Veselka Bowery
Eastern European Cuisine with a Contemporary Twist.
Our menu changes seasonally so we may provide our guests with the freshest of ingredients. Some of our signature dishes include Ukrainian Borscht, Pierogi (Varenyky), Meat or Vegetable Stuffed Cabbage and Pork Schnitzle to name a few. We have a full bar that features over 100 vodkas from around the world and a large selection of Eastern European Beers, both bottled and draft.

"Food: Borscht soup, Matzoh ball soups were both excellent.
Pierogies were phenomenal. I got the short rib (a nice tasty twist on a classic dish) and Beet and goat cheese ( THE BEST pierogies, surprisingly complex taste )

THey also had $3 beer on draft that was pretty good for $3 draft beer.
Overall an excellent evening with some Ukrainian friends who seemed to enjoy the "homemade" pierogies (i trust their eastern European opinion)"

"Thankful I got to share the Veselka experience with a large group of friends. The breakfast pierogis were a hit--bacon egg, cheese and lox cream cheese. The thick challah french toast was a sight to behold. Very tasty as well. Otherwise the solid execution of breakfast and brunch I've come to know and love at Veselka on 9th Street. Excellent drinks including the Veselka Bowery Bloody Mary, the VB Mimosa Twist and the Ruby Red Square."

"Wonderful selections of authentic Eastern European food. Inspired selections and new takes on old classics blend together for a great dining experience. Try a vodka flight to balance the richness of the foods and sauces. The borscht is just as good as my grandmother's!"

"Menu is different from the East Village Veselka. It's less varied and overall towards the more expensive items. The only reason one would go to this Veselka is that it's empty. Otherwise, it doesn't make sense."

"We have been here twice, first time the food was tastier. Missing salt or something this time around, at least for the short ribs. Appetizers are fun to share, drinks are good and generous. We've been with groups of 6 or so each time, and it is good for groups - a good casual place."

"I love the original Veselka in the East Village and with a big group mostly from out of town I decided to try out the new, bigger location for size. It looks more modern and the food was fine- the kielbasa burgers were eaten up with relish. It took over 40 minutes for us to get our food while other tables that arrived later were served long before us which was a little irksome since we were hungry, but the wait staff were reasonably nice and we were in no rush. Overall it was okay- possibly worth trying out if you like the old Veselka and are up for something a little different, but in the future I'll opt for waiting for a table at the other location."

"After hearing positive reviews of this restaurant my wife and I decided to have dinner. The Challah bread is excellent and and the cheese spread given. It went down hill after that; mushroom barley soup flavorless and a porridge. The salad of Brussels Sprout and braised bacon was union entire, tasteless, and not braised more boiled. We didn't even consume more than a 1/4 of the dish. The main course chicken kieve, and fish dish were lawful. The server was pleasant but really should have noticed we didn't enjoy our food. Don't waste your money."

"The location was great as we were heading to a play nearby. My husband loved his smoked trout salad. I had a delicious, generous portion of stuffed cabbage with a nice tomato sauce. Our daughter loved her pierogi with a white sauce. Portions were generous for all of us. The service was friendly, efficient and non-obtrusive. The place was nearly empty - it deserves to be far more popular. Prices were quite reasonable."
