The cuisine at Sapphire Laguna is characterized by Chef/Owner Azmin Ghahreman's distinctive international style, its cornerstone is the freshest possible local ingredients. The evolving menu changes seasonally - based on what is freshly caught and available from small farms, nearby markets and artisan suppliers. Chef Azmin's says: "When you dine at my restaurants you are traveling through the world's markets with your palate, and you don't even need a passport." Now, Chef Azmin opens global portals to diners and shoppers who visit him at Zagat rated Sapphire Laguna. Sapphire Laguna also features reach-in wine vaults which house an eclectic wine collection – more than 900 bottles, emphasizing varietals from around the world. All vintages are stored in temperature-controlled units behind a rustic wall made from actual wine staves. In addition, approximately 25 wines by the glass are available. "Food was good. Nothing was great but it was all solid. Everything took forever though and it wasn't very busy. So this is not a good place for a quick lunch or if you are in a rush."

"The food was extremely over priced. We were charged $16.95 for two eggs and an english muffin. I had the corned beef hash which was a very small portion and tasted like salsa instead of hash.
The hostess was incapable of seating us at the table we wanted although we had reservations and arrived before other people, she let others have the table.
The waitress was inept, unable to answer basic questions and was extremely inattentative and slow.
I will not return to this over priced bad service bad food, although trendy, resturant."

"Be sure to ask for patio seating when dining here for lunch/brunch. You're in Laguna Beach. Why would you want to sit inside where its a bit dark and noisy, when you have an awesome seat with sunshine, people watching, and great food outside?"

"One of the best valentines day dinners we've ever had. Everything was a great experience, the food, wine list was excellent and the service staff was top notch, can't say enough about the service. Also having a parking structure for this place made it easy, where normaly you'd be driving in a circle around laguna. We sat in the best seats In the house which is on the patio in front of the fire place facing the sunset and PCH for people watching. Great place..."

"Food was great. Seating was horrible... our table was at the back of the restaurant seating side by side (not across from one another). I would be ok with that kind of table if there were no other tables available, but there were about 5 empty table for a party of 4. Overall experience was just ok, but food was wonderful. I now know that I will need to make special request for a specific table if i ever want to go back there again."

"I have been here several times and it NEVER disappoints. This past weekend service was much slower than usual but with a gorgeous view of the ocean and amazing weather that may have been to our advantage. The food is always delicious and beautifully prepared- if you are adventurous and its on the menu, don't look at the contents an order the bento box. I ALWAYS do and have found the suprise element to enhance an allready fabulous dining experience. Make reservations though."

"This place is fantastic. My reservation with OpenTable somehow got messed up as the computer showed I made it for the following Saturday. But that was not the case and I later received a questionnaire asking how my experience was on my intended date. Thankfully, the restaurant accommodated me on a very busy night with no wait. I won't use OpenTable again to book a reservation. The service is not trustworthy."

"It appeared that the Management wasn't as organized as they should have been. We had reservations and there seemed to be a little bit of a problem with making sure we got seated on time along with requesting an outside table when making the reservations and when we got there reieterating where we wanted to be seated and then when the same person came out to get us proceeded to walk us inside. She had just seated someone outstide that didn't have reservations at our table so we had to wait a little bit more for another outside table. Food was excellent."

"This was a wonderful dining experience. The food was fantastic. The service was very good. We dined outside for lunch and it was perfect. The kobe burger exceeded everyone's expectations and I had the baramundi which was a delicious lunch. Wine list is great too. I will have a hard time going anywhere else when we visit Laguna Beach."

"We were a party of 4 and we ate outside on the patio next to a heater. The view was delightful. We were warm between the sun and the heater. The food was very good everyone enjoyed their entree from the crazy cobb to the vegie egg white tower to the eggs benedict. The food was fresh and flavorful and the presentation was terrific. The service was very good. A wonderful experience overall for our Sunday brunch and we will be back to try the other interesting items on the menu."

"My original reservation was for four people. At the last minute a friend asked if she could join us just for a glass of wine and an appetizer. When we asked the teenage hostess if we could pull a chair up at the table she said no and that we could only be accommodated outside (the temperature that evening was hovering in the high 40's) She also added that we would have to give up our table on the inside at 7:00pm (our reservation was at 5:45) because they had another reservation at that time. An hour and 15 minutes at a higher end restaurant is not a sufficient amount of time to enjoy a meal. I feel cheated when I'm forced to wolf down my $30 entree. We were about to leave when another employee stepped in and rectified the situation."
