The Arizona Inn is an historic resort spread over 14 tranquil acres of gardens, flowers and lawns in the heart of mid-town Tucson.

"The dining room at the Arizona Inn is really old-school -- and that's a good thing. The decor and table setting harken back to an era of elegance when gentlemen and ladies dined properly. The kitchen has added "modern" menu items to the place out of a Gatsby Western with mixed results. Menu descriptions are enticing, but execution falls short. Four of us unifiormly found our main course "blah." Service was amatuerish. The kids on the floor tried hard, but lacked the experience necessary to pull off the elegance suggested by the room. Management observed occassionally from a corner doorway, but made no corrective moves that we could see. Overall, a very average experience for a very elegant price."

"I really enjoyed the old world, relaxed ambience of the Inn. It is one of my favorite places in Tucson. The food was delicious all around. The Vichyssoise was great and the Brussels Sprouts with a goat cheese panna cotta were my favorite. The portions were huge so splitting would have been a great option, but did not try with a price fixe menu.
Service was good but could have used a bit more attention to water and drink needs."

"We love the Arizona Inn! We stayed there when our son was a freshman at the University of Arizona! The quality of the food and service has remained consistently high, four years later at graduation! It all started with the Vichysoisse! The food is fresh with variations in the menu. It is one of our favorite restaurants in Tucson!"

"Every time we go to Tucson, we have either lunch or dinner here. The food is excellent !!! Ambiance is nice and quiet with beautiful decor that transports you to an elegant European home. They are famous for their prickly pear lemonade and have a great bar too."

"There were three of us. I took some dear friends here who had heard raving reviews so they wanted to try AZ Inn.Two of us ordered the filet - it was not served 'naked' as a filet should be - some kind of cheesy crust and a red (color?) sauce, too salty or was it the potatoes? I always get suspicious when there is too much salt..what are they trying to cover up?The other guest had the lamb chops - I saw that she had cut a LOT of ? fat? off as if she was trying to find the meat! The wine was flat - David Bruce - I have had this wine numerous times - 2009 and expected this to be up to par...it was NOT, tasted flat. I have visited this winery and it's one of the best for Pinot Noir. Nice touches of the chef before and after."

"The food was good, but not outstanding, given the price. But the thing that stood out the most was the utter pretentiousness of the service. When the waiter starts out by standing in front of the table and saying "May I present you with the menu" you know there's trouble ahead. Another good line was "Is everything to your liking?" There were others too. I've been to thousands of restaurants, many with better food than this one, but the service, even if elegant, never seemed so forced and phony. What is this supposed to be, Downton Abby? Unbelievable."

"Disappointed in all aspects of our meal. Our expectation in choosing the chef's tasting menu was that this would be his best effort but that was not the case. We started with stale rolls (hard on the bottom) and went downhill. The meat and fish dishes were served on the same plate and the flavors mixed together and the beef was tough. Not a good experience."

"My daughter and I loved the quiet, elegant atmosphere. We had lots of time to enjoy the food and talk. The smoked salmon poached eggs were delicious. My daughter loved the gazpacho and we both enjoyed the dessert that had bite sized selections of many desserts. It was hard to chose a favorite among them; they were all delicious. "I was truly surprised by this experience. The food was fine. Not exceptional. In fact I had a wedge salad that I thought was very under par. The lettuce was not really chilled and there was not much blue cheese.
The dining room is crazy. It looks like they have mashed every style of decorating from the last 50 years together in some misguided attempt to make everyone happy. There are prints of portraits of Native Americans hung under Mexican sconces next to hunt scenes next to Japanese screens next to fake Renaissance scenes of buxom wenches. This goes on above a carpet with a rococo red and yellow design. The piece de resistance, though, is that on each table is candlestick with a lampshade that looks made of human skin."

"Some occasions require a real fabric tablecloth. Az Inn is elegant without being snobbish. The dinning experience is always personal and appropriately enough food is prepared carefully on the plate which is not chipped or unusually heavy. There is no annoying noise of loud music so that conversations are therefore subdued. The seating is upright and comfortable. The desserts are all special, the coffee is excellent, served in a regular size cup with a saucer. The same ambiance and food preparation is skillfully served at both lunch and dinner and that would include a warm,lemon, finger bowl at the conclusion of the meal."

"I have dined at the Arizona Inn twice and each experience has been unique. The good is so delicious and filled with such a extravagant array of flavors. Compliments to the chef!! The service is always friendly and accomodating. The hotel itself has so much character and my guests are always fascinated by this historical gem. I would definitely recommend the Arizona Inn and will continue visiting! Thank you!"

"We were cekebrating a birthday and found it the perfect place. Service was attentive and not intrusive. We each had the 3 course sampler menu, which was wonderful but too much food. Not that we did not eat it all! After all, a birthday isbut once a year. The appetizers and starters were just right. The beef in a puff pastry was delicious; the fish delicate. The dessert plate of small bites of 6 desserts was over the moon. The creme brulee was lucsious. How the chef could make something that small so delicious. . . The raspberry almont tart was amazing as was the flourless cake (2 bites). I savored the cut up fresh strawberries and blue berries and took the small slice of brie and peanut brickle home and enjoyed it the next day."

"We discovered the restaurant while visiting with our daughter who is going to school at the University of Arizona which is nearby. We were impressed with their quality and choice of food as well as the top level of service. Reservations are highly recommended. Considering the quality of dishes the price was reasonable. We will plan on going back."

"We were a party of three, including a vegan. What I especially liked for supper, breakfasts, and one lunch was that there was always an option for the vegan. The vegetable paella looked so good that I even tried it. We all enjoyed our evening meal on the 15th, and the wine was especially good. Unfortunately, I can't remember its name since I did not choose it. We also enjoyed the breakfasts, which included a good variety of choices. The chef was flexible in adapting dishes, which I especially appreciated. My favorite was the smoked salmon with bagel and generous portions of cheese and capers. I wish that I could have eaten all my meals at the Arizona Inn and look forward to returning to the hotel and restaurant."

"My wife and I went to the Arizona Inn on Valentine's Day while in Tucson for the annual Gem & Mineral Show. We had done the same thing about 3 years ago and enjoyed it very much. Our experience this time was less positive. The quality of the food was very good and nicely presented. We enjoyed every dish once it arrived. The problem was the dreadful wait for each course to arrive. The kitchen was very slow and our young waiter did not seem to know how to handle it. Several parties who arrived after us were served before we were. We will not be going back in future years."

"The Hotel and meal were wonderful. The service was perfect, very attentive. The reason I didn't give the experience 5 stars is the parking situation is really frustrating. We came for Valentine's Day lunch assuming dinner would be very busy. I dropped my wife off at the front door and drove around the parking lot, block, parking lot again, around the block again, into the parking lot a third time and finally a space came available. Basically I started off Valentine's Day lunch extremely frustrated and irratated. Not a good start. I will not be in any big hurry to go through that again."
