"We took an out of town guest to STEEL on a Thursday night. The place was flat out empty, which had be worried from the beginning. The sushi is OVERPRICED, and average at best. My companions ordered from the menu and rated their meals fair. We will not be going back."

"The food was good. The entrees were of reasonable proportion. The service was very poor.Soup arrived after the entree. Our waiter did not smile or show enthusiasm with providing good service. Our final bill needed to be corrected because of charges for food/alcohol that we did not order."

"Good sushi, but pretty pricey. There were some things I wouldn't order again. Uni, wasn't the freshest I've had, and the hamachi, and salmon didn't have much flavor. The Toro however was amazing although it was so expensive at $16 for 2 pieces of nigiri. Spicy tuna with avocado was great, fresh tuna with perfectly ripe avocados. The sake menu was lacking a bit, but they had a couple good bottles. The tuna tower appetizer was tasty but lacked tuna. There was a tiny layer of tuna compared to the enormous layer of crab and rice below it. Overall, the food was good but too expensive for what you get, even with the toro being so good, I'll try a different place next time as this is not the one if you're looking for authentic style sushi."

"Food was excellent and service was outstanding. Favorite food - calamari. Wednesday "free sushi" is a great deal and the sushi rolls are really very good. Portions are small for what you pay for ... but on Wednesday nights, it's hard to complain. We love this place."

"The service was great, and the food was good minus the dessert. Their dessert menu doesn't seem to be their specialty. I had their dessert for new years and valentine's day and it was just ok. For new years I had their lava cake dessert and it wasn't good I ate two bites and that was it. I would never ordered that again my husband didn't like it either and he loves chocolate. For valentine's day we tried a different dessert my husband ordered fruit in brandy sauce over cinnamon ice cream and it was ok, but he didn't love it, and I ordered the banana egg roll with cinnamon ice cream. I had high hopes for this dessert, but it fell short it was ok, but for valentines day you don't want to eat a dessert that is just ok, you want to love dessert"

"We ordered the pre theater menu, which consisted of an app,entree, and dessert for 25$. The food was not that great, the amount of food was about a moderate amount, not a generous portion. The crispy beef was grisly, the desserts were unappealing, unflavorful. However, the ambience was romantic, and the server was very charismatic. If you eat here, order the chicken instead and save your money on the dessert."

"food was tasteless. we had a party of 13. restaurant charged us 20% gratitude on each person's bill. i think that is too much. but great atmosphere. will go back to restaurant because of cozy atmosphere, but i might not order food. even the crab ragoon was nothing to write home about."

"Have loved Steel for a long time. Didn't realize they instituted an extremely popular happy hour from 5-7 Monday-Friday. Good for them for finding a way to draw the crowds in these difficult times, but don't go before 7 if you want to have any chance of having a conversation. Loud, loud, loud!!! And I was continually being bumped into by the wait staff as they passed between me and the large table behind me. Sushi is still good, but portions and presentation have gone downhill dramatically.

Open Table: Your noise level ratings need to be changed to include an "over the top loud" rating."

"Steele provides a great dining experience. As we were celebrating a birthday it was important to me that our experience was a good one. We were not disappointed. We had a delay in getting seated even though we had a reservation but I attribute that to the size of our party. The overall feel of the restaurant was subdued and energetic at the same time. The food was delicious. We ordered at least 10 different menu items if not more and were very pleased with all. The rice/noodle bowls & salads are an exceptional value. The seafood platter although excellent was the least value friendly item our party tried. Adult beverages were also excellent. We will definitely return. Service was timely, pleasant & personal. Manager & owner visited as well."

"Parking is difficult to figure out because it is not well signed and it is on a busy corner.
The food was good and could have been very good but the waitress did not ask me how I would like my beef prepared, so depending on the size of the piece it was either well done or rare. The flavor was excellent though. The presentation was very nice as well.
I also felt the food was very expensive ($24 for maybe 10 small chunks of beef on top of a few greens, $14 for a bowl of chicken fried rice) for what you got. A real bummer that would make me not recommend it.
I am an Atlanta foodie and I don't se this restaurant lasting even though my overall experience was good. One time to go will suffice."

"Had reservations for New Years Eve so it was a different menu that the regular one. I got a steak that was delicious and everything else was tasty as well. Plus they have free sushi from 5 to 7 on Wednesdays. Can't beat it"

"The food was phenomanal, not to mention the presentation, atmosphere and the attentiveness and knowledge of the wait staff. Great selection of saki and unbelieve sashimi choices (the blue fin is out of this world!!) I would recommend Steel to anyone looking for outstanding sushi. Hands down best sushi I've ever have in my life!!! (Oh, and the desserts aren't too shabby either!)"

"The service was very slow. It took over an hour before our meals were brought to the table and we were there for lunch. There were too many servers coming over to check on us even though we had not received our food yet. The manager came over to ask if everything was okay, but we still had not received our lunch. The people seemed well meaning, but it just showed me that they knew they were very late with our food, and instead of explaining the hold up the servers and manager just asked if we were "okay." I would definitely not feel badly if I never went there again."

"I loved this place...however, when we were sitting at our table near the kitchen..I guess they were short staffed..so the receptionist went into the kitchen to help. While preparing to grab a plate to deliver to a table I guess she noticed something in the food...So she sticks her fingers in the food and start picking in it until she found whatever she was looking for..what horrified us what that she did this with her BARE hands with no gloves coming right from the front lobby right into the kitchen. I feel sorry for whoever had to eat that dich..We prayed that it wasn't coming to ur table..YIKES!!!!!!"

"we loved steel. we thought the food was outstanding. everything was seasoned perfectly and so tasty. and the portions were generous. we were especially pleased with the sushi. we settled on one of the more expensive special rolls and when we got it, it was overflowing with fish (so we felt we got our money's worth). the service was excellent, too. the waitress was attentive, friendly, and informative. we left feeling full and happy. we will definitely be back."

"Good pan-asian food, including an impressive sushi selection and impeccable service: My Salmon was cooked more well than I like and when I mentioned this to server the dish was promptly re-prepared to my liking and the manager came to check in on us to ensure everything was satisfactory. $5 Ketel Martini's were a nice touch too, we'll be returning soon."

"We ate lunch early before going to the High Museum. It was very quiet at that time, and service was very attentive. We had the Chilean Sea Bass box entree, and the flavor was very intense with not only the sea bass, but also the California roll and other accompaniments. "This was my 3rd time eating at Steel. The 1st two times we enjoyed our meals but this time the food was barely edible. My daughter in-law had to send her salmon back twice to get it done enough to eat and the glaze on the orange chicken that I had was so thick that it had the consistancy of melted jelly. Also, the jasmine rice was way undercooked."
