"You can't beat parking at the Kaufmann Center Garage, walking to dinner at Webster's and then, strolling back to Kaufmann for the Symphony....We've been to Webster's three times now, since the Kaufmann Center opened....It's a great spot for this, and the food and service is very good....It would be nice if the menu changed more...It hasn't changed much since we started going there...Great restaurants avoid being in a rut. Unfortunately KC doesn't have many, if any of these type of restaurants."

"Webster House is a perfect spot to dine before performances at the Kauffman Center. The building itself is lovely and the restaurant setting on the second floor is warm and inviting. On our most recent Sunday brunch visit, the quiche had a tough crust, not their normal standard, but other items were well prepared."

"The four of us have dined at the Webster House on several occasions and the food had always been extremely well prepared and presented nicely. This dinner did not live up to previous standards as we felt the food was not particularly exceptional, portions were skimpy and the service was slow. When it was noted by our waitress that we did not have a pending theater engagement it was as if we were dropped from importance and we had to wait an extremely long time to order drinks, take our food order. Overall, if this is now going to be the norm for the Webster House, I doubt we will rush back anytime soon."

"The Webster House is convenient when attending the symphony or opera. We used our parking pass at the Kauffman, but WH also offers parking, and I've been told that you can leave your car in their lot after dinner to attend the symphony.
Overall I liked the historic building, though I didn't care for the color scheme of the Rose Room where we ate. (I think that the other dining rooms are more tastefully decorated.) Our table was too small - there was no room for a single plate of appetizers.
The hostesses provided a warm welcome. The service we received from our waiter was just OK.
My lamb tasted good, but had some gristle. The accompaniment (couscous based) was mushy and not very tasty.
I'd give it a second chance."

"We have been wanting to try this place and so booked a table. The have a good selection of things on the menu but unfortunately we didn't find the food to be as flavourful as other places we have dined at. Also, it was too dark in the restaurant to the point where it was not really romantic just dark that I couldn't see the food properly!

"We ate here to celebrate our anniversary. All staff with whom we came in contact knew about the anniversary and were very kind and welcoming. We had a great dinner. Salads were great. I had steak and my husband had pasta with shrimp. Everything on the plates was delicious. The desserts were also delicious. If the lavendar panna cotta is on the menu, get it. Seriously. There was an event at a nearby arts venue, so the restaurant was a little crowded when we came and could have been noisy, but as we arrived the crowd was leaving and we had a quiet, enjoyable time. Something to keep in mind if you are looking for a quiet dinner. We enjoyed our dinner very much. Our "noise level" was quiet, but i bet it was "energetic" before the crowd thinned"

"This was my second time to dine here...first time was for brunch in the bar area, and the second for dinner in the Rose room. I had an excellent experience on both occasions and can't wait to go back! The mussels appetizer was the best ever!!!"

"One must make a point to enjoy a meal at The Webster House. Add some time to your schedule to meander throughout the many rooms brimming with spectacular merchandise both old and new. Perfect place for a date night or to take out of town friends to showcase this place and the urban renewal that abounds. "Located in an old school building, the historic atmosphere can't be beat. The new Kauffman Performing Arts Center is right next door with its modern funky architecture. The juxtaposition of the two, very old and very modern, is something to see. The food is excellent and service was outstanding. We came for Sunday brunch and couldn't have been more impressed with our meal."

"One of my favorite restaurants, but the food was way over herbed. Too much sage and/or oregano in the chicken and vegetable dish, the focaccia bread for the panini had way too much rosemary, and the roasted tomato soup was off. Haven't been there for a few months and am not a fan of the new menu. Someone has ruined the green tomato appetizer. A friend who has also been a big fan said she and her husband felt the same way the last time they went."

"The setting is so interesting.....in an old school house, really! The view is great if one is standing up, difficult to see much from a seated position. I like all the different charming classrooms and appreciate the restoration work that was done to bring the building back to this level. The acoustics are very poor and the noise level gets annoying when the place is crowded. One big perk is the freedom to leave our car in the parking lot while attending a performance at Kaufman, and the shopping on the lower level is a nice bonus. The salmon for dinner was outstanding and the French toast that I had during a brunch at was excellent. Waitress Carey is a peach of a kid, and we are filling out adoption papers on her."

"Food was very good, service attentive but not overbearing. Noise level at restaurant was perfect for lunch meeting of 4 people. Could talk about things and hear each other, yet not so quiet as to make our party feel like we needed to talk in hushed tones. I had the pulled pork sandwich- it was very very good. A couple of people got the tomato soup and said it was delicious. The Sicilian tuna looked great also."

"It was Mother's Day and quite crowded-our table for 4 was uncomfortable as the legs were in everyone's way. We had the salmon benedict and the poached eggs were cold. Other than that the food was very good. I have been there for other meals and this was a little sub-par."

"I realize brunch on Mother's Day is a headache for diners and for restaurants, but this was just so disappointing and did not seem due to ridiculous crowds. The service was pleasant but soooo slow, everyone seemed bored more than anything. No apparent hustle to see that folks were being taken care of. We waited forever to just have our drinks brought (they could never come up with really hot water for hot tea, appeared more like hot tap water) and then to order, food finally came and was barely warm. We have dined here before and could not have been more disappointed, and for a fairly pricey brunch. Only the dessert buffet was lovely and tasty. I have to say after this disappointment I will not be inclined to ever go back."

"Lovely dinner. Don't dine at Webster House very often, as it usually draws an overflow crowd on performance nights at Kauffman Center, but it was an off night.....still well attended. Love their rolls, my companion waxed eloquently over the shrimp and grits; and I enjoyed the flat steak. will return again, on another "off night.""

"There were 5 of us in our group. We all had the trio lunch specials with soup, salad and sandwich. I thought the panini was awesome and the potato soup was very good. Our server was very courteous and didn't hover, which was great. She was very helpful with the menu questions. Atmosphere was very pleasant and we enjoyed the beautiful rose room. Only one of us had been there before; we would all come again!"

We were asked several times if we were attending a performance and we said no. Unfortunately that meant we got slow, lack luster service. They didn’t bother to ask if we were celebrating anything and in fact we were treating my mom to a special night out for a personal celebration. Guess that was not as important.
Server was also the bartender and was not welcoming, informative or pleasant. Very dry and hard to get a hold of. Finally asked management for a new server and got one for a moment then we got the bartender back. Table next to us had the same experience."
