"I have been to this restaurant multiple times and I have never been disappointed by food nor service This time I must comment on my visit on May 17th in evening I arrived and was greeted by a young blond hostess. She was very unprofessional, disengenious, and quite rude in the manner she addressed our inquiry about seating options. I believe her name was Annie and if I was not so impressed with my previous experiences, I would have found another dining option that evening.
This evening my guest and I ordered ceviche, lomo saltado, tequenos, and mussels. I wish I could eat more food but I'll return again. For dessert I ordered chocolate lava cake and it was fantastic."

"Go to a place like LIMON or somewhere else- This place is overpriced and the service wasn't great. Hate to say it because I enjoyed this place when I went a few years ago, but it feels aged and flat now."

"Pleasant, warm ambiance. We enjoyed sharing the ceviche trio, a few small plates & daily special (sea bass with homemade ravioli). Tasty food and a fun experience. Service felt slightly rushed at times, but I guess that's what you get in a busy restaurant."

"Been to different locations of Fresca. This is my second visit to the one on Fillmore. The food was very good--the pork was cooked to perfection--tender and not dry. It was very hard to have conversations at the table because of the noise level of the other tables. Also, I had made reservations through Open Table for 3 at 8:30pm but still, had to wait for about half-hour, to which the hostess said she would offer us free sangria but that did not follow through; however, the food was so tasty, we were forgiving on these issues. I might try the other locations again, instead of this one."

"My husband loved the Tequenos (crab and cream cheese won tons) but we were not as excited about the Platanos Fritos. I ordered mussels for appetizer and the portion was so large that I made it my entire meal. The mussels were great and there was plenty of sauce for mopping up with extra toasted bread. My husband also loved his Corvina (bass) fish on spinach on rice cake. We were enjoying ourselves so much that we ordered dessert. The Alfajores consisted of 2 shortbread cookies with caramel filling, ice cream and strawberries and whipped cream. The portions were just right and I ate the whole thing! My husband liked the sugary Picarones (beignets). The Illy decaf was the best coffee I've had at a restaurant in years! The service was O.K."

"The food was incredible. The smells, as we walked into the restaurant, were intoxicating and we were very excited to find that the food was as good. the chicken stew was outstanding but the ceviche was the treasure. I will definitely go back."

"I always have a great experience at Fresca, and love bringing people there for their first trip. We had a big group, and their staff did a great job having things prepared for us, with quick service for the whole group. Food as always was delicious."

"This was the second time for us at Fresca. We went early (5:30) hoping for a quiet dinner. We were seated 3 tables from the door and the receptionist allowed customers to stand holding the door open (there is not much room in the entry area). It was very cold. Food was good with large portions. By 6, the place had filled up and we had a large, loud family group of 5 next to us. We hurried our meal and left as soon as we could. The room has no noise softening, so the entire place is very noisy. We suggest you try to be seated along the right wall where the tables are not side by side and are away from the door."

"I have been a long time fan of Fresca. Been to this and the Noe Valley locations many times and always had delicious, flavorful food and friendly service. Today, I had to change my reservation within 30mins of my original reservation. They accommodated my request only if I could agree to finish the meal in 1.5 hrs. Since it was just my friend and me, I thought that was no problem. However, dessert came a little slower than expected, so we went over our time limit. But the hostess did not push us. I saw her kindly keep the next couple talking and waiting patiently at the door until we were finished, about 15 minutes late. My dinner date was new to the city and to Fresca and she is now a fan of the restaurant."

"Great food and pretty good service although their waitress(in our case) could have used more help.
Restaurant was very noisy. I mean it was a problem. We were a table of six and it was difficult to hear a conversation with the backdrop din.
The one aspect of the restaurant that needs addressing is the temperature. They have a curtain at the door to stop the draft/cold and they refused to use it despite two of our party of six requesting it. Set a bad tone at our table. One of us ate with a hat on and heavy coat. Get the message Fresca?
Menu typeface was way too small. Forgot my reading glasses and it was a real effort. Even those with good eye sight strained. Increase font size or have a few pairs of reading glasses."

"The waiter informed us that another party had our table of 3 at less then 90 mins after we'd been seated on a Friday night, then became increasingly abrupt and rude to get us out the door. I've never seen this type of service. It was pretty bad. In fairness to the waiter, it was probably a restaurant policy, but keep it in mind, if you want to have a 3-course dinner to catch up with friends. This venue will seem rushed, and it will be extremely noisy. The food was pretty good."

"Very uncomfortable experience. The server/ host gave us a table very close to another table taken by a couple and the place was empty. I asked for a more private one by the wall n was told that all tables were already reserved. I also had a reservation! At the end, we were three tables , all very close to each other n the place was still empty with the table that I asked by the wall still empty. Very inappropriate atmosphere for an almost $90.00 dollars check for two people. The food was good but I was not able to enjoy it at all! I felt like I was sharing the same table with that people while the restaurant had more open tables available . The server/ host did not seem to care that much. I left feeling frustrated n probably won't came back"

"Parts of the meal were very nice. The ceviche was excellent and the seafood in all of the dishes was beautifully cooked. But some things weren't so great. We had the table next to the door and it was cold whenever anyone opened the door. My date eats gluten-free. She asked the waiter if the seafood stew would work for her. He said it wouldn't because it had rice in it. She told the waiter that rice was ok (because it doesn't contain gluten). Despite that, the dish arrived without rice. Without the rice, the dish lacked body. Not nearly as good. The dish also came out luke warm. My paella was piping hot, but not quite done. Flavors were good, but it lacked that crunchy crust at the bottom of the pan."

"A great little Peruvian Restaurant in a fun little area on Filmore. Food came out perfectly cook and tasted great the Churrasco was delicous, the Empanadas & Papa Rellenas were however AMAZING..
The place can get a little loud when busy and they only have a Beer and Wine license but the selections of both are great.. for those of you who need a cocktail there are planty of places near by for that pre or post dinner cocktail.
Definitely a great place to get tgether with friends for dinner or a even date night if you're not looking for quiet and romantic.."

"I hadn't eaten at Fresca in a while and was pleased to see that it's just as excellent as it ever was. It fits my idea of what a good restaurant should be on several levels: it's identifiably ethnic, has great food and service, and isn't overly expensive. There were 3 of us and we shared pretty much everything. I particularly like Fresca's take on aji amarillo, a wonderful chicken stew with rice. We also had the corvina (sea bass), which unlike sea bass at many establishments, was a firm white fish and not gelatinous at all. I highly recommend Fresca."

"After taking our order, I think the waiter stopped by our table twice the rest of the night.
DO NOT get the ceviche sampler as it comes with the most pathetically tiny portions, and without anything to eat it other than your fork, unless you want to pay the $6 for tasteless plantain chips."
