Since its opening in 2005, Envoy Restaurant in the Ambassador Hotel has been charming guests with its nostalgic 1920's ambiance, world class cuisine and impeccable service. Envoy's menu showcases artisan regional ingredients while fusing recognizable American cuisine with global influences.
"I was a bit disappointed that some of the small plates were taken off of the normal Sunday brunch menu (I was SOOOO looking forward to the tenderloin and eggs), but the addition of the buffet was nice. It included a chef carving prime rib and turkey breast, an omelette station, waffles with toppings, fruit, bacon, sausage, potatoes, shrimp, smoked salmon, and LOTS of great desserts! (The turtle bars and carrot cake were the BEST!) The small plates that we DID have, came out fast, and were great-especially the french toast. Barry, our server/bartender was very pleasant! Loved that mimosas were included in the price. The dining room was full, so we were seating in the bar, but this was fine. It wasn't as chaotic as the main room can be."

"We had a nice dinner, but started slow and we had a shuttle to an event to catch. Service was a little too slow, but they were kind enough to hold our bill and invited us back for the dessert which was included in our meal after our show."

"i enjoy the atmosphere and the staff, but the food was not as good as the prices would lead one to believe. also, it took a long time for the food to arrive, but i think that was just a one-off as other diners seemed to be served in a timely fashion.
do take advantage of their bar happy hour, great drink and app deals. the main dining room for dinner may be a pass though."

"Our server Ike is fantastic. He remembered what I had ordered the last time that I was there and even though it wasn't on the menu, he had the chef prepare it for me. It was delicious!"

"We went for a birthday brunch on Sunday, April 14th.
We were seated promptly.
At that point it took over 15 minutes for anyone to come over to our table. We had to go into the bar and have drinks delivered. The hostess had to go find someone after she saw how longer we had been sitting with no service.
Some of the food seemed old - like it had been sitting Other food that had to be made to order - still got to us cold like it was sitting. Coffee was full of grounds
I have been to brunch here many times - this time POOR QUALITY AND SERVICE."

"We Dined at Envoy for Easter Brunch. We were seated in the lounge (bar) area, but we feel this worked out well as it was much more quiet and better for a conversation. The waiter (Halle I believe) only had about 4 tables and was very flustered. He served our table and other tables the wrong selections on multiple occasions. He also served our shared small plates without individual plates. The host stopped by and quickly made corrections. All in all we had a great time, and enjoyed a great meal."

"This was our second brunch here. The food is quite good, but the service is just terrible! This place needs to add or retrain staff! I was told I couldn't have a scrambled egg on my crabcake benedict? they were too busy? The place was half empty, I found the manager and he told me no problem! The line for omelettes and carved meats kept running out of clean plates? Again it was not that busy, they just seemed to be overwhelmed? Most likely we will not be going back, many places in the area for a good relaxing burnch and can handle a Holiday serving!"

"We really enjoyed our visit to THe Ambassador Hotel and Envoy. THe renovation to the hotel kept with the integrity of the art deco period and is beautiful. Our dinner was delicious and the wait staff did an excellent job. I will definitely go back! The bar was hopping but we did not have an opportunity to check it out. Next time!"

"Sunday brunch was great--loved being able to try a number of small plates, all fresh and delicious! Sooooo much better than a typical buffet line brunch, with steam table dishes that have been sitting there for hours!"

"Another great meal at Envoy. Such a fantastic place, a Milwaukee hidden-gem, the food, atmosphere and service are outstanding. The food is unique, flavorful, excellent presentation, good portions and very reasonable. The hotel was restored to its 1940's style/class, like stepping back in time. You certainly don't feel like you're in Milwaukee, more like San Fran or Chicago, upscale casual and nice. The service is always very attentive, warm and friendly. Truly an underrated and under-appreciated place."

"Envoy continues to be a spectacular Sunday Brunch experience. They are also EXTREMELY kid-friendly, which I appreciate. We were able to request pretty much whatever we wanted from the staff to keep our son happy: sliced bananas, hash browns, and mac and cheese. Since the little one was happy, we were able to kick back and really enjoy a relaxing brunch."

"One of our favorite restaurants. Love the fact that they have been faithful to the Art Deco period including specials like the 4 course Gatsby dinner and the buy 1 cocktail at current price & get 2nd at 1928 price. Food is always top notch as is the service. Shuttle service to downtown events is also a nice touch."

"Nice bar. Had server only worked there two weeks. She had way too many tables. Service required manager intervention. Server said kitchen couldn't keep up with orders??? Anyhow, the bar there has been renovated and nice. Hotel in sub-optimal location but has own secure parking (else you might not have your ride). Not recommended and would not attend again, sorry."

"Restaurant was just average, and given the many options in Milwaukee, would recommend checking something else out instead. 2 of the 3 in the party really disliked their food. Neighborhood isn't best either, although the restaurant itself is fine. I think we had a new server who was still learning the ropes, not great service but expect it will be better with experience. To reiterate, fine if you are in the area and want to stay there, but otherwise we'd recommend checking another restaurant out."

"Josh was especially wonderful. The table was prepared way early. He accommodated separate checks and gave us tips on all the meals. My group tries to come monthly and we always like it here."
