"We were celebrating my hisband's birthday with the family and the restaurant was very accommodating when we increased our reservation from four to seven people. Our service was very good, especially because of the variety of food that was ordered. It has become one of our favorite restaurants."

"The pork chops were really tough; the chicken parmesan was just ok, as was the pasta; the bread was so hard and dry it was tooth-cracking, even with the oil; the desserts (chocolate cake and cappuccino cake were barely average.We had to ask for pepper (no shaker on our table) and a steak knife. Fortunately we had a gift certificate and didn't have to pay for this very ordinary food. Every Italian restaurant in the area is better."

"Our favorite Italian spot on the south shore, but they missed in a big way last night! Service was horrible and there was only one other table in out section when we were dining. The salad special was supposed to have dried cherries and frsh strawberries, but came out with craisins and seedless grapes, plus it wasn't washed properly and was gritty. My wife's Salmon was fishy and it took the waitress 20 min to return after dropping off our meals to ask if everything was OK. I was looking for her at 10 min so we could get the meal replaced. Again, the place was not busy. I spoke to the hostess upon exiting and she said sorry.
We dine here often, but I'll be taking a break for a while."

"I am a professional Chef trained in Switzerland and a CIA graduate. I travel the country working with international restaurant chains, following trends and developing menus.
The food was incredible! By that I mean it was prepared using fine ingredients in the style and fashion of San Pietro Italy. The soup was prepared from stock, not a soup base, as many soups are made today. They tomatoes used in the Ragu were fine quality, resembling San Marzano. Desserts were wonderful, several are made in house.
If you are looking for an incredible Italian restaurant this is it! If you are looking for a chain experience keep driving; this isn't it! Great food requires fine ingredients and a talented staff. This is the real deal!"

"We had a 9:00 reservation and we when we got there our table wasn't ready which was no problem. We went to the bar and found 2 seats and sat there and had a drink - we ended up eating at the bar which was a big mistake, service was terrible. My husband and I both ordered salads and then we waited for at least 30 minutes for our meals - we ended up not eating our meal because now it was 10:00 and our meal hadn't come yet. My husband walked out of the restaurant and I spoke to the manager at which point she brought our food out in to go containers. I firmly believe somehow they forgot to put our order in, we have eaten there several other times and have sat in the dining room and honestly we have never had a problem. Very disappointing."

"My husband and I had a great time. The truffle and sweet pea soup was fantastic as was the boston lettuce salad with strawberries and gorgonzola! amazing presentation! I am often disappointed to find very few vegetarian options, and so was not surprised to find only a few interesting options. However, the cinnamon ravioli was very tasty. and Oh my- the chocolate and hazelnut cake was delicious! the staff were all friendly, helpful and service was timely. The manager did not seem able to crack a smile, but her staff made up for it."

"In a word "delicioso!" I rarely go out for Italian food. The reason? I make everything from Veal Saltimbocca to Zuppa Di Pesce at home. I'm fussy about what I eat....the ingredients...the preparation etc. Trattoria San Pietro is the one place, when I do dine out with friends or business associates, that I can count on, to serve authentic delicious food every time I have the pleasure of dining there.
I have a few favorites....The calamari which is done in a light red sauce and kicked up with capers and gaetta olives (I've tried this recipe at home). I prefer this style to breaded and fried calamari. The sauce is delicate, yet bold enough to complement the calamari. Try the guazetto and veal involtini, you won't be disappointed."

is delicious and the service is great. The only wrinkle we could find is the owner, arrogant, and not friendly, even when we were telling him how great his food was. He was uninterested and seemed bored.
We will continue to go to their sister restaurant Cafe Strega because the food is wonderful and the staff is friendly and warm, making us feel extremely comfortable.
And we will visit San Pietro again, because of the food and the staff, certainly not because of the owner.

"we had a 7:15 reservation and arrived a few minutes early. We tried to find a spot with our friends at the bar but it was so crowded we were in the way every where we went. We kept checking in with hostess to find out that they were running 45 mins. behind. We were seated after 8:00 and our waiter came after a while to give specials,then he was gone for a while we ordered and waited a while for our food, which was excellent, but we needed to keep asking for drink service and water . Our waiter was not attentive at all, we needed to flag him down for coffee when we were clearly one of the last customers there."

"There's nothing wrong with this restaurant, but its way overrated. The food pairings were odd and all our servers seemed like they were high schoolers. My wife ordered the fish special which had ok talapia with mixed green lettuce and basalmic dressing. The salad dressing ran into the fish and kinda ruined it. There was no starch on the plate at all. However, the chicken saltimbocca was very good. Avoid the stuffed pepper app. The desserts were all cakes which could have been bought at Cosco. Tosca is way better."

"Overall fantastic experience. Everyone loved their food except me. I had a special offered, Tilapia, which was overcooked and dry. When offered. The said it'd come with roasted veggies when in fact it came with mixed greens. After a salad appetizer, this was a bit much. Due to mistake, they offered 2 complimentary desserts. "I had a reservation for 7pm, an we were seated at 7.45.
Have been there many times, this was a total chaos with over booking on that evening
People waiting all over the place for their seating
Food was very good, and wait staff more than attentive."

"We have been to Trattoria San Pietro many times. The food is always great. We have not been there for a while because the last time we were there the server was terrible. We recieved a gift certificate so we decided to give the restaurant another try. I am glad we did. Our server was very good. The food of course was excelant and I have always loved the atmosphere."

"Our server was not at all welcoming or friendly. We had to wait a long time for drinks even though we were the only patrons at the time. The busboy was very good with the dessert cart and attentive. We requested seating by the fireplace and that was perfect. My husband was still hungry after dinner. Dessert was the best."

"This restaurant continues to please with reasonably priced, great tasting Italian food in good-sized portions. Even the bread is excellent!
There are really only two caveats about this place:
1) it tends to have a higher-than-average noise level caused by a large open area with tables packed closely together (no sound absorption at all), and
2) the night we visited (a Holiday Monday), the service was inadequate (rushed and too long between seeing anyone at all) due to having too few wait-people available for the large crowd. Other nights, the service has been better, however.
I would still recommend you give this place a try, as it is a very good value!"

"expecting the restaurant to be busy and crowed since it was
valentine's day. we were pleasantly surprised how comfortable we were
this is a small place and at times can seem overcrowded but this night they
went out of their way to make sure you had an intimate surrounding. the food and service for such a busy evening was superb will still be on of our favorite spots"

"First visit. Smaller inside than it appears from the outside, but that adds to it's unique charm - for the romantics, there is a fireplace in the middle of the seating area. The menu ($$$ - appetizer - dessert) is not overwhelming with the number of choices, but adequately covers all of the basics. The service was exceptional - we (6) were seated early and our waitress knew exactly when to check in. The food and drink were exceptional - we ordered a little of everything (red and white wines, multiple appetizers, chicken, salmon, veal, seafood, and pasta). Each dish was tasty, served hot, and half our group brought home lunch for the next day. A "North End" kind of evening without having to drive into Boston."

"The bar was very crowed and noisy, but the drinks were good. We had about a 15 minute wait even though we had a reservation, and there really wasn't a place to wait without being in the servers' way. Food was delicious, service very good and friendly. Would defintely go there again."

"We took my mother in law there for her 79th birthday. We also had my father in law with us who is 81 and we all commented on how nice the wait staff was. The food was great and the ambiance was nice. I would say it was a little noisy but not to bad. Would definitely go back."

"A Thursday 6pm reservation, not very busy, but gave us to a waitress who had just been given a very large party and was yet to get their drink orders fulfilled. Bad decision as she had to make multiple trips for their bar orders and we sat ignored for at least 15 min. This is hostess/ manager poor decision, not waitress!
