"The service was great, nice waitress. The food was below par. The Blackened Grouper was so thin that it looked like it was pounded flat. It was over cooked & dry . Zero flavor although it was blackened. I give the green fried tomatoes a big 0. Don't order. My husband had lobster tails - over cooked, tough & chewey. All side dishes were were basic bland. We skipped dessert. We had enough. Were on vacation so didn't complain. Not our style. It was definitely not worth the $$$s & we will not return. We also canceled a second reservation for that week w them. They have a captive group w the hotel. If you have a car drive to the town of Fernandia. There are great little privately owned restaurants that are fantastic w tons of ambience."

Review 3 for The Verandah at Omni Hotel Amelia Island Plantation
"we had been at the verandah years ago. The design of the new restaurant is lovely.
We started with the caesar salad. That poor lettuce was drenched in dressing. It was actually limp by the time you could finish it. One of us had the snapper with strawberries and said it was great. Two of us had the crab cakes, we come from Maryland and we like our crabcakes with large chunky pieces of crab. These were not... The were passable..but not great.
We would probably try the restaurant one more time to see if this was just an off night."

Review 7 for The Verandah at Omni Hotel Amelia Island Plantation
"Service and atmosphere was nice. The menu choices are mostly seafood and 2 in our group would have appreciated a couple more non-seafood choices. The signature entrees do not come with "sides" and therefore seem rather expensive."

Review 8 for The Verandah at Omni Hotel Amelia Island Plantation
"The food was bland and some of it was undercook and other items were overcooked. Overall it was very overpriced. I have had better fast food. I would not recommend the Verandah based on my poor experience."

Review 9 for The Verandah at Omni Hotel Amelia Island Plantation
"The food was good but the decor is very cold and uninviting. Need flowers on the tables or something to make the room more welcoming. Very cold feeing."

Review 11 for The Verandah at Omni Hotel Amelia Island Plantation
"The restaurant didn't have our reservation even tho confirmed by email from open table, but seated us when shown the email. Food OK, but nothing special, slightly overlooked catfish dish. Service friendly and positive. Pricing moderate. Overall just an average meal, might or might not return."

Review 15 for The Verandah at Omni Hotel Amelia Island Plantation
"I did not like the new decor. It is too modern, monochromatic and cold for my taste. There was no warmth anywhere. The server was very good and the food was very good but it was too expensive. I liked the old Veranda better with salad included with the entree and the ability to chose smaller portions in some cases. We will not be back. I guess we are not the right clients for your restaurant. Also we wanted a round table that is better for conversation and there was only one! which was taken. Sorry but Veranda is not for us."

Review 16 for The Verandah at Omni Hotel Amelia Island Plantation
"My husband and I decided to check out The Verandah's new renovation. What was always a favorite is now a newly remodeled favorite! The atmosphere is more contemporary and the food was even better than before. I had the special grouper entree and it was a five star meal. My husband had the snapper and loved it. The service was excellent. This is definitely worth it. The only thing I miss was their old Verandah salad. Sure hope they bring that back!"
