We had reserved a table for mothers day, but when we arrived there was no specific table for our afternoon. When I first made plans to have lunch at the Chaz restaurant. I told them that it was our Anniversary and also a Mothers day celebration. I expected more when we arrived for our special afternoon. A year before we spent our Anniversary at Capital Grille on the Plaza and they had a table reserved with our name on it and rose petals with a complimentary desert. So this year we wanted to try a different restaurant but we were not pleased. The food was not hot and the presentation was not pleasing to the eye."

"I had the crab cake here which was good, but wasn't as good as my previous time I had it. It was slightly black on the outside but still good. We ordered the morel mushrooms which was special that night. I was sadly disappointed because they weren't meaty at all. It was like little bits of mushrooms. But the risotto was great. Cooked perfectly. Drinks are always nice here. Ambiance was good except our window seat was crammed between a booth and another 4-person table. Wasn't as spacey as I would've expected from this restaurant. Service is excellent but not a place I would frequent based on the price point."

"We had "over-easy" eggs & they were actually cooked as ordered - most restaurants over cook them - so this is a big plus. I know the potatoes with the parmesean cheese is a specialty, but for breakfast I prefer the old fashioned fried postoes so I can dip the potato in the yellow part of the egg - so I don't think the potatoes served with over-easy eggs complimented the eggs...maybe that's just me.

"While one dish was exceptional (shrimp and grits) the salads seemed to be lacking any dressing and were tiny for the price. The waiter brought vinaigrette on the side but made no other attempt to rectify the situation. Poor beer list. The three of us were place In an alcove that would fit 6; despite terrible acoustics that forced us to yell at each other and left one of our party stranded far across the table, We were told we could not be moved"

"Chaz is my favorite place for breakfast meetings. The restaurant is large enough to accomodate a group while at the same time having privacy to discuss business. The decor is a bit dated, but warm and inviting. The wait staff it attentive and respectful of our requests. But best of all, the breakfast menu is full of delicious selections - and very varied. My favorite is the smoked salmon eggs benedict. So good!"

Salad with blackened pecans and berries was inventive and unusual, but had so many competing tastes it left my mouth confused enough that I'd avoid it again.

"Some may rate Chaz as a 5 Star restaurant, but the service alone is worth 6! The food is always perfectly portioned, and made exquisitely. They have some of the familiar basic items, but also offer some new treats. The staff goes above and beyond - extremely polite, helpful, and always seems to be there right when you need them. They also had a small band and singer performing, which was the best mix of providing background music, without drowning out our conversations. On top of the wonders happening inside, we had a view of the Plaza and the happenings outside. All and all, a great place to relax and enjoy a wonderful evening."

Romantic enough, Plaza view, and appropriate mood music. Top notch service! A former waiter in area high end restaurants, the service met and exceeded my expectations. The food had me wondering why I had never been here before, I can't say enough about the crab cakes or the prep of their steaks. Drinks and wine recommendations were perfect, as was the timing and skill of the presentation.

"I was excited to dine here and disappointed with the outcome.The decor includes outdated 1970s leftover lights and smoked mirrors. This experience was a 20 year flashback and not in a good way. The lounge music choices were good but were played on an organ. The food was tasty but the portions were very small. I had crab bisque and seared scallops. I got exactly one cup of soup, one roll, and 3 scallops. There were no sides such as a simple vegetable. The prices were on the high end and I left hungry. The hostesses and bus person were very accommodating but our server was stiff, rehearsed, and absent for long periods of time.My husband and I wished we would have chosen a different restaurant for our special occasion. Next time we will."

"The food was good and the waiter attentive; however, I feel that we were scammed when the waiter offered us orange juice. My friend and I took only a half of a glass and her husband took a full glass. When I got home I was thinking about the bill. It was $129 before the tax and I thought it should have been $117. I called the restaurant and talked to the manager who asked if we had anything to drink. I said "just orange juice and coffee". He said "the orange juice is $4 or $5 a glass so that's the discrepancy." DISCREPANCY?? He should have said "a 10 percent scam". I'm angry and will never dine there again and I'm telling all my friends about the OJ scam. It's awful and they should be ashamed!"

"We went for Easter Brunch - as didn't want the traditional brunch fare - but did want delicious food, and that is what we got. I know of no other restaurant that has such consistently excellent food; and the staff, from the hostesses, to our waitress, to the Chef could not have been nicer. "Every visit to Chaz is a delight! The menu choices are outstanding and always something for everyone. The chef has creative ideas and they translate well into interesting and great tasting dishes. We are always well taken care of by the staff. Wait staff who have assisted us in the past will stop by our table to greet us making us feel extra special. Most places the meat is those dreaded already made-up patties & then almost always overcooked. So I will spread the word - if you want a great hamburger - cooked the way YOU like it - go to Chaz.

"Lunch at Chaz gives the diner a pleasant mixture of tradition and modern vibrancy. The Raphael Hotel is in a row of Grande Dames facing Brush Creek and overlooking the Country Club Plaza, so there is a sense of history and elegance. The menu offers creative and imaginative interpretations of many traditional sandwiches and entrees on the lunch menu. My personal favorite is the Crab Cake Sandwich. It is very tasty served on a nice pillowy egg bun topped with spicy greens, marinated tomato and finished with a really good Chili Remoulade that was the perfect finishing touch. Our Server made us feel welcome and special. Service was unobtrusive but still personable and friendly. "Chaz on the Plaz" is destined to be a new favorite."
