"As always, Lawry's was fantastic. The food was delicious and the service was perfect. They never disappoint. I took my mom for Mother's Day. The place was packed, but as always, everything was running smoothly. My family all had prime rib and loved it. I am not much of a beef eater so I ordered the sea bass. It is great that they give the same thought and attention to the non-beef entrees. It was some of the best sea bass I have had - cooked to perfection! I cannot say enough good things about our experience!"

"The steak was great. I didn't like that you can't substitute the "side" item without paying an extra $6-$8 (to an already $35 plate price). I can't imagine that much of the revenue generated is from side items - they should be interchangeable.
Service was decent - didin't see my waiter much. My coffee kept getting cold waiting on cream. In his absence, there was a drink refill person that made sure the waters and teas were almost always topped off."

"The food and the service are always impeccable. No complaints at all there. It is a tradition for us for certain special occasions.
We only go 2-4 times per year because it is a 45 minute drive (or more with LBJ construction), and because it is not a very good value. The prices keep going up while the portions (prime rib, yorkshire pudding, creamed spinach, etc.) keep getting smaller. There are many other great restaurants to choose from with better value and closer to home."

"Prime rib was very fatty for Mom, more fat than usual for my wife, and my medium well was so well done that it was dry. The baked potato could have been done a bit more, the table was the worst location in the room. And I've been going to Lawry's for literally 50 years since a high school student growing up in LA. This was, perhaps, the most mediocre meal of all those years and all those visits, which must be close to 100 times. It's still a special place, even though Dallas is not Beverly Hills."

"This was an exceptionally disappointing dining experience.
We frequent Lawry's anytime we have the opportunity. This experience in Dallas left us completely disappointed. The prime rib was awful. Awful.
The service was acceptable and the restaurant was beautiful however sadly we will not visit Lawry's Dallas again because it failed to meet our expectations on every level."

You may want to do a "did you know...." series related to the history of Lawry's. I loved the "rolling stainless steel food server," that is special and I had forgotten about that."

"The support staff are wonderful and the waitstaff impeccable. Easy to converse, low background noise and the waiters don't bother you constantly. "Prime Rib was cooked perfectly but the quality was closer to that of good "choice" as opposed to true "prime" Prime Rib. The wait staff were good but a step down from professional staff you see at higher end restaurants. I also could not recommend the wedge salad with Maytag bluecheese. The salad was showing signs of wilt and the dressing was not suffiently thick and had no blue cheese crumbles from which to discern whether the bluecheese was actually good. The mashed potatoes and creamed spinach were probably good back in the 80's but are in serious need of a makeover. Overall a nice restaurant but I will stick with a higher end steak house for a little more money."

"I expect a steakhouse to be able to cook a Medium steak. My filet had no pink anywhere and as a result was dry and bland. The lobster tail that accompanied it also had been overcooked... thank goodness for the butter which made it palatable. The only reason that I gave the Food rating a FAIR instead of POOR is because our appetizers (shrimp cocktail & crab cakes were pretty tasty)."

"Walking into Lawry's was definitely a walk into the past. The food was excellent and we really enjoyed the food, but it was a bit surreal eating a salad that was originated over thirty years ago and is still served the same way today. Overall, an excellent meal and I would recommend it for someone who wants a wonderful prime rib in an old fashioned (but very clean) environment."

"As usual the food and atmosphere were great. We had (2) tables, one children's and one adults and (2) waitresses. The waitress for the children's table was very rough and unfriendly. No suggestions were made and when serving she was quite impatient with the adults. This is not our usual experience at this restaurant. Usually the servers are quite wonderful no matter how crowded the restaurant may be. We've had this server on one other occasion and she was exactly the same way, rude. Therefore we can conc;ude that it is her personality and she was not just having a bad day."

"When looking for Easter Brunch reservations I was looking for a restaurant that actually served Brunch. I made reservations for our family of 5 after clicking on the menu and reading that everyone would be happy since they could order either prime rib or a traditional brunch item. When we arrived at the restaurant we were told they no longer serve brunch on holidays. Our meal was good but would have been much better had we known brunch wasn't actually going to be an option. I did go back and check on their web-site and the open table web-site to make sure I hadn't just missed the note. I would suggest adding a line or an * stating that brunch menu isn't applicable on holidays."

"My first experience at a Lawry's was the at the one in LA. So I wanted to take my mom for her birthday. This Lawry's was very similar except that the scene in Dallas was very ritzy and people were very dressy as opposed to the casual dressings in LA. But the dining experience was very good. The prime rib was exceptional as expected. In Dallas, the prime rib meal doesn't come with a salad, but they said that they did that so they could lower their prices. My mom ordered the filet mignon and I got to have a taste and i have to say it is one of the best filets i've tasted in a while. Miss Balch our server was terrific."

"This is our favorite restaurant for my fiancé's birthday each year. Food's always consistently good as well as the service. The bar area is also a favorite of ours to stop for a quick meal of caesar salad, calamari and onion straws and don't forget the creme brûlée!"
