"We have eaten at The Melting Pot In Knoxville and Savannah. They have been excellent. This visit was not.
The service was very poor. We waited for 30 minutes or more after the salads, for the meat course. Got very little chocolate and served cold. A different waiter came over and turned the heat up. She talked very fast and unclear, wanting to get through it as quickly as possible. Could not find her for drink refills, dropped food and disappeared. Had this not been our third time eating there we would not go back. My kids loved the entire experience the first two times and took me this visit for mothers day (the night before) . iT WAS VERY DISAPPOINTING THIS TIME. We may go back, but then again,we may not,"

"I celebrated my one year anniversary with my girlfriend. I went in expecting it to be a positive experience because of all the reviews I have read and friends who have been before. It actually surpassed my expectations. It was very private and romantic. Good food, wonderful service, and a unique experience made our anniversary end perfectly. The only thing I would suggest is to make sure everyone who answers the phones is familiar with the gift packages. I ordered one to be ay our table. A website advertised that it came with a photo frame. I called before ordering the package and I was told the frame was included. Not only was it not included, the restaurant had none . However, the rest of the night more than made up for it."

"We had a wonderful time at the Melting Pot. It was our first time and we were not disappointed. The food was so delicious. It is a little expensive, but for a special occasion it is worth the cost. Also prepare to be there a while with a 4-course meal. The service was excellent. We stayed for about 2 hours because we were taking our time and savoring our meal. Plan to go when you don't need to rush to be somewhere else. We highly recommend the Melting Pot."

"the service was the only thing that took away from this being a perfect night out. After the dinner, I took my wife to "50 Shades-The Musical." When our waitress asked if we had plans for the night, we told her. She went off on a tangent about how the 50 Shades books were terrible and had horrific sentence structure. Okay, thanks for that! She tried to smooth it over, but it was too late. Either way, it left an uncomfortable feel for the rest of the night. At one time, another server came to the table and asked if we needed refills on our drinks. My wife asked for more, hot, coffee just as our waitress walked up and made a funny face. The other guy brought the hot coffee and two minutes later the waitress brought another, smuggly."

"For special occasions, this was a new treat! The four course meal is very filling and you can have a different experience every time! The staff is so knowledgeable - but the training they go through seems to ensure a great experience. We asked a lot of questions.
As a childless couple, we often have issues going to expensive restaurants, only to have our meal interrupted by loud children. This time was no different. The tall booths make for a wonderful, cozy atmosphere.
While the cheese and chocolate courses are my favorite, they have a wonderful mushroom sacchetti that I love!
Make a reservation early to guarantee a table."

"Group of 4 went for a birthday dinner. Had reservations. Greeted promptly and seated right away. Server was amazing. First time visit for all of us, so server took the time to explain the menu options to us. We had 3 courses (cheese, entree and dessert) and the meal took us a little over 2 hours to enjoy. Dessert was absolutely delicious - the best part of the meal! Meal was on the pricey side ($$$$), so not a place we would go to every week, but great for a special occasion. Entire table enjoyed the experience."

"This was a very unique dining experience. The atmosphere was really cool. The staff had even signed a birthday card for my friend which was very sweet and a great touch. Here are the problems though: I'm a vegetarian, the options are very limited at this restaurant and the waiter was not very interested in helping me figure out anything out. When I asked about ingredients he just stood at out table and said, "Ummm I guess it doesn't have dairy products in it. My girlfriend eats it and she's lactose intolerant." If our table had questions it seemed to inconvience him. The other people on my group said their food was ok, but were also unimpressed by the waiter. This was a one time thing for my friends and I."

"I love the Melting Pot. I met one of my best friends for supper. The food was great, I have no complaints in regards to the food. the service was great as well. I dine her often with friends. My husband is not a fan, but I am. My only complaint : I brought my youngest child with me, and there is no changing system in the ladies room. If you want a kid friendly place, at least have somewhere to change a diaper."

"The place was so cold that you could not even enjoy the meal. No heat in the front lobby and as I finally was set I was still freezing. The hostess was not friendly at all. I arrived early and I understand this but people was arriving 15-20 past their reservation time and they was still going before me. #rude hostess made for a bad experience get a friendly front person."

"We had only been to Melting Pot 7 years ago. The incentive to go was the Restaurant Week menu and low price. Our server, Fred, was excellent in teaching us how to use the pot and utensils. It was just enough to eat! We enjoyed the privacy of our booth, as well."

"My husband and I went for the Knoxville Restaurant Week. I get emails from The Melting Pot on special occasion nights. We love this place but for sure take advantage of the discounted prices they run. I go to all the Girls Night Out they have with girlfriends. When we got greeted our server (Brinee) recognized me from Girls Night Out I had with some girlfriends some time back. She was very sweet and took care of us. We will for sure come back as we always have good service and great food! Thank you for this opportunity to not spend alot of money to have a night out."

"Food was overspiced. interesting idea, would only go for Cheese and Chocolate (appetizer and desert). Dinner Entree, everything is cooked in a pot of boiling broth... after awhile sort of tastes the same. Spices blend and stick to vegetables... I had spicey (chili powder) broccoli.

"We have a yearly tradition of going to the melting pot for our anniversary this was our 14th anniversary, so we been there before and love it. But this one in Knoxville was really bad we will not ever go back there. The prices are so high now and the food quality is poor at best, the decor is tired and dated and it smells musty and like mildew. And the service was really bad too, I've had better service at the Waffle House. Hopefully the one in Gatlinburg is better because we really like The Melting Pot."

"I was there on Feb.17th and had a reservation for 4. The times before going to this restaurant and everytime I have had 4 people in our party we were able to have 2 different style of being able to cook our food. It is not much fun cooking your food in a single pot versus 2 pots.The next thing was the portions we got. was for 2 people and not 4. For the money that I paid the portions were too small for 4 people. We had to ask for more fruits and bread for the first course. The third course was about the same situation about the vegetables we got and had to ask for more. The next thing was the service. I have had excellent service before and this time the service was not up to par especially when you go to a restaurant of this calliber."
