La Caille Restaurant
La Caille is Utah's premier luxury dining experience. Located on 20 acres of Salt Lake's most coveted Little Cottonwood Canyon property, La Caille's grounds offer breathtaking views, manicured gardens, canyon rivers, lush vineyards, winding brick lanes and authentic French decor. La Caille itself is housed in an 18th century French-inspired Chateau. Guests dine in one of three unique dining rooms and, during summer months, on one of our three spectacular patios. La Caille is a twelve-year AAA Four-Diamond Award recipient and our contemporary French menu and service has earned praise nationwide. "We were there to celebrate my husband's birthday, our 10th wedding anniversary, and Mother's Day- all which fall in the same week. We wanted this dinner to be special and it was! The food was delicious, Shannon, our server, was so attentive to everything we needed, and the meal was topped off with a dessert with a sparkler because of our 3 special events. We were so pleased that we chose La Caille. The peacocks were walking all around and we heard them through dinner as they had the french doors near us open. Something we probably won't experience anywhere else. Lovely to walk the grounds after our meal."

"We've dined here many times before. It's all about the atmosphere not neccessarily the food. The flowers from previous years were lacking. I mention this because the price you pay here is about the overall ambience. The food served for Mother's Day brunch was served family style in a generous portion. The service was great. We were a group of 7. The manager introduced himself to us wich was a nice touch. Our server was great on a busy holiday. Upon leaving by valet the the front greeters ran to us to offer our 7 year old a nice lollipop as a kind parting gift. Definitely worth the 300 bill for 7. This place is worth it on special occasions."

"We remembered la Caille as a special place and after many years it did not disappoint. It is on spectacular grounds with great views of the mountains and a lovely stream running through it. The birds and animals are great and the chateau building is charming. The grounds were in between seasons and showing a little wear.
The service was the highlight - so friendly yet professional, we felt like friends. The food was good but not fabulous, though dessert was delicious - the torched Alaska was delicious. It is an expensive night, but for a celebration we were glad that we could afford it. It did not disappoint."

"This is the second time we have had brunch there and I am still in love with this place. The food is fantastic and it keeps on coming with a 4 course brunch. My wife equates the food to breakfast candy (Crème Brule French toast anyone?). It may be a tad on the pricey side but if you go in expecting it, it isn't that bad. A must do for special occasions and brunch is much cheaper than dinner."

"The entrance to this property, along a wilderness highway, is difficult to find (especially at night), but well worth hunting out. Chef Brandon Howard has created a delightful and elegant retreat where the senses can be indulged and satisfied. One of the finest dining experiences in the Salt Lake area."

"Le Caille is a very special place. The ambience is remarkable. The food during our visit was very good, with some special dishes that were extraordinary (seared scallops). "La Caille is a special and unique place, the grounds are beautiful, it's like nothing else in Salt Lake. The food is classic, with adventurous and standard choices to make anyone happy. I'm usually partial to a more modern style, but the imaginative french styling and estate set-up makes for a special experience. The service was friendly and helpful, while providing a memorable, delicious meal! Best of all, the prices have come down slightly while the quality has improved. If you haven't been here before, or if you haven't been in a while, it's worth it for a night not! Now, with their "Common Wealth" menu (Tuesdays?) it is DEFINITELY worth checking out, it is such a bargain with great choices - you could go just because at that price"

"La Caille was always our special occasion type of restaurant but my husband and I hadn't been there for awhile. When you're paying $100 per person for an entire meal, you should expect perfection but unfortunately the meal wasn't what it used to be. I had heard that ownership had changed but I didn't expect the food to be that different. The biggest let down was the banana foster... I could have made it better. I used to love their banana foster. I definitely don't feel we got our money's worth and likely won't be going back for our special occasions."

"Our first visit since new Chef and new owners and it did not disappoint! We brought foodie guests from out of state with us. Their contribution was a 20 year old bottle of wine and La Caille decanted and poured perfectly! They LOVED it! Our food was amazing, the upstairs desert and after dinner coffee/drink bar/lounge area, a wonderful idea on a busy Valentine's night. We were pampered with lovely attention to every little detail. We look forward to warmer weather and dinner outside so we can enjoy more of La Caille."

"LaCaille has always been in my mind a big special occasion place to go. It's been several years since I've been there but this time did not disappoint. It is beautiful, the staff is extremely friendly and helpful. The food does not leave you wanting either. The lobster bisque, I could have had a big bowl of that and not even thought about eating anything else, it was so rich and tasty. I had the Chateaubriand and my wife had the scallops both were cooked to perfection, the wine was perfect. And the dessert bar was great. The restaurant manager came up to our table and spoke us about the dinner and was very pleasant and helpful. I'd go again."

"La Caille is a beautiful restaurant. Unfortunatley, we chose to go on the busiest day of the year - Valentine's Day. Reservations ran 45-60 minutes behind. Frustrated guests lined the hallway and crowded the tiny bar which sat 4 people. When we were seated, the waitress informed us that they didn't have the salmon, lamb, filet, or scallops - the four best dishes of the house. I was disappointed to have been relegated to the chicken, but it was very good. I have to say, the waitstaff handled the evening gracefully. "My husband's entree, the braised short ribs were good. He enjoyed them. I ordered the Venison Wellington which was very disappointing. On the menu it was described as having a house-made pate which was nonexistent & the puff pastry wasn't cooked - it was dough. Not good. Not sure whether we'll go back again. This is the 2nd time we've had an entree that wasn't prepared correctly."

"Entree special (steak) came to the table undercooked. Sent it back. It was returned dry and overlooked. Very gristly meat. This is our second time to La Caille since new management. Very expensive and definitely NO value. Tough to pay for ambiance when there are so many better restaurants in town. What a shame."

"Great atmosphere and food. We liked the new menu, but it was still quite expensive. We brought our own bottle of wine and our bill was still $185.00 for dinner for two. We shared one appetizer, each got a salad, and entree, and dessert. It's a beautiful place with very good food, but there are other places with equally good food for less. Definitely a place for special occasions only as most people can't afford to eat out at this level on a regular basis."

"Sunday brunch for $27 seemed a bit of a stretch when I first made the reservations. But, I think that no longer. Eggs Benedict with a petit filet was an outstanding dish. It was preceeded by a wonderful blini and followed with a beignet that was out of this world. Exceptional service in a beautiful, romantic setting tops it all. Thanks."
