"The food and ambiance were great. The service was a little slow. Our waiter was more interested in a table of five who were ordering bottles of wine! He never came back for our dessert order and we had to ask the hostess for our check."

"I usually go to Alta Strata for drinks and appetizers. They pour a great martini. There is a nice selection of "small plates" and appetizers. The bread is fabulous. The service is very good. It's a busy place but I have never felt rushed."

"Alta Strata never disappoints. The service is very friendly, polished and professional. The food is excellent, blending tradition with new flavors and ideas. As an Italian I often cook shrimp with linguini with a red sauce and was very pleasantly surprised at the hint of orange and the zing of red pepper. It was excellent. I would like to see either some new additions or some more daily/weekly specials as I am sure I will be delighted."

"We loved the five dishes of antipasti and the only difficulty was choosing which 5 to have. All of the Sunday Brunch main courses were good with the eggs benedict being outstanding. Three desserts between four of us was just right with the apple crostada (with honey) being my favorite but the chocolate cookies with mascarpone impressed all. The foam on the cappucino impressed our coffee master and the expresso nicely rounded off an excellent brunch. All of the staff were extremely friendly and the service was very good."

"Wonderful food and service. Only problem, which is no real reflection on restaurant, was the couple next to us was extremely negative and almost arguing the entire time. The seating is a little close so I felt we were part of their angst. Once they left our other "neighbors" were great. I would highly recommend this restaurant!"

"The food here is consistently excellent-try the antipasti selections, we would recommend the white beans with rosemary, the farro with pinenuts, and the spicy green beans...

My grilled bronzino was a good reminder that simple food can be perfect.

Our server was excellent, and all of the staff was courteous and efficient.

All in all, one of our favorite restaurants in the Boston area."

"This was the second time we have gone to Alta Strada for valentines day. The food was wonderful as always. Even what appeared to be the most simple dishes were bursting with flavor. Having a reservation was key, especially on a day like valentines day, where restaurants would be typically packed with diners. However, our table was ready immediately upon getting there. As always, I would recommend this place to anyone."

"I made reservations for Valentine's Day Eve (Feb 13) not having visited Alta Strada in Wellesley before (had dined in their Foxwoods location and was pleased there). What a great evening in Wellesley !! The food was great, the ambiance was nice, and the staff was very attentive and polite. My dining partner was immensely delighted. Great Job !!"

"The food was great! Their menu included a wide variety of items, which would allow anyone to "mix & match", and have as much or as little as they want. We enjoyed the food very much. The service was superb - attentive & knowledgeable but not intrusive. The decor is very clean, with barrel-vaulted ceilings and wood floors, and it was very comfortable. We really enjoyed eating at Alta Strada, and look forward to returning."

"The restaurant was winding down from lunch service when we arrived for our 2:15 pm(last of lunch) reservation. We weren't rushed whatsoever, in fact encouraged to relax and enjoy. Brushetta with Calamari a superb,perfectly cooked and presented opener. Fedelini with baby clams and a salad. Each was well worth te trip and pricing was reasonable. I will return many times. "We have been to Alta Strada many times, but on our last two visits, we have found the protion sizes to have shrunk dramatically. We actually left the restaurant feeling hungry. I'm not sure why this has changed, but I will not be going there any longer. Rather disappointing, particularly after we had such very good and satisfying meals previously!"

"Fantastic service.. Right from Issac who greeted us to Dora our waitress..to the Chef who took the time to visit our table.. They all took the time to make our night special. "Alta Strada had been one of the restaurants that, when mentioned, my wife and I would respond with, "Oh yeah, we've been meaning to go there." Well, this past Christmas Eve, we took my parents for dinner and had an absolutely terrific experience across the board. The highlight for all of us was the wild mushroom ravioli however every dish was extremely well prepared and flavored to perfection. Their homemade pastas are excellent and the service was extremely well managed and balanced in the approach. We're actually going to be returning very soon with more family."

The Yukon gold potato puree was wonderful as were the Brussel spouts...just the right amount of crunch and flavor. However only one of the tenderloins was really. One was full of flavor and cooked as ordered. The other was more medium rather than rare, and didn't have much flavor."

"We love this restaurant. It is a wonderful neighborhood asset and we eat there every week as well as take out from their on site market, but we don't often go there for special occasions. We did unexpectedly for New Year's and it was great. They had their regular menu as well as a special menu for that night and the food and service were exceptional. We are very lucky to have it."

"What an outstanding meal- went for Christmas eve dinner and every dish was SO good. Favorite was the appetizer eggplant dish, just delicious! The other dishes were all flavorful and we ate every last bite! For dessert, we got the budino (chocolate pudding with hazelnut)----loved it! Service was wonderful and we will definitely go back."
