"The restaurant is great and the menu is beautiful. However, this is the third time I have been and the service is so so and the food is average. A bit of effort on their part would make this restaurant the first rate experience it was the first time I went 2 years ago"

"It was a quiet night in the restaurant, but I don't think if it was busier that it would have changed the excellent service we received from our waiter Andre. He was very attentive and gave good advice after listening to our questions and tastes. The food was outstanding from course to course. We loved the half-sized portions which allows you to taste a variety of the tasty choices. Our only complaint was that the desserts didn't come in half-sizes too which would allow for greater variety there too!"

"I was surprisingly underwhelmed with Le Meritage's wine paring menu. While dishes and paired wines were well thought out, creativity, and flavor in dishes was rather safe and mediocre. Servers really like to explain the concept of the menu and have studied the pronunciation of wine varieties, but fall short on the art of service. I am decidedly not impressed with someone who cannot manage to fill water glasses on the only table they are servicing. I was looking for a fun and novel dining experience and found instead, a stiff ambiance, a menu of reruns and an absentee server."

"Wonderful neighborhood restaurant! Food was incredible and LOVED the ability to order a small or full portion... Which allowed our party of 8 to enjoy more of the menu. Wine pairing with each entree was also a plus! The wait staff was very attentive,, particularly our waitress who recited every entree on the menu...she was amazing!!"

"The restaurant was very nice but not very busy. I usually like a restaurnwith a little activity. We had reservations at 8pm, maybe that was too early for New Orleans. The staff was attentive and the food was very good. If you go, you MUST try the baby cabbage salad! The ingredients didn't sound like they would go together, but the flavor combination was divine!"

"I liked my food, the ambience and the service. However, my boyfriend did not like his shrimp and grits entree. Also, he does not drink alcohol and the emphasis on wine and wine pairings was not comfortable for him. These restaurants are good options for those of us wanting to eat before going to the symphony or other performances at Mahalia Jackson. Perhaps some tables could NOT have all the wine glasses on them, and waiters could ask first if customers are interested in the wine pairing option, etc."

I especially liked having the choice of small or full size portions of the menu item as it offered an opportunity to sample a greater variety of dishes.

"We spent 10 days in New Orleans and dined at a different restaurant every night. This was the only one that used the wine pairing as they do. It is a teriffic idea. The smaller portions was also an exceptional idea as was the 1/2 pour. It allows one to enjoy the excellent food and wines without feeling any gastronomical pressure.
We ranked it among the two best."
