"Serivce was great -- prompt and extremely friendly. The buffet food was exquisite and bountiful. There was never a long line and all my children absolutely loved the experience. It was definitely an experience for all ages as my children -- ages 15, 12, 10, 5, and infant -- are all eager to make this an annual celebration of their mother! Oh, and my wife was absolutely floored at the surprise and said that without question this was the best buffet brunch she has ever been to. Great job, staff!"

"The Hunt CLub is a nice place with generally good food and service.
I booked the Hunt Club for Mother's Day because it is a sentimental place for my family because my sister's wedding reception was held at the Sorrento Hotel.
I did not book the bar. But that's where we were seated, with no one else. I thought it would fill up so I didn't complain. But it didn't. And there was a four top in the dining room available the entire time we were there.
If you are booking a table at the Hunt Club, include a note that you expect to be seated in the dining room, not the bar."

"We were celebrating a 60th birthday for a co-worker and notified the restaurant in advance. They sat us in the bar, which was fine, but the bartender was our waiter and seemed busy. The food was excellent, but as soon as we were done eating we were given the bill. I guess they don't offer desserts or coffee. We left to celebrate elsewhere. While the food was good, the overall experience was lackluster."

"Food was good and great atmosphere. We were not impressed however with the service. The server was told at the beginning that we needed to leave at a certain time for a show. We had to hunt down our server, wait for the check and then wait for the valet parking while he was on the phone. We ended up being late for our show."

"The decor and ambiance is outstanding. Be prepared to spend a little more than $$. Realistically the price is around $50 per person with salad, entre and sides. The taste is worth the trip up the hill."

"Met a friend for lunch before a medical appointment and searching where on First Hill we might go. I am on a special diet requiring proteing and veggies for lunch and my options are limited- no carbs. I had a lamb patty with cucumber salad and tomato chutney. It was perfect- great flavor and all within my low carb and low fat needs. My friend had a ruben and loved it. I love the ambience of an old world, dark, wood panneled environment that harkens back to another era. In the Hotel Sorrento, this was such a great place. I plan to return for dinner, special occasions and probably to stay the night for some holiday weekend. My friend's family often goes there at Thanksgiving. This is an old school classic. I highly recommend."

"Visited here for restaurant week. Went on a Tuesday. Waitstaff wasn't terribly attentive and there were very few patrons. Appetizer was terrible. Salad was pathetic, dessert (a jar cake) was terribly done, only the scallops (and only half of them) of my entree were good, though a bit over salted. Really missed an opportunity to impress with the Restaurant Week menu. Best part - they Honey Rye cocktail. I'd go back for just the drinks and atmosphere. I'd skip the food."

"The Hunt Club, a Seattle classic Dark wood paneling and ceiling and minimal windows with low lighting combine for an ambiance that is, at first entering a bit foreboding. But soon your eyes adjust and it is a cozy and intimate setting for that special dinner. We were celebrating a birthday, and despite ordering off the promotional menu (Open Table), upon learning that it was a birthday dinner, the waitress comp'd my girlfriend a glass of wine, and upgraded her dessert. Very classy and much appreciated. The clam appetizer that we ordered could have had more clams, but the hearty bisque-like broth made up for that, a bowl of deliciousness. Caesar salad had a touch too much dressing, but nice. Perfectly seared scallops and nice presentation."

"The pre-fixed menu for the dine around Seattle is fine. However, the eggplant was undercooked to me. The service was great. Our waiter had good timing so I didn't feel hurried and I enjoyed every bite. I think one of the best parts was the fresh, warm bread and olive oil dip."

"My wife and I have been meaning to visit this restaurant for many years. Dine around Seattle was a perfect excuse for us to stop in. The portions and quality of food was top notch and not watered down because of the promotion. The service was excellent and we felt very comfortable and taken care of. I highly recommend."

"My partner and I had our anniversary dinner at The Hunt Club. It was during the Dine Around Seattle Week so there were a couple of fuller tables nearby sampling the 3 course menu (probably why there was a bit more noise). However we went for the main menu and were not disappointed. Attentive wait staff, great cocktails, and pretty and delicious plates"

"Nice ambiance and excellent service. They have recently changed their menu and we chose off the $30 3 course menu. Not sure how those items compare to the standard menu, but I was a little disappointed with the quality of the caesar salad, and small serving of steak with 2 pieces of eggplant."

"We went to the Hunt Club on a gift certificate from a friend. We couldn't have been more impressed with this restaurant. It is historical and beautiful, inside and out. The solid wood interior is fabulous. We sat in the bar and enjoyed a drink before our meal. The bar was nice and quiet and inviting. The food was the star. Rolls were out of this world and served with seasoned olive oil. Grilled romaine salad hit the spot with yummy dressing and grilled perfectly. The main course was a perfect top sirloin and sautéed prawns. We ended the evening with a yummy pear tart. Perfect night with my hubby!!"

"I had been to the Hunt Club one time before for dinner. The evening menu was superb. This time four of us went for lunch and they could not have been nicer. We sat in the bar area (given a choice of tables) and both service and food were excellent. Personally, I think the Hunt Club is under utilized by Seattlites because it is in a hotel. Nonetheless, I recommend it."

"The quiet, intimate atmosphere of The Hunt Club is unusual these days. We were able to enjoy interesting, thoughtfully-prepared food without ear damage! No problem carrying on a conversation in a normal tone of voice, either. We were enchanted with the Douglas Fir granita served with our oysters on the half shell, and my carrot raviolis with bits of rich oxtail were outstanding."

"The Afternoon Tea provided by Sorrento Hotel's Hunt Club was everthing I hoped for and more. In a beautiful wood-paneled dining room, we sat at deep leather chairs set up fireside by a beautiful tiled fireplace at a low table laid sprinkled with rose petals. The view and the vibe was one of robber baron opulence worthy of a Carnegie, Rockefeller, or Vanderbilt. After deciding on a tea from numerous choices, we were each delivered our own personal tea pot and instructed in the use of our personal strainer. Afterwards, our nibbles came, a variety of savories and sweets on a 3-tiered tray; delicious! I highly recommend the experience!"

"As with many nicer restaurants the pace was slow, but the water was not filled often enough, the dishes had too much lag time between courses and they were out of bags to put the take home boxes in. That aside, the food was excellent, the server staff friendly and the atmosphere divine."

"Ah-mazing food!!!! The chef was known for carefully selecting locally sourced ingredients and blending them in thoughtful and inspiring dishes and it shows! I had: Seared Sea Scallops with a carrot glaze, a dungeness crab salad with aruguala, avocado, and grapefruit, asparagus with a garlic lemon-butter, and bison with scalloped potatoes and a tart berry compote. Such a diverse array and everything prepared and engineered with such sensitivity. Cons: tables are a bit close quarters, so prepare to listen to interesting/dreadfully boring conversations. Servers' knowledge doesn't necessarily measure up to the menu or ingredients. Alas, probably better that way. If the place was full of frantic foodies nothing would get done."

"We enjoyed dinner at the Hunt Club. The chef has put new flavors on traditional dishes that we had not experienced. The wine list was flexible in price. The selection ranged from one of Washington's internationally best vinyards to several shoppers bargains.
Breakfasts were wonderful. GREAT MENU for breakfast!

"We had Valentines dinner there in the Lounge which was quite wonderful. However, the service was horrible. The wait staff forgot one of the courses, forgot utensils, mixed up our bill and did not pay attention to the time when we said we needed to leave as we had another commitment. We arrived at 5:10 and needed to leave by 7:00, which we felt was ample time to have a special dinner."

"I should have taken to heart the reviews I read before I booked: service was so slow that we missed our 7:30 show and this was after arriving at 5:45 for a 6 pm reservation. When we sat and before we ordered we confirmed that we would be able to eat and make our show, but not only did that not happen, we didn't get all of our courses! They forgot the salad and the sorbet (but did reduce the bill accordingly). On the plus side, the lobster and side dishes we did get were delicious. And the ambiance was delightful. Would I go again ... only if I could set aside two-and-a-half hours for dinner and was prepared to accept the liaise-fare attitude toward service (kinda like what I get at home but not as good food and a familiar setting.)"

"I have been going to the Hunt Club for years, and have usually had great food and great service. So when I made reservations for a Valentine's dinner, I had great expectations. Those expectations were not met. The restaurant had taken pains to put together a special menu. The problem was the execution.Staff, appeared in great disarray. We made reservations, but were still required to wait for some time, even though several tables appeared to be open, and the hostess appeared quite hassled. The waiter was very pleasant, but because of major staffing issues, he was unable to attend to us in a timely manner, and he forgot requests for water, for ice, etc."

"Food was excellent, especially for such a busy Valentine evening. The service was OK, but the staff could really use some training on the finer points of serving in such a classy place, no implements were provided spread the caviar. The wait staff didn't know what to provide and we had to specifically suggest a butter knife. Also, don't clear one place while someone is still eating. Everything was friendly and prompt, just missing on the finer points."

"This review is exclusive to Valentines Day. Fixed menu , very limited, very expensive. Extra tables squeezed in lacked usual romantic environment. Felt kind of like a banquet , use of temporary staff - total bill $260 with tip for 2 - with only 2 glasses of wine each. Definitely was "amateur night"."

"Enjoyed out lunch, but wanted to visit and it got too noisy, so we retreated to the lounge off of the lobby, and it was fine. Always have enjoyed dinner at the Hunt Room. My wife had a going away party when she left Boeing Co in 1957 when there was atower room on top of the Sorrento. My friends mother stayed at the sorrrento when they first moved to Seattle in the '50's, so we were familiar with the scene, and it is still nice.

"We went to the place as we had purchased a Groupon some time back. I had high tea several times in the hotel but never had dinner at the Hunt's club. The food was good, well prepared and nicely presented but nothing extraordinary. We had the following items for appetizers: oysters on the half shell - good but these were the tiniest oysters I have ever seen. French onion soup - broth was too salty. Mains: Prawns with spinach/romesco - okay but the flavors did not come together for us, Beef tenderloin - meat was cooked to perfection but we did not taste much of the truffel sauce, asked to skip the parsley salad but there were tidbits of parsley there so I assume it was added and then removed. :-( Mashed turnips tasted rather bland."
