"Treated a friend and her mother to a pre-Mother's Day night out. We had been to Black Angus before and had such good food the last time, we decided to try it again. We all had the special "filet with béarnaise" and all of our filet's were cooked exactly to order and just delish! We had great service, really good food and what more could you ask for! We will definitely go back soon."

"I was very pleased how easy it was to make a reservation on line.
The experiance was very good.
Starting with being seated very close to reservation time.
The timing in between courses were well scheduled.
The food was cooked as to our request.
The evening ended with using a coupon that made the meal even better.

"Front of the house very friendly and helpful. Seating went well and service was good until we had a problem with one of the meals. The prime rib end cut was so tough my father couldn't eat it. Had them take it back to the kitchen. Meanwhile all of us finished our dinner and my father was still waiting for his. Don't know why it took so long for a replacement but they ended up comping his dinner for us. Nice in the end but put a damper on the festivities."

"Went for mother's day after making a reservation with Open Table and (probably because of the time of the reservation) we were given a nice booth right away and were greeted by the waiter nicely and got our drinks and salads very fast. The food was good (steaks) and we left very satisfied."

"You can never go wrong with Black Angus. The restaurant was packed on the night we went for dinner, thank God for Open Table because we made last minute reservations. We were seated the moment we got there & a crowd of people were there waiting for a table. The food overall was good, they took their time to serve us- i guess because they were very busy. But that was exactly what we were looking for, a nice steak & shrimp."

"Not sure if it was just that day or it has become norm (since we haven't visited there for a while), the food was terrible when we visited this time.
The fried zucchini is overly breaded and overly fired; it used to be one of the reason we visited there. In addition, we had both NY steak and top sirloin by medium-well; however, one of them was actually well-done, and both of them are very, very dry. Again, it used to be very well cooked."

"I've been dining at this Black Angus for more than 15 years - the prime rib is - as it has always been - great. The steaks are also very good, the appetizers and sides are tasty and the bread - oh, it is always great!
the bar may be a bit noisy with the TVs on, but the dining room has separated booths which fit small and large parties so noise is at a minimum."

"I've dined at this location many times, but this was by far the worst service I've received. Requests for "no sour cream" or "please chop up the wedge salad" were not done, and then wrong items were placed on the two checks at the table. It's like we weren't being heard at all. "Ordered the prime rib. The steak was paper thin and about 60% fat. When I showed the wait staff he brought the manager to the table and the manager said that's how a typical prime rib is supposed to look like. I've eaten hundreds of prime rib and they've always be 1/4-1/2 inch thick and about 15-20% fat. He said he'd give us a discount if it would help... Gave a whopping $3 discount. I'll never eat at a black angus again."

"I've been here dozens of times... for a year or so it was my Wednesday night standard destination. The steak is my favorite in the bay area when I have to pay for it myself (if a vendor is paying, Sundance or such is a bit better). The sides are great even though I have pretty much chosen the wedge salad and the loaded baked potato 200 times in a row.
I have noticed that the service varies... some waiters are better than others... a couple are less attentive than others. I used to have my own waiter, who I'd ask for specifically and wait half an hour to be served by if the need arose... and in two years of Robert serving us I had absolutely no complaints. Not so lucky lately.
But if you are indecisive or ravenous, it's the place to g"

"This particular restaurant is inconsistent. Sometimes the food is great and well prepared and sometimes it's not. It's always busy there so we hesitate to send our food back for fear we may never see it again. We were seated at a table big enough for 3 but certainly not for 4 while across the aisle 2 people were seated in a huge booth. They said they didn't have a bigger booth available.

"Great ambiance, excellent food which was very tasty and we did not have a wait, thanks to reservations which not all take. Comparing this Black Angus in Sunnyvale to the one in Milpitas, all three of us decided it was worth the extra drive. Two of our party live in the Milpitas area but since I was coming from work in Redwood City, they thought it would be easier to meet in Sunnyvale and my friend mentioned that she liked the Sunnyvale ambiance better. We look forward to going back."

"Loved the on-line reservation service. Upon arriving arriving, the lobby was full with people waiting to be seated who obviously didn't have reservations. We walked in and were immediately seated in a lovely, rather secluded spot. Apparently, however, they were short on servers as the tables directly across from us were empty the entire time.
We never did get our "home-made" bread. The server said he didn't know why except that the kitchen was behind - we never did get it. The food was great and our server was very nice and accommodating regarding beverages and extra condiments that we wanted."

"Delicious as always. Our server, Fernando, did an excellent job. …Do yourself a favor and take a minute to make a reservation if you intend to enjoy a meal on a Friday or Saturday night. Because of value, food quality and service, this place can get busy."

"Good value for money. Food was properly prepared and tasted good. We had top sirloin steaks an were not disappointed. Service was about right neither rushed nor slow. The waiter checked on us frequently. We liked this restaurant and will go back. We went there for thanksgiving dinner two years ago, and it was very good then, too. It is nice to find a place that maintains constant good quality over time."

"My steak seemed a bit stringy and the prawns were a bit undercooked. Last time we had excellent food; this time it was less so. Service was very good. I picked up a stain on my pants from an uncleaned booth seat. It was a Saturday night and the place was full. I will try again. Thanks."

"The waitress (named Verginia?)was not attentive and had bad attitude.
I have her the coupon at the beginning when we ordered the foods, and insisted the one as promotion picture shown ($16.99).
However, I got the wrong item (skinny shrimps on the stick, instead of Prawns as shown in the coupon picture).
And we waited for a long time without her came back after giving us bill. I went to find her, and told her the bill did not apply coupon deduction. She insisted it was right amount ($24.99) after coupon deduction. I asked her please to check the coupon she took, and I was sure it is $16.99, she was very unhappy and did not say sorry at all. And she just told us shr would ask the manager to come over for the wrong item shrimp."

"Good food, good service, and excellent value - especially if you order one of their specials (we had the 'Campfire Dinner' for two). Black Angus precisely fills the dining niche between the exclusive/expensive like Mortons and the chain/cheap like Applebee's. A very pleasant dining experience at a good price."
