"Although it was Cinco de Mayo, no one acknowledged the celebration;I added a note in my open table reservation that it was my wife's birthday (and upon checking in), however, no one made note or acknowledged my wife; the restaurant was only half-full, however it took 1.5 hours to eat; my 6 year old son was the last to receive his taco...45 minutes after we ordered it; the entire food order came out with no apparent flow or focus...almost as if it was being parceled to us for no particular reason."

"The food is the main driver of this restauant. The tostada, fish tacos, guacamole and carnitas tacos are worth coming back and back for. I dare you to stray from your usual at Barrio, because so many of the dishes are fantastic. The atmosphere is family friendly and welcoming. It is also a great spot to sit at the bar."

"Food quality was very good, but the time coming out of the kitchen was unsatisfactory, especially since it was during an unbusy Sat. lunch time period. The waitress apologized once, and took an item off of our bill, but it was still WAY TOO LONG to wait for food!"

"Asked our server if they had chicken tacos and he said in the bar only. Do they only make chicken tacos in the bar? We also asked for chips and salsa and he said they were not complimentary, but then other tables around us kept getting served chips and salsa. They tables were really close together and there wasn't very much privacy. Our server wasn't very attentive and wasn't very accommodating as well. I would not go back again!"

"I have been to Barrio del Cocina once before, and I had a much better experience the first time. The chips were extremely salty, and the rest of our food was so-so. It was incredibly loud and very hard to have a conversation with my fiance. The server was somewhat attentive. Overall, I've had a much better time at Barrio in Minneapolis. Not the best if you actually want to talk to the people you're dining with."

"As always, the food was excellent. My only complaint about Cocina is the noise level. I wish it were a little less tinny and loud. I understand there's an ambiance that the owner's are going for, but it does influence my decision to eat there more often."

"Went to dinner with my daughter and we thought we would try the Cocina del Barrio restaurant - what a pleasant surprise. Service and food were impeccable!! We were seated right on time with our reservation and we totally enjoyed the experience, everything from the Black Bean Amish Chicken Tostados to the skirt steak tacos to the cinnamon crepes. We are looking forward to our next visit!!"

"My wife and I went to Barrio after attending a movie in Edina and to celebrate her birthday. It was our first time at Barrio and we thoroughly enjoyed it. We loved the way the food came in nice "moderate-sized" plates and each dish was well prepared, attractive, and delicious (although we ordered a bit more that we needed). The service was excellent. We look forward to returning."

"We went on a Tuesday night to grab dinner and the Latin fare hit just the spot! Started with the Caesar Chavez margarita, the helpful and informed server described it as having a smoother flavor profile using a reposado tequilla and orange and it was just that, the perfect balance of smooth and tangy! For dinner we had the specials of the month, a seasonal salad described as having local and in season ingredients, did not disappoint, and we shared an entree. The food comes out tapas style as described and was a great way to work our way through the menu, sharing all the dishes as they came out. You can tell the ingredients are fresh and of excellent quality. We'll definitely be back!"

"We had a lot of fun at Barrio. It's an energetic place with a great choice of many different kinds of Margaritas.
Our waiter forgot a couple orders but the restaurant was pretty busy. The guacamole was delicious and I loved that could order lots of shares plates.
Noise level was pretty high, so if that's an issue beware.
Definitely will return LOVED the Mama Cida marguerita. Delicious !!"

"FANTASTIC. We had a fabulous time here and will be back. Dinner was served tapas style so we got to sample a number of items from the menu, all were fresh and delicious. Our server did a fantastic job of explaining each item as they came out. Their signature margarita (trinity?) was heavenly. Everyone (including the staff) seemed to be having a great time!! Cant wait for the next round of fantastic food!!"

"Ordered chicken tortilla soup and soon realized it really had no chicken in it. Server took it back to the kitchen "to add chicken" and it took 10 minutes before a brand new bowl came out from the kitchen...and the place was NOT busy. Meanwhile, my friend was mostly done with her lunch."
