"The place was bright and airy which is great for a beach location. We were disappointed to find out that their website had not been updated to match their menu. We saw an appetizer online that we were excited to get and they didn't have it at the restaurant. We got the steamed oysters and shrimp which were very nice. I do wish the oysters had been bigger."

"Food was great. Our reservations were at 8 and it took over 30 minutes to get seated. On a Saturday night the noise level of the restaurant is only exceeded by a 747 jet taking off."

"This was our 6th or 7th time at Coastal Kitchen, and another wonderful experience. Regina, our server, was excellent, and Archie's appetizers and meals were perfect as always. I don't remember who was working the bar, but they didn't disappoint either. Try the Oysters Popcorn - so tender! The Ahi Tuna was perfect, and the Black Grouper was also delicious. Thanks again Jeff & crew."

"First time at restaurant. Asked for water view. Got it. Table wasn't ready. Had drink in bar..no problem. Seated us and then it was like a race to see how fast we could be served and out the door. When you spend $100 for dinner you'd like to spend more than an hour at the restaurant. Entrees arrrived before we had ordered our wine. The place is too nice to not have the service match the ambiance. Our server was friendly and polite. So don't know if she put our order in too soon...just not what we expected. We will give it another try. We have a second home in Sea Palms and are usually there once a month and like to try local restaurants. And we will recommend it but hope they can slow things down a little."

"I would normally award the highest rating but for the poor service on our night. We were essentially ignored by our server snd we were only a party of two. Normally the service here is equally as good as the food and view. Despite the one bad service experience, this remains our favorite restaurant in St Simons."

"Coastal Kitchen is a wonderful place to dine and catch up with friends and family. The owner walks around welcoming you and making sure you are happy. The waitstaff is attentive and help to make the dining experience even better. Ask for a table by the window or outside to really enjoy the view. We will continue to return. The specials are a delight to try. Appetizer - try the tuna. Dessert - key lime pie -well there are no words."

"there are a number of places that a person can choose when they simply want something to eat - but very few for when someone wants an incredible experience. Coastal Kitchen is exactly that - an incredible experience; the food is unbelievable,the view is spectacular, the service is sensational, and the wine list was clearly designed to suit even the most refined palate. I have had the good fortune of trying a number of great restaurants around the world and I would easily put Coastal Kitchen at the top of that list."

"Delish dinner over Spring Break at Coastal Kitchen. Our artist/server Pete was interesting and made our dinning experience fun and memorable. I had the salmon with wasabi mashed potatoes and it was wonderful. My husband loved the scallops special. This was our third or fourth visit to CK. We visit SSI a couple of times a year and CK has become a favorite for consistently good food and atmosphere. The view of beautiful docked boats ain't bad either!"

"Great bar, but don't go here if you want a good meal! My husband's fried oysters were nothing but batter & my shrimp salad was overly dressed with an oily dressing that made the greens limp. I also ordered the crab stew remembering that the last time I had it, it was quite good. They have definitely changed the recipe. It was if they dumped 2 cans of Campbell soups (cream of mushroom & potato) & sprinkled in a few flakes of crab. It was also served lukewarm. The server was very apologetic & tried to help, but this place has really gone down hill. We will be going elsewhere when we visit the island!"

"As always, our favorite "go to" restaurant came through once again! Every time we have friends visiting, we always make time for dinner at Coastal Kitchen.This time it was particularly perfect. The men had been out fishing with a guide with a boat at Morningstar Marina. We timed our meal to coincide with their arrival back at the marina. I must say, they were beyond ready for their delicious meal... and a few drinks! And, once again, everyone was delighted with their meal. I can't say enough good things about Coastal Kitchen and Jeff Montaigne, the owner! Be sure to make this one of your stops while visiting the Golden Isles!"

"Visiting from small-town KY, just reading the varied ingredients on the menu was exciting. The scallops and flounder were excellent, as was the wine selection. Our server, Samantha, was extremely personable and attentive to detail. We come here once a year and will definitely be back in 2014!"

"Our anniversary is on Valentine's Day. On the Open Table site there was a place for special requests. I asked for a table with a water view and they came through. When making reservations, ask for any special requests and they will do their best to accomodate. We didn't have to wait long for our table to be cleared and set. The staff, food, and selections could not have been better. We very much appreciated the attentiveness of the staff and the accomodations on a very popular eating-out night. The food was some of the best in Southeast Georgia."

"We had a dinner reservation for six.
The waiter was not rude but unprofessional and uninterested in serving us.
The food came to the table by several busters without the waiter. They placed plates of food on the table then he came and said I needed to switch entrees with him and she switch with her and so on until we each had the right order.
The plates were handed across the table, not served individually.
The food was ok but not special."
